last i checked theyre only offering the copy of morrowind not the the Collectors edition, from what im getting you bought the Morrowind CE's, on which those ppl whouldnt get.

i bought morrowind too, but you woulndt see me complaining, its almost over a year ago move on!!!

Yeah but you couldn't do it with any other product so what is different with a computer game? If i bought a sofa full price and a week later it was on sale that would be unlucky for me. Same applies to you with your recent purchase of morrowind. Bad timing on your part. Quite honestly you need to get over it.

Last year, you bought a TV. It was great, easy to use and had a free remote, antenna and video player bundle.

This year, you'll buy a newer TV, it's great, easy to use, comes with a free remote and a new digital antenna. But this time, you get the old TV as well.

I don't get why this is wrong somehow.

lets take it point by point, shall we? now, while I can only speak for american prices, I can say right now that price of morrowind HAS gone down. at launch - it was $40 american dollars for basic upgrade, so I'm guessing unless exchange rate has gone back to 1 us dollar = 1 australian dollar, at that same exchange rate - Summerset upgrade is $60 not 30. and if exchange rate HAVE fluctuated that much, well.. that is not responsibility of ZoS either. moreover - the first time morrowind went down in price was couple of months after release - to half price. $20. essentialy people who bought it at launch? could have waited 2 months and gotten it at half price. do we deserve compensation? no, becasue that is how sales work. and to top it off - morrowind upgrade is currently a NORMAL price (not discounted, baseline) $20 american. half the price of what it was at launch. so its value DID in fact go down, NOT remained constant.

I have purchased things for full price before. only for them to go on sale the very next week. does it suck? yes. yes it does. however. I am NOT entitled to compensation. occasionally companies will make an exception and if the purchase was made very close to the sale (we are talking a few days) - they MIGHT give you a coupon to cover the difference, to be used for future purchases. they are however NOT obligated to do so unless its stated explicitly in their terms of service that they will.

Nix hound mount is not a compensation. its a gift and a bonus for those who bought the game at a specific time. its a little thank you reward.

last but not least - its not free its a bonus WITH PURCHASE. you have to fork over the money NOW to get it.

oh and... speaking of setting precedent. to reiterate something I said earlier in this thread. I bought this game as a preorder. imperial edition. it cost me $80. do you know how much its selling for now. not $80 however... the value of it is that I HAD THE GAME THIS ENTIRE TIME. I. GOT. MY. MONEY's WORTH. you do NOT get to ask for compensation after you got exactly what you paid for WHEN you paid for it, just becasue it eventually went on sale for a lower price.

i think you misunderstood the issue, the issue is not on sale price. it is not about the price of morrowind. Yes, it is currently 50% off if you like to buy it directly. and no one really have any issue with that.

Lets use your example, you bought something at full price, next week it goes on sale. and most people will learn to accept it. but what if you bought it this week, next week they are handing it out for free, but you, as a person who bought it for full price are not entitle to get another one. how would you feel? does it hurt zos to reward their loyal patron a little, so show that they care? or perhaps our patronage means nothing to eso..

The reason of why people are unhappy is because only those who bought the base game, and didn't buy expansion are rewarded for their...hmm...lack of interest in eso? for that new player have a different bundle, and it is a even cheaper/better deal.

Eso is a game with almost unlimited spending cash shop. (1500 crown for character slot, 5000 crown for assistant, crown pot, crown repair kit, crown soul gem) . now tell me which one is more important to the game. Customer who constantly spend cash in their game. or people who have been playing for a while but never bother to buy any additional upgrade.

of course ZOS want to everyone to unlock content, and i agree giving morrowind for free is a good strategy. but shouldn't shouldn't they also reward their loyal player base as well? does it really hurt anyone to put some sugar for their loyal customer??

P.s. please do not talk about the 12 month thing, people could have bought morrowind days before the announce of the summerset. or the fact that some other business does it, which make it ok. people still robing and murder till this very day, does that make them legal and correct? a business who do respect their paying customer mostly likely will not go very far.

