Summerset Healer and tanks things to consider!

Information about patch from alcast and shimmers, lynx notes. I have taken important notes for tanks and healers from 3.

Two Handed Weapons now count as two set pieces, thus making Staves and Two Handers worth two slots. This is an insane change and will impact balance and the possibilities of set combinations by a lot, especially for magicka setups as they are the most common users of two handed weapons.

This means can use monster helms like lord warden, earthgore, sentiental (4k stamina to mutiple allies), troll Kings or other helms. If you are clever and hard-working can use arena staff with it too.

Harmony – Increases the potency of Damage, Healing, Recovery & Damage Shields granted by Synergies by 35%

Twlight Remedy...bone surge... much greatness!

Many new traits but this looks nicest for support! Though mind you collect any missing jelewery sets before this...cause there will be 9 after this instead of 1 that can drop.

Significant buffs to dragon knight healing potency and shield. Wonder if this fixes biggest issue of overlapping?

Nightblades healers had malevolent healing changed again...I think it will work this time. It's instant burst healing and damage dot on caster for use.

Nightblade tanks now self heal and minor protection.

Nightblades support now has radius of bolstering darkness increased significantly.

Sorc tanks really could become something special as most sustainable tanks. 20 reduced cost to blocking for 3 secs and 15% reduction in cost to stamina or Magicka ability after blocking.

Templars tanks nothing new

Templars healers ritual is instant cast and bol heal is 30 less. Fixed nova so effected still usable after exiting.

Warden tanks heal is better and gates do damage too now.

Warden healers vine thing now gives ulimate on usage.

Sorc healers empowered ward buffed 10%

Charged storm annotach now has more health....

Silver Leash
This now pulls targets to you (Like Chains do), still costs Stamina.

Congratulations all non do tanks

What do you think of changes?

As I’ve understood it, this trait affects the synergies the wearer activates, not those she provides. But I could be wrong.

I believe the aegis change is a 20% mitigation, not cost reduction. So use it when you have a big hit incoming, but it’s no change for sustained blocking costs.

Be skeptical about this last one, others are saying that Alcast may have misreported it. I’ve not seen anyone corroborate his account but I have seen another playtester say he didn’t hear anything about this being a change. (I haven’t watched anyone’s videos though, so maybe it’s corroborated in one or more of those!)

That would be disappointed but seems like could be read either way for harmony. I hoping it's a support one. It's not useful otherwise.

:D yeah I got it gold and ready for it if true.

@ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_GinaBruno is true? Does this work for synergies provided by caster or user?

More diversity for tanks? Thats a joke. Ok everyone now got aoe stun and chain, still dks will be the best providing aoe talons and maim, having unique stamina sustain while blocking, giving a 10% buff to all fire damage. And now they even get better sustain with combustion passive. All other classes still wont be competitve in the tanking meta.

I was a bit shocked to see stamina sustain added to dk at first, but pretty rapidly realised it was like NB excutioner in some ways. A tank would have to cast a skill that he would probably not have on a bar, to return less resources than the skill he's casting cost him. It does't have the reliance on a body or timing though, thankfully. All it really does is take the edge off chains. It's a good way of not helping DK tanks much and helping DPS/healers a bit.

Dk tanks are famous because of engulfing flames, an unique buff to all firedamage. This skill gives magicka return through elemental drain and can proc burning. So once more sustain by combustion. ;)

Engulfing flames' 10% fire damage boost is the one thing separating DK and warden tanks right now, in every other way they're pretty much equal for nearly all content.

That said, the major thing holding wardens back was the fact that MagDK was no longer wanted in trials, so DK tanks were required for engulfing flames. Now it's looking like MagDK got at least minor buffs (though someone did mention they're doing far better with the summerset changes, via the playtest), but more importantly DK healing got a buff, and if that ends up being enough to make a DK healer viable for trials (alongside a templar or warden healer, obviously), then the DK healer can be providing engulfing flames allowing a warden the tank spot.

I dont think dk healer will be a thing. Additionally healers mostly stay further away from enemies. A dk tank still is the easiest option here. But if magdks ourparses stamina toons with the changes, then this would open up group constellation. But only if melee dds are viable for the trial and magdks are competitive melee dds.

With increases in the right areas for rare tanks and healers and some dps. We might see some interesting pairing.

Let's assume dragon knight healers were used in fights. We could have them also give spell damage and weapon buff while take lesser used potions that potentially give more magicka or stamina back. Assuming such variety of potion exists from ravage potions.

Looking at this I feel threatened by dk healer uprising that I been supporting :scream: . Seriously my poor sorrecer healer... what do have going for yourself...But more variety is fun. At least I see more options for tanks.

So let's talk about this more

Templar tanks could Sustain with run if they went with frost tanks. That looks pretty insane now that staves count for two items. Frost damage also has maim secondary effect. There's also scale rune for more cc. Some unquie things about taking them would be extra hot heal from ritual or shard they could give to off or main tank.

Sorrecers tanks...still wish clanfear did something more but on point they seem really adaptive masters of sustain from new passives that make it easy for them to block or weave in between not blocking. They share rooting ability between wardens and dragon knights though sorcs are better at rooting before fights or when they can line of sight them. No maim besides frost staff and shield and board but bring uptimes in concussion and off balance which is more helpful in larger arenas ( asylum) or 4 man dungeons were variety is limited.

Wardern we know this well. They have unquie chain like items that no only take them close but also apply major main. They also give Troup extra restiances. This is underated I think. Using it as healer with minor protection I didn't need to slot a shield on vAA first boss. Could see some mechanics avoided or easier hms. Definitely seems easier on paper at least have them for progression or better scores. Not mention if tank using budding seeds they can regain lower resource pool while providing allies a buff in health and regain staffs.

Can't say much about nightblade tank buffs. They do have was it major protection ultimate that was buffed significantly. Cloak makes it easier for them to self heal now. Well can't say much else. Maybe good ultimate generation tanks?

Dragon Knight tanks are still mostly the same. Self heal is still powerful with Major mending. Still same classic things that make them awesome.

Maybe they can use anger fietsh menenti to boost there flame damage. I julest but there really is such a menento effect.

I suspect it's on the receiving end, so the Synergizer would have to be wearing the traited jewelry.

Not that it would be likely viable, but aslo curious if/how these stack? If you wear three pieces, do you effectively get 105% buff to the synergy? That could become OP very quickly.

It's a significant change for any class really. Before users of 2 handed weapons were locked into a few useful builds, now they have a lot more options.
