Best Training sets for grinding CP and leveling skills?

So im in the process of leveling two new chars, a Mag DK and a Stamina Sorc.

I have 1-50 leveling gear from previous chars, using sets like Vampire's Kiss to help me stay alive before my characters have matured enough to stay alive by other means. However, once i hit level 50, i get to use my whole arsenal of CP 160 Gear Only problem is that i havn't really collected any training stuff, so i am now goin to.

Specifically for AoE grinding, what sets would you suggest for Magicka and Stamina respectively? I plan on back-barring Destro staff or Bow for AoE and pulling, then just frontbar whatever weapon I want to level up.

The sets have to be either craftable or have a low purchase cost, as I dont really feel like farming anything. I also never bothered to save any Training Monster sets. I appreciate any fun and interesting builds, but if you think the best idea is to go full raw damage, which it probably is, ill gladly take suggestions for that too.

Cheers! :)

    Dont grind.

    Seriously, dont.

Youll want the skillpoints and unlock other stuff anyway. Also you have a week of double XP. Do the main quest and speedrun the alliance quests. You should be able to get to lvl 50 in 3 days or so, AND have a lot of skillpoints.

If you do want to grind, craft hundings/julianos if you can. Spriggans is still not bad and its overland so you can buy/farm it. Or farm Alikr for the jewelry. If you dont have agility already, that is. Torugs is probably not good for aoe grinding unless ive completely misunderstood enchantments. Fortified brass is quite decent if you go full medium and have problems staying alive vs pulled mobs.

Anyway, you want to grind levels, do it with steel tornado regardless of character, just slot skills from the weapons you will use on the main bar. Both sorc and DK get major brutality from their class skills.

I always grind dolemens (which I personally find to be a lot of fun) and during the process completely level the Fighters Guild skill line and acquire the 'Daedric Lord Slayer' title/achievement too.

Level 4 Plain white training armor, but made legendary or at least purple. It will be ok until about level 30. Then by 40 things may get a little rough.

Plain, so you can trade or sell it when you’re done leveling.

Use scaling food like orzagas, or dubious or witchmothers.

Pick up weapons and jewelry as you go.

If a magic toon, straight away start lore book hunting and mages guild quest. Go to Cyrodil. Travel to guildies in zones

Pick up undaunted skill line at the local inn, and run daily randoms.

You should be leveled by the time you get mages guild 10. If not run around doing dolmens and delves maybe skyshard.

For grinding, traits are more important than sets. As long as you put training on everything, sets dont matter as much. Just use some common sense.

Personally, my low level Magic Training sets are a mixture of 5 Julianos, 3 Magnus, and my Stamina training Sets are 5 Hundings, 4 morkuldin. Dont over think it, raw stats the benefit your type of build is the answer here. I have a set of jewelry around level 20 that I use for each as well.

At max level, not much changes. Stack training traits, and maybe a bit of regen as well. Thanks to the event, I was overloaded with transmute stones so I just changed a 2 pieces of velidreth and 2 VO maces I had sitting around to training. VO is a great grind set once you are at the cap for stamina.

You want sets that provide you with constant 5th piece bonuses, such as Seducer for magicka. This way you'll always have full benefit from the last bonus while previous ones scale depending on the level of the set. Willow's Path is also not bad for both mag/stam.

    Hey all!

Thanks, the point though is to have full training gear of Level 50, CP 160, that i can use after i actually hit 50.

It has been a while since i last leveled in this game, but at least before One Tamriel, I remember i could grind 1-50 in basically an afternoon. I really dont mind grinding a bit to be honest. It's been almost 2 years since i last played actively, although i have logged in sporadically ever since release.

I'm currently CP 620, so what im looking for is sets to help me level up spells on new chars once i hit 50, and to get me closer to the CP cap while doing it.

I have a 9 trait crafter, Im just not sure what to go for, so came here for inspiration :)

I am sort of getting the feeling that going the standard damage frontbar, sustain backbar is the way to go.

Forget that you're grinding CP and just craft whatever you would otherwise use (Hundig's, Julianos, etc.) except craft it with the training trait.

As to dropped gear with Training, the only set that reliably drops with that trait is the Trainee stuff from the noob islands for each alliance. You can grind those yourself from chests and troves in those areas as well as some quests there if you didn't do them all 1-50. Having the Treasure hunter CP passive unlocked helps with that since that gives you a much better chance at set gear from the lower tier chests. Or just buy Trainee gear from guild stores since any of that with the Training trait tends to be really cheap... 200 gold or so per piece.

Even more I would go with plain legendary training gear you could resell when done. Light or medium as wax is cheap. Tempers not so much.

I got a whole set of Trainee for leveling my toons with. Easy set to obtain, good stats for all purpose use and it comes in all armors/weapons with the training trait so very useful overall for leveling multiple skill lines.

Leeching plate jewelry and weapons + Vampire kiss armor + Grothdar helm and shoulder (light if your a magic class and medium if your a stamina) [All items should be in training] >optimized for survivability; allowing an almost AFK experience.

