A pvp switch in pve zones

Yes I know dueling is there, and cyrodill exists as well as battlegrounds, but it just Wouldn't add the element of surprise that a pvp switch would have, if you played dcuniverse online you'll know what I'm talking about, you can just active a pvp flag that allows you to attack other players that have there pvp flags switched on.

Most players would say no I guess, I'm just stating my opinion on the idea as it is optional,

How about a turn off PvP in the PvP Zone (and the General section of the forum)

I think it would be ace. But keep Alliance no friendly fire on

Fed up of seeing DC and AD roaming across EP territory since OneTamriel.

Game really needs this to help the lore. And as a switch zero reason why PvE care bears wouldn't want it, i mean.they already have PvE in PvP zones

    Yes.
However you forget the most important thing inforums.
People will say no and they will support their possition with superficial excuses.
And even though ppl without PvP flag will not be affected, the majority of them will still say no.

Do you know why? Because smthg that they wanted didnt happen.
    So they will say no.

Why stop there, get into a random group for dungeons and PvP the opposing faction, you're AD but your healer is EP, DEATH TO THE HEALER!! Wait for another 30 minutes, the new Healer is DC and he's dead... wait another hour. This is fun!

That feeling of slight paranoia as you get that node or kill that boss I love it plus the safezone thing would work great plus its optional you don't have to do it

and you can already pvp in pve zones. its called dueling. i mean thats as good as you saying there are npc's to kill in pvp zones right? except those quests are designed for you to do something around players who can kill you.

mixing pvp and pve in a pve zone would be painful for pvp players. im sure they'll get annoyed finding players they cant kill everywhere. it will simply lead to more whinging. and theres not enough population to split the server.

No thanks. The game was introduced to more lag (as if that was needed) when dueling in PvE zones was implemented. To have even more PvP going on in PvE zones would probably cause performance to decrease even further. In my opinion, it was a huge mistake on ZOS’ behalf to enable dueling outside of PvP environments and or player homes. The game truly didn’t need that added on stress with it already having been so unstable as is. Dueling just magnified the issue(s).

Poor performance aside, I don’t think the game needs anymore reasons to have PvP-driven players to disrespect and flame each other in chat. It becomes tiring to see people insult each other over something like PvP day in and day out. Especially when there are usually more pressing matters to be tended to.

If it would not degrade server performance (it will) and if it would result in additional revenue beyond the costs to develop and maintain (it won't), I would be fine with it. I have zero interest in the feature itself.

I can only speak from experiences in this circumstance. And I can honestly say that I’ve never seen people bicker in zone chat over builds, and or ranks like I do when the topic at hand is something PvP-oriented. I can not tell you how many times I’ve entered into Elden Root, and been greeted by people calling each other various inappropriate names and making explicit comments about each other. Why? Because so and so is using this “cheese”, and the person who lost feels cheated. Or how this person feels superior to that person, for beating them in a duel. So now, they feel the need to degrade their opponent with derogatory comments in zone chat. I can’t say that I’ve ever observed any of those things when the topic at hand was of something PvE-based.

I would love this so much. Those who argue against it, I don't really understand since it would be an opt in system. As in, you can literally never partake in it in your life if you don't want. But people like to ruin it for others just cause they hate PvP and have never even tried it :p

May I ask how an opt in PvP system would effect a PvE player? Is it that PvE players don't want to see people fighting? Or what? I can't get my head around it

So me and my team could charge ultis, gank other person/group, and then switch to ”no-pvp”, and be like: sorry, you can’t touch us ;)

There’s a lot more to it, than simple ”ZOS doesn’t want this”. It’s pain to make, too many ways to abuse it.

DCUO's base mission structure was designed around faction PvP. You'd have a quest zone and if you were a hero, you'd go in and do one set of objectives, i you were a villain, you'd do another. Depending on the specific space, this would sometimes put you in direct conflict for quest resources, or it would require you to move across the same space to get to your goal. The game was built from day one to support two faction PvP. ESO's quests really aren't. It'd be possible, probably, but it would be a lot of work.
