You can check the Dev Tracker for updates on things like outages and downtimes. A lot of times you'll find explanations for what's going on, as with this post:ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »For what it's worth, the current issues with the European servers are due to a problem with a major ISP in EU. I would just like to know why.

@Ley
"I've told you a million times - Don't exaggerate"
Seriously, 1 mention of recompense in a thread shouldn't make feel a lot more like a "I deserve free stuff because ESO was down" thread than a "I want an explanation of why we're having server issues" thread.
Unless that's the OP, which is not the case here. Most of us posting would like to know why, that's all.

I'm confused, it was OP.
OP wanted an explanation. OP got an explanation and transitioned straight into wanting compensation.
Edit: I may not be using OP correctly. Basically person makes thread to ask for explanation, they get an explination and complain they did not get compensation.

I'd consider yourself lucky they actually took the server down for maintenance and fixed the issue instead of just wishing you the best of luck, linking you the support page, and passing your request on to the Mage's Guild.

@Allanm
No worries.
Also just to be clear, I think it would be great if ZOS gave the UK servers and extra day or two for the event. I'm just a little defensive about how the topic is being handled by players on the forums. (also bored at work)

Where did you get "power failure" from? That wasn't mentioned in the post.
A power failure three days in a row, at a major ISP?
Yes. When setting up a product that is sold to people worldwide, I would expect them to undertake a risk assessment that should and probably did; foresee this type of problem. The remediation plan appears to have acknowledged that any risk from player backlash was LOW.
Why aren't YOU playing currently?
