How to beat the butcher?

That *** just materialises out of thin air! I don’t think I’m getting this achievement I always get caught! Appears in front after I’ve been sprinting. What is that about!! Poor Princess, she must have had tasty siblings.

You go up the left stairs back into Ebonheart, then when you get to the top of those stairs you immediately turn left and go around the house back to the entrance of the city

Sally forth and rescue the Princess, you dashing hero

erm its easy:
either u go very slow and wait for her to appear and sneak around her, or u go by horse very fast:



1,2 3 are spots where she appears and the red arrows where she moves. 1 is easiest to run around when u go left of the argonian fence, there is a hole and u just ride on ur speedbuffed horse at the back of her, she then starts moving to the middle, then u go right and jump on the stairs and just move fast, u are faster than her appearing on spot 2, then u go left corner again and ride fast behind her back again through middle of the city and then outside. its my route i do with every char. always worked.

there might be other spots, where she appears, but with that route, i dont see any more of her than those 3 times.

activating nameplates btw also helps to spot her faster. for me it does at least.

Once you feed the pig go left side up on the stairs behind the buildings aswell. I didn't even see any Butcher that way. Don't choose the right side.

why not
right side is as easy O,O i always go right side and i have the achievmeent unlocked on every char who did that quest O,O

^ This ^ I've done 3 times this way and haven't been caught.

Butcher spot outside the tavern is missing, the only time I've been caught was on a slow horse there

That's a cruddy map. Don't ever go that way.

Feed pig, immediately take a route behind the argonian buildings on the east side until you reach the gates just before the stairs.

Take the stairs to the top, duck behind the buildings on the east again, stay behind them until you reach the gate. After that follow the path back to the festival hub and congrats you did it.

how can it be cruddy, if i have the achievement on every char even with low horse speed, and i got caught only first time, bcs i had to remember my route from last year. if ur route works fine as well, its okay, but dont insult my route, its sensitive

This, just ride, you might get an princes has stopped message so just stop and let her catch up.

I seen some paths that she changes up on how she goes about it... think I understand there is a way to trick her but do not go fast... go slow. A lot of people are playing so it can cause some loading issues to happen.
I literally do not know if you are supposed to avoid guards and the butcher but I have been trying to avoid both. Route I give does that. Oh and btw the water path... better be quick or pig will reset.

Are people really having trouble with the quest? All I did was walk up to the apples, go feed the pig, and walked back where I needed to go. Guards did stun me like twice and all I did was roll. Literally walked myself out of the entire event.

Hmmm I always go left, up the stairs and then cut through the fighters guild is and straight out the main gate, never been caught yet.

Get on your mount, hit rapids, haul arse back. Granted if your mount speed sucks this might not work but this is how I do it. Blow right by the butcher before he can even get into position.

That's what I do as well, and the only time I got caught was the very first princess run before I went behind the tavern.

The secret seems to be avoiding the obvious path, except where celebrants are keeping it clear (bridge, stairs, etc)

Well, I just go the way where she never spawn. It's quite easy, actually, just don't rush.

I go up the left side (as seen when returning with the pig) and go up the steps to the top. At the top, I cut over sharply and go around the Fighter's Guild counter clockwise. I hug the tent, and do not go up the hill that separates the Guild from the center building. This forces the butcher to spawn outside the Inn, otherwise she will spawn near the central building. As I go around the Guild tent, I head along the bottom of the hill straight towards the low stone fence, and then around it to the right. After that, directly to the center of the plaza and out the main doors. All on horse.

I will hear something about "has anyone seen someone with a pig" and when I hear that, I know I am safe. If she sees me, she will offer to split the pig with me.

The bigger challenge is waiting for the people guarding the apple to be in the right configuration when stealing it. It can take a few minutes for the gears to align, as Barilzar might say.

I just grab the pig, hop on my mount, and haul ass through the center of town. I got the achievement on 8 characters in a row doing that.

i dont know why everyone is having a problem with this --- i take the left path and speed run on my horse. havent been caught yet

I've never once got it by trying to be as fast as possible. Only by being slow and steady did I get it done right.
