If I'm not mistaken, it works as a bid (silent auction). So, the highest bid wins.
In PC/NA for example, I've heard that prime spots such as Rawl'kha receive bids in house of millions (weekly).

Cheapest will be somewhere under 100k, but you're probably looking at a dead zone in an outlaws refuge where no one goes.

EU they're typically less than NA if trader costs follow the trend of prices everywhere else, at least.

    Don't! Just don't!

Participate in an existing guild. Don't put more fuel to the guild trader war. Currently each and every decent trade guild has high competition and most guilds lost their spot at least once.

I disagree - Do it OP! Go ahead, run a trade guild for a few months, then return and tell us how many millions you've made by being GM.

As to cost of trader, on NA they can vary from 10k+ up to millions, depending on location.

    Here is what I suggest
    - pick a location that you think would be suitable
    - place bid of what you're prepared to pay for said location
    - If you win, great! If you lose, place a higher bid the following week.
    - If you keep losing, keep placing higher bids until you win or find a cheaper location

I've lost bids for out of town traders that were over 300k. So it really depends who you are bidding against.

We haven't tried in six months, but when my housing guild worked on getting a trader, we were loosing the one in Belkarth Outlaw's Refuge for 400k. Once or twice we managed to get a 3rd zone, off-the-road trader for 200k.

Really, unless you have a good support system *and* you want to deticate hours of your life just to keep a trader, don't.

Read his other thread. All guild masters are getting rich skimming millions of gold off the guildmembers. No one bids multiple millions for a trader in a busy hub like Rawl'kha.

At least in his version of reality.

Really? Mournhold more desirable than Elden Root? Is there a reason, other than preference? I'm a member of two trading guilds, we tend to get Elden Root almost exclusively in one and then a capital in the other, but I don't seek out Mournhold when I'm looking for something. According to this I should, curious what the draw is.

I think on the PS4 NA its due to many things. Wayshrine, crafting, writs, undaunted, etc.
When my Guild builds up enough profit from our normal bid range. I’ll bid Rawl and I’ll sell more there then my Wayrest or Elden Guilds.

Writs are easier in Deshaan - right near the wayshrine and in a close circle around the guild traders.

Mournhold traders get at least twice the foot traffic of Elden Root. In ER they're between the wayshrine and the undaunted, sure, but in Mournhold they're literally in a circle around the wayshrine, with crafting around that, and Rolis in shouting distance. People hit that shrine constantly.

As others pointed out, the writs, crafting stations and traders are all very close together by the wayshrine.

It's also the best zone for picking up the guild quests, and pledges are not too shabby either. The only drawback is that the bank is inside a building.

Really ... Try 10 million plus

I know of one guild payed 13 million for one on PS4 ... My question is how do they even make their money back on that kind of investment

    This games economy is mental

Would be better if guilds could only sell to other guild members and taxes went towards rent on a fully furnished guild "village" with all the crafting tables, daily writs. A training arena for single target and crowd testing , mundus stones ...

Obviously you don't make enough in taxes you can't have every feature that week or month how ever long the rental period is

So basically all the things guildmasters already spend real money for. Don't expect ZOS to throw away that revenue stream.
