Two-handed Weapons: Balance and Effectiveness Question....Again.

So, returning after.....a long time, we'll leave it at that, and I still kinda don't like the feel of DWing and I don't like magic, soooooo was wondering if 2H is still underpowered for PvE uses or has it somehow, against all logic, managed to be balanced between DWing.

Note, looking at the skills alone, I am assuming dual wielding is better than 2H, which makes me sad.

Fill me in with that good information, folks.

There's a guide somewhere in sub thread player guide for end game one. They were doing veteran trials and everything else. I remember because had mood of proving people wrong.

While in pve its still mostly used as buff bar thingy instead of the damage monster it is in pvp, i do feel like with a little bit more skill it is nicely viable nowadays. (DW certainly is the "easier" option still)
Now the problem is trying to convince others it is :P

For which type of content?

I'll assume PVE, cause 2H has always been good PVP. To answer the question, DW is still better. I would say 2H is viable though. They adjusted DW down a bit awhile ago, so it only has 6% of off hand weapon's damage over 2H now instead of the, what, 20% it was. 2H abilites have also gotten several quality of life and damage buffs.

I stated for PvE, mainly Vet Dungeons (which I've done a couple, one without a single CP because I forgot to reallocate them lol) and somehow did ok. I was just wondering if it was *** or not, and apparently it isn't entirely, according to you guys. As long as it's viable, I'll live.

Erm no.

It's the most OP Weopon option right now in PvP. Everyone runs it hell even some magika players run it back bar now lol

As for PvE, content is so easy now bar 1% and if you getting into that and are good enough I'm sure you can make the DPS to make it work.

Since Morrowind changes to sustain, DW became even better since heavy attacks from DW are faster than 2h ones. Not to mention that with one more gear piece you can have more sets active than with one less piece, etc.

playing all weapon lines on my chars I can say that my 2handed users are just as good, even better in dps then just DW users.

the only point I still see as a point to needs some attention: if slotted any 2handed weapon, it should count as 2 spots filled with that weapon to be able to play with the same 12 spots of gear filled.
I think that is fair enough.

2H is useless in PVE ? . 2H > Dual wield especially for solo PVE. I can solo a world boss with 2 H with brawler up all the time with forward momentum. With Dual wield it would be difficult. Once boss below 50 percent , spam reverse slice with brawler up.

2h isn't as good as DW III PvE, but imo it's much more fun because of how hard it looks like your hitting enemies

I will agree that it's more fun, and by "Balance properly", I mean both for PvE and PvP, aka proper balancing so one weapon isn't basically built for one part of the game.

That said, I've made up my mind and I'm going forward as a Support DPS, since it seems to be working at the very least for vet dungeons and ***.

Gonna bring back the Holy Warrior peeps, just you wait and see XD

2h is good in PvE. Awesome AoE damage and good single target. If you only care about the full damage parse of st boss, yes dw is higher. However my position is that majority of boss fights only get challenging in execute phase, where 2h has a large dps advantage over dw (for all classes that lack an execute). Combined with asylum 2h for frequent ultis in execute, it makes those boss fights easier.

Templar should be fun with 2h. Get an asylum 2hander with war machine and cheap class ulti. He'll be an executioner beast.