Think of all of the WoW players who see people getting Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, and Warlords of Draenor must feel seeing people who buy Legion get all of those expansions for free. And now those a-holes at Blizzard are probably going to do the same thing when Battle for Azeroth comes out later this year.

The trick is to wait until next year, then get the Murkmire chapter which will come with Morrowind and Summerset, unless you want to wait and get the chapter after that to get all three of those...

If I'm not mistaken the "get Morrowind free" is/was a limited time offer, a sales hype promotion. It would be nice if they brought back loyalty rewards, but I don't see it.

In all seriousness they *should* roll IC into the base game with the release of Summerset and then finally make the PvP zone part of it matter to Cyrodiil in some cool ways to help revitalize the whole AvAvA part of the game. Imagine if taking part of IC had strategic value.

I can't speak for other countries, but in mine there are laws in place to get you your money back (or the difference) if you purchase something at full-price a couple of days before it goes on sale or gets a permanent price decrease. Like with a pair of shoes, for instance.

Problem here is that digital goods work differently, and that Morrowind has already been out for a year, has experienced value decrease over that time, and simply won't get the amount of sales ZOS wants to see at original / full price. Nor should they need to. Prices drop over time, and new content gets added. That's how it works.

If I see a brand new phone in stores now - lets call it model A - and I wait with purchasing for a whole year, the phone will be much cheaper when I eventually get it (yay for me in that case). Chances are, though, that a new model of the same phone has released by then as well - lets call it model B - which has all of my phone's features integrated, but offers much more and is very sparkly overall. I can go with the newer but more expensive model B or the cheaper but older model A - just like we all had the option to get Morrowind at full-price when it came out VS. waiting for a new chapter to get Morrowind at a discount.
Back to the phones; If I had gotten model A straight away and want to buy model B now, that does not entitle me to compensation on the features that I already paid for in model A. Regardless of my love for sparkles, or the fact that I've been buying the same brand for over a decade. Just as even the most loyal TES fans won't get a refund on their Morrowind purchase, only because new players are getting it for free with Summerset a year later.

EDIT: I agree with you on that one, and I believe they're working towards that. The daily log-in rewards we'll be getting with Update 18 are a very good first step towards that, and I hope they'll reintroduce a loyalty program. I understand if they don't want to tie it to subscribing, but I''m sure they can figure something out.

I bought Batman, Taletale series for full price, only for it to be part of ps plus free games (assuming you have ps plus, which I did, becasue at the time I was playing some online stuff that required it) i paid $30 for something that was then give to people for "free" guess what? I'm not entitled to compensation.


morrowind is a limited time LIMITED TIME, caplocked and bolded for emphasis - promotion that requires a purchase to take advantage of. does it suck for someone who may have bought it very recently? yes. which is why I specifically mentioned that you could try contacting costumer service and see if they offer you a credit or a coupon towards a purchase. which btw is not guaranteed and nor are they obligated to give you one.

this is NOT disrespect of a paying costumer. this is costumer thinking they are right when they are in fact - WRONG.

1) if it not free, then thats means all paying customer are buying at a higher rate. while people who didn't unlock any upgrade get the sale price. which make even more sense to ask for Reimbursement
2. yes, on sale and add in to the bundle but not apply to you is two different story. morrowind have been on sale for a while now. do you see anyone complain? now they are including morrowind in the next pre order bundle. but only those with base game but never bother to buy morrowind(Even when it is on sale) get it. doesn't this sound like a healthy business model to you?

yes morrowind is a LIMITED TIME offer. but on the other hand so is the summerset pre order. we are simplly asking for a "limited time offer" that when you pre order summerset and already own morrowind, you get some other type of Reimbursement.

That's it. No mention of another chapter, nor DLC, nor anything else that it could possibly allow us to AT THE TIME think it was compensation for anything.

4) The argument that Morrowind is valued less than it was at release is flawed due to one simple thing: the price for the bought edition has not gone down over time. It is still priced the same as it was before it was released. For it to be valued less, it also has to cost less. It's a digital item, not a physical one that will degrade over time.

