@Nestor
It's interesting, but are there any other set changes planned? I mean, for example, Ashen Grip is... extremely situational.
Or are only changes to Sunderflame and NMG expected?
Most of the changes they talked about were related to skills, see Alcasts page linked in the OP for details on that. Will sets be rebalanced? Not sure but I would think some changes would be made, but that is just a guess on my part.Do we know if there will be significant balance changes? Also with multicore threading, was this confirmed by someone or are you just guessing because the game ran so good? Also does this do anything for PS4 Pro/XB1X? I don't expect you to know the answer to these questions but I figured i'd ask
Class skills are being changed, in an effort to make all roles viable with all classes. Again, see Alcast's page for that.
And, yes Multicore is a thing.

https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/89e1in/summerset_update_18_teaser_a_recap_of_last_weeks/dwqokf2/Rob basically filled Rich's old position that he vacated when he took over for Paul as Creative Director, from what I understand. He's effectively the gameplay-version of Phil Draven, who oversees the support systems. So Rob works with Eric and Rich and Brian and everyone else.
The new zone is big, beautiful and full of content.

well there you go. if average players can't be competitive on a class, it needs to be looked at. over on reddit Ixtyr mentioned that "people just haven't learned how to play magwarden right" and that it's fine. I think that's totally the wrong mindset, tbh. yes, we could learn to play a bit better, but when an average player can pick up any other DPS class and hop into a trial and make 25k without much effort, why would they ever play (or a raid leader take) a magwarden?
catering to the average player is what kills MMORPGs.
it's the 'average' player that keeps them going.
The ''average player'' does not need to make 70k dps parses. Any content in the game can be completeled with an average dps.
When to try to make the average player feel like he is the best, you will have a game that takes no skill to play. Warden needing a buff or not is a different topic. but Catering to casuals is what DOOMs mmos. Its what doomed WoW, Its what doomed so many other good games.

It was my understanding that Wrobel was Lead Gameplay Designer after Rich took the Creative Director spot from Paul Sage.https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/89e1in/summerset_update_18_teaser_a_recap_of_last_weeks/dwqokf2/Rob basically filled Rich's old position that he vacated when he took over for Paul as Creative Director, from what I understand. Morrowind isn't factored into the cost. It's just a free addition to the package.

Why not wait for 4 years before buying a chapter. Than you can get the next 3 chapters free. Or wait 7 years and you can get 6 free?

So is Wrobel gone? I thought I saw players posting in their Summerset reveals that Wrobel was with them at ZOS studios.

Their idea of balancing is a) to make every class be able to do everything, which removes uniqueness, and b) to force us to use unpopular skills. They know which morphs are preferred because they perform better, so they nerf them, and change the 'lesser' moprhs to make them popular. Every single change has spawned from the fact that some classes could do X thing, while others couldn't X thing, so here we are. Instead, they could keep each class' identity, and just make every skill useful. There are some skills and morphs that are not used at all, but the solution is not to nerf the good morphs. Also, a lot of changed have spawned from pvp complains; it's most evident in templars' history of changes, but at this point, every class will end up having essentially the same skills, with just different names and animations.

Not sure where this image came from (the red parts, that is) but just want to call out this isn't completely accurate and is not an exact representation of the playable area.

In general, it doesn't feel it, though. Now, some of that may be due to some wide open spaces, but, "small" is never a term I would have associated with the new content.
Though, when you look at the map, Sunhold and Alinor do look weirdly close to one another.

By the map and the icons it looks like half of Vvardenfell. It looks incredibly small compared to a zone that should be gigantic in its size compared to usual zones.
Alinor is two, three times the size of Auridon and yet Auridon seems to be the bigger zone of the two. Something's totally messed up here.
Having been on the PTS, I can concur... It seems too small for the size of the land mass, traveling was fast so the scale of the icons seems correct at first glance.

To me the two biggest things are Jewlery Crafting and Two Handed counting as two slots. This is huge for builds. Most of use a combo of a dropped set and a crafted set. However most casters can not use a Monster set unless they give up a 5th Piece bonus somewhere. Now, we can create and use so many more combos of sets. Meta? That goes out the window now as I can see dozens of combos now that will give top tier performance.

Auridon is bigger, I can guarantee that much. Summerset is about the size of Clockwork City, perhaps a little bit bigger. Definitely smaller than wrothgar, definitely smaller than Vvardenfell. The world map is incredibly misleading when you actually scale the maps.

This is what I am looking forward to the most; being a two-handed wielding stamplar.
However I don't understand how you can say the concept of a "meta" goes out the window - it seems like you don't know what it means?
"Meta" is derived from ancient greek and is usually applied in science and research contexts when you talk about something that transcends the current case or field you are studying and is often seen as an overarching level or a governing field. Examples being meta-physics being governing for physics and cognitive psychology being one of the governing fields for learning. It has been adapted in video games and some people simplify it as "most effective tactic available", even though it actually holds more/deeper meaning than this, even in games.
As such there will always be tactics/builds/setups that perform better than others, even with the new changes, and thus be the "most effective tactic available".
However these changes are definitely going to even out the playing field between builds - not so much classes though which have yet to be addressed even with the latest PTS patch note changes.Seraphayel wrote: »starkerealm wrote: »Seraphayel wrote: »ClockworkCityBugs wrote: »ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »zadrotscrolls wrote: »
