A fresh start server? A WoW Classic Approach? Would you want it?
There are a lot of people that love this game and have been here since the beginning. There are many of us that miss the early game meta, before the DLC, before Morrowind, back at the very start of it all. The industry has seen a growth of "fresh start" server programs that have been received with much praise. EverQuest I and EverQuest II both have had their share of Time Locked Expansion servers which gradually implement content to vanilla servers based on a community vote every sixty to ninety days.
The game RIFT has also just had a fresh start server added and World of Warcraft Classic is on the horizon. With all of these things in mind and the constant complaining regarding the changes to specific classes, skill lines, resources, and even CP adjustments, why not take us back? Why not give us a Fresh Start to quell some of these complaints and allow the players to enjoy what they miss?
Here's what I propose:
- The game begins exactly how it once did with Veteran Ranks
- The base game patch from day zero is implemented
- Every sixty days the players decide if the next content patch will be implemented
- This Fresh Start server will allow only players that have an active subscription.
- No Cash Shop.