    Hundings/Shacklebreaker for my stamina characters.
    Julianos/Magnus for my magicka characters.

Every 10 levels I make new gear for them and upgrade to green only.

Do the Auridon dolmens for jewelry.

This. After I levelled my first few chars up I was done with levelling the "right way" and made one set each of these, all training (except for jewellery obv) purple, enchanted for resources and one or two health. Made a set at level 3, 12, 26 and 40 for each stam and mag. I just keep them in a storage chest in my house now so when I get the hankering to level a character, I have the gear sitting there.

Don't recommend keeping it all tho unless you're really planning to max out your character slots. It's a lot of storage space.

My suggestion for level grinding is to go Dolmen farming.
There will always be enough people in the group that you won't have to fear death.
Also gets you a nice amount of jewelry for deconstruction.

Sorry if I am not able to help you with your intended method.

You can craft the same setup of gear for both, if you really want to save on reaources:

    5x Mechanical Accuity
    5x Shacklebreaker or Pelinals
2x anything else (maybe something with a max health 2pc bonus)

This setup will work on either magicka or stamina characters and be good enough to get you to 50 on any character. It also will allow you to use both stamina and magicka skills to a decent effect while leveling, if you aren't sure what you want to do with the character or want to keep options open.

For low-level PVE, questing and grinding, I've always used this combination:

4 pieces Night's Silence, all heavy
3 pieces Hist Bark, all heavy
2 pieces Vampire's Kiss, all heavy
3 pieces (usually Jewelry) Hunding's Rage

I usually improve the armor to superior and the weapons to epic.

For alts really more than anything you want sustain because you want to kill lots of adds in a fast amount of time and sustain is more better than just raw damage.
For mag I craft julianos and seducer, stam hundings and I can't remember what other set I normally craft.

I've successfully used this universal leveling build created by Dan at Unified Gaming which works great for either magicka or stamina builds. When done leveling one character, just save the sets for use on next one!

If it's your first character never speedrun.

Go enjoy the game you only get to experience the game for the very first time once. Enjoy it.

If you have multiple character's here what I do:

Get someone to help you farm public dungeon to lvl 10 in group.

Then make a tank or PVP guy and farm group dungeons or battlegrounds.
Buy Aetherian Ambrosia for 100% xp.
Wear all training gear in whatever lvl 10 set you like.

    Then farm like a MOFO.

At lvl 50 you can spec into whatever you like.
Keep in mind you have to re-learn your character at lvl 50 so you may suck and be mindful of that - unless you intend to do tanking or pvp.

Best way to level as dps and powerlevel I've found doing public dungeon in full training gear in whatever set you like with Aetherian Ambrosia on. Kill everything in public dungeon while you que for group dungeon (DPS got long waiting time).

I'm a big fan of cowards gear for levelling up new toons after the first one : even more so after the rapids debacle. It gets you from A to B much faster which means both that you can bang through a pile of quests but also that you can stack a *lot* of quests at the completion step, read one scroll and then zip round the map like sonic the hedgehog and complete them all with the scroll live. Likewise for skysharding travelling at high speed is good.

It also keeps you alive for those moments when you jump over a cliff and land on a bosses head, get too close to a dragon or pull a load of mobs by accident.

For stamina the Alik'r gets you necklace and rings for sword singer which is a cheap easy way to get damage up - more so as the recent changes un-nerfed it, and a few delve trips or chests (there are chests near the dolmens nobody ever seems to bother with!) will find you a 2H sword singer weapon or armour bits. For magicka my current favourite when levelling has become winters respite, because it gives you an easy heal for you and group as soon as you've got elemental blockade on your destro staff. Added advantage is you also accumulate venomous smite pieces doing the same quests/delves which is not a bad set at all for stamina.

Too many toons not enough time

I see a lot of folks recommending Vampire's Kiss for heals, but I personally prefer crafting Nocturnal's Favor for my alts, as it heals for a lot more per second and doesn't require an enemy to die, which makes it more useful for soloing world bosses, PvPing, and the like. Plus it has built in stamina recovery that offsets the cost of roll dodging.

New moon acolyte is great for steam and Magicka toons. But it’s 9 traits so ask a guildie if you don’t have 9 traits learned

Ogrims scales ? is fun to play with

Twice born star. Gives two Mundas stones. So use thief and shadow?

Hunting’s of course. Ancient dragon guard. Night mother’s gaze.

Sorry for all the people who responded that did not seem to answer the question asked

My new magplar is wearing 5 pieces of Julianos (head, shoulder and jewels) and 5 pieces of Shacklebreaker (rest of body) which allows me to use whatever staff I want (currently the green prophet's flamestaff from leveling rewards). I have used this in the past on a magsorc and had a blast with it.

For stamina leveling, I'll go with Shacklebreaker and Hunding's Rage for body and jewels with mechanical acuity for my starting weapon. Like with the magicka setup, I can swap out weapons when I get something better.