5) It doesn't matter that it is a "Pre-Order Only" exclusive; it is still being given away for free to those who didn't fork out the money like the vast majority of the player base. It exists simply as incentive to get more new players, hence the "catering to new players" remark made in my opening post.

And... I think that's it? Honestly, after about the fifth post calling me a *** for demanding equal treatment across the player base I gave up reading them. If you're happy having to pay for something others are having handed to them, fine; but those of us who stop to think realise its just setting up the precedent to do it all over again. Next time they'll probably get a free copy of the base game, too, as well as all the expansion packs, which by then would have a net value of over $200, or a week's rent and groceries. But as my GM said a few minutes ago: how dare I demand compensation. We live in an age of entitlement, and I'm a *** for saying that those who didn't pay for something should have to just like everyone else.

The reason of why people are unhappy is because only those who bought the base game, and didn't buy expansion are rewarded for their...hmm...lack of interest in eso? for that new player have a different bundle, and it is a even cheaper/better deal.

Eso is a game with almost unlimited spending cash shop. (1500 crown for character slot, 5000 crown for assistant, crown pot, crown repair kit, crown soul gem) . now tell me which one is more important to the game. Customer who constantly spend cash in their game. or people who have been playing for a while but never bother to buy any additional upgrade.

of course ZOS want to everyone to unlock content, and i agree giving morrowind for free is a good strategy. but shouldn't shouldn't they also reward their loyal player base as well? does it really hurt anyone to put some sugar for their loyal customer??

P.s. please do not talk about the 12 month thing, people could have bought morrowind days before the announce of the summerset. or the fact that some other business does it, which make it ok. people still robing and murder till this very day, does that make them legal and correct? a business who do respect their paying customer mostly likely will not go very far.

morrowind is a limited time LIMITED TIME, caplocked and bolded for emphasis - promotion that requires a purchase to take advantage of. does it suck for someone who may have bought it very recently? yes. which is why I specifically mentioned that you could try contacting costumer service and see if they offer you a credit or a coupon towards a purchase. which btw is not guaranteed and nor are they obligated to give you one.

yes morrowind is a LIMITED TIME offer. but on the other hand so is the summerset pre order. we are simplly asking for a "limited time offer" that when you pre order summerset and already own morrowind, you get some other type of Reimbursement.

it is not about on sale or not, are they making morrowind free? if yes then we have no issue. if they are still charging people for morrowind, they we should get some sort of compensation for it. since we did

Nix hound mount is not a compensation. its a gift and a bonus for those who bought the game at a specific time. its a little thank you reward.

last but not least - its not free its a bonus WITH PURCHASE. you have to fork over the money NOW to get it.

oh and... speaking of setting precedent. to reiterate something I said earlier in this thread. I bought this game as a preorder. imperial edition. it cost me $80. do you know how much its selling for now. not $80 however... the value of it is that I HAD THE GAME THIS ENTIRE TIME. I. GOT. MY. MONEY's WORTH. you do NOT get to ask for compensation after you got exactly what you paid for WHEN you paid for it, just becasue it eventually went on sale for a lower price.

True, Put item on sale is not disrespect, and no one here have have issue with morrowind goes on sale. in fact it was 50% off long ago. and each everyone here is perfectly ok with that~~~ for example, morrowind is on sale, ok~~ great even if i already have a morrowind i can still make another purcase for my family and friend. correct? but this time am paying the same amount of money but am not getting that additional morrowind code.

Morrowind is a part of pre order bonus. yet only those with base game, but never bother getting morrowind, even when it is on 50% off . Every paying customer get absolutely nothing~~~ If. like you said morrowind is on sale, then ok give us another morrowind code, we did pay the same price as people with base game but never spend in game.. correct? if we pay the same price then why shouldn't we get the same treatment? basicaly ZOS is punishing us, for supporting them, or our patronage.. isn't this disrespect?
