You can’t lump new and vet players together and expect the content to be challenging for the vets without making it impossible for the new players. The difficulty will always be set to accommodate the low level inexperienced players.

That was the advantage to having vet zones.

There is an option for that. Reset all CP points. If you want to make it harder for yourself go ahead but don’t include me into it.

That actually doesn't make a huge difference - the bigger factor is that, as new players, people didn't understand the game's systems inside and out. Now that they do, the pros can faceroll through the overland stuff without CP. Knowing good builds, understanding animation canceling, proper gearing, etc, etc, etc.

You can turn off your CP. It's harder to turn off your knowledge of how to play.


(I suppose you could approximate 'playing badly' with self-imposed challenges like the old Diablo 2 "naked runs". Like "all white gear" or "no traits/no sets" or mag/stam hybrid, etc. But many "gotta be the best!" people don't enjoy that kind of thing.)
