Switch to pc? is it worth it?

So i have been playing eso on PS4 since it came out.

I have a max level toon of each class. 2 templars, one for heals and another for pvp.

a house
all the dlcs,

tons of mounts, pets, cosmetics, skins etc.

multiple active guilds

most of the best armor sets in good traits, crafted and drops

almost maxed crafter.

is it worth it to switch over to pc?

ive played an hour two during the free weekend and some of the better things ive found are these:

add ons
guild trader is wayyyy better
graphics seem slightly better. even though i am playing at 1080 100fps instead of the 4k hdr on ps4pro.

and thats about it.......

is there any real reason to switch and start all over?

if i do i would only roll one character which would alleviate alot of grinding.

however i have alot of real world money and not to mention time invested in the ps4 version.

after playing a couple hours i dont see that its worth it as I have a slew of other games to play right now.

thoughts?

your own experience in switching to pc?

I wish I had started on a console.
Addons are playing the game for PC players. And they think they are good on top of it.

I dunno, seems like a LOT of work/time/money for the sake of slightly better graphics and addons... If you've survived this long without addons, I have no doubt you can continue to enjoy the game without them.

slowly switch. Keep grinding pc till you’re ok to switch. I’d personally quit than start over. Almost do when I create a new toon

It doesn't have to be an abrupt switch. You can get a copy of the base game for cheap right now. Play on it once a week or so, see if you start to build connections to other players and guilds. If you do, you can start to make the time and money investment in it, of not, your console will be waiting for you to come back, and you're out minimal investment.

PC is much better than console for a host of reasons. If you were just starting out id say go for PC instead of console. But if you have a lot invested in console already, then only you can make the decision on if its worth it to you. I do know that if they ever decide to "downsize" the first thing to go will be consoles since consoles limit development ability and are more of a pain not to mention pc has a healthier pop AFAIK.

do you mind redoing months worth of progress? disregard the bitter jealousy of people who think addons actualy play the game for you - they do not, they just remove a lot of the annoyances and improve quality of life. however... you have been enjoying the game without them. are they worth starting over for? the bigger thing I would say is no longer needing to pay for ps plus, but if you are planning on keeping it active anyways, then that bigger thing is inconsequential. and now for the biggest. if you have a good enough PC - performance is significantly better. both framerate and graphics in general. I think latency is better as well. is THAT worth losing months worth of progress for? only you can decide.

personaly.. i don't like switching platforms. I don't like starting over. I can't even bring myself to try and start something on EU servers, let along a completely new platform. but that's just me.

I have 900 cp on xbox and 200 cp on pc. I started playing pc a while back in hopes that performance would be better for pvp, something that we should never have to do.. But i did, and i dont think its much better. The add ons are awesome. The community is different, i favor xbox tbh. But playing in vivec it seemed just as laggy, if not pretty close, as xbox..

Ive heard from others that performance is a bit better though, this is just my experience. When i get the time ill grind some more cp and try again.

I gave up on it. I started on PS4 and have a CP 471 DK. I really only PvE and enjoy the questing. I've done Cadwell's Silver, Orsinium, and Morrowind. I've just started Clockwork. During this time I built a new gaming PC with a 1080 Ti. ESO looks very nice maxed out in 4K at a mostly 60 FPS on that system. But! I'm a dad gamer and the amount of time I'd need to put into the PC to catch up is just too daunting. I've since just mentally committed to the PS4 and it is fine. I get the same enjoyment out of the experience albeit a bit less eye catching and smooth. Your situation may differ and switching might be, not only feasible but fun. I did enjoy starting over on a lot of the quests with a fresh account.

Not if you have a lot invested like you say you do. I started on PC and changed to PS4 Pro and its just as good tbh. Yea no addons but they arent really needed especially with all the updates to buffs and stuff which display on console now. And if you think the game runs better it really doesn't, I mean it does hit 60fps here and there but in most towns it drops just as bad as console if not worse, and I say that as someone with an i7 3820, 16gb ram and a 1070 8gb. Don't get me wrong I think the PC version is probably the best overall but its not worth starting over.

I wouldn't if I were you, not with all that invested.

I play in my more serious bigger blocks of time on a desktop where I've got all the add-ons which I think is the biggest difference, but I think it is largely quality of life, ease of skyshards and such. Some of the add-ons have helped me LEARN a rotation, or debate a build, but once I have it down, I often turn them off.

I play here and there on a laptop I just haven't gotten around to putting the add-ons on and it isn't a big deal.

Each to their own, but PC is 100% not for me. Battle of the add ons, machine differences, hacks etc etc. At least on console the factors in playing difference are lesser, you k ow when ur beat by someone.

Switched to PC , the only good thing i found about PC is the better performance if you have beast CPU (4 to 5ghz+) .i am 500 cp on PC but i dont enjoy it much , cuz i miss all of my PvP guildies , and the lack of integrated voicr chat is a HUGE downside for me .

Seems like a lot of work. But I have played all 3 versions at one time or another around family and friends houses, including the upgraded console versions in 4k and people are kidding themselves if they think these versions can match the graphics on a decent PC.
On ultra settings with a re-shade, mods and Nvidia freestyle the PC version dominates graphically IMO. On my system the game rarely drops below 100fps even in cities.

But if you are not bothered by graphics then I don't see many advantages, given all the time you have put into the PS4 version.

If you PVP then stick to console because apparently according to some people that's where all the best players are.......yea.....right......lmfao :D

I did the switch aswell, but I was only like cp 400 on the ps4. In my opinion the game is just alot better on pc, less lag on pvp, shorter loading, better graphics, add ons for quality of life, nice guilds if you actually join their discord etc.

Honestly, I haven't played this on any console but if you guys got even more lag on there, I truely feel sorry for you. While I sit at 100-150 ping during the day, I get constant disconnects and huge ass ping in PvE in the evening. It's nearly like I can set the clock by it. PC EU.

If you want a level playing field, you have to play on console. On PC you will be fighting people using miat's-style add-ons and cheat engine in cyrodiil. In PvE, you will be playing with raiders who need raid notifier to be able to dodge attacks, and they will expect you to run the same. In the marketplace, you will compete with resellers who run around to every guild trader and have an add-on that tells them every underpriced item to buy and what to relist it at, just to make a couple gold pieces.

But add-ons also are really useful like combat metrics, guild trader UI improvements, skyshards, lorebooks.

To me, your decision would hinge on how you feel about above points. And also how you feel about text chat (PC) vs voice (console), and input methods (I refuse to play a game like this with controller).

i did it, it was worth it by far for better performance and addons. and its been 6 months of playing and im cp 620 with just as much as i had on my almost 900 cp xbox account.

alt since you know whats good/ not good already you wont waste time making bad set combos and everything.

i still have a bunch of gold sets on pc but i went straight for BIS first before making fun stuff instead of having to figure stuff out like i did on xbox

EDIT: but FYI addons are QOL, someone said they make us better but i do absolutly nothing better on pc that i did on xbox. i can just make more informed decisions from data i can get

If it wasn't for my guild I probably would have switched to PC a long time ago. If you have your friends on PS4 then I would stay there but if they have made the switch to PC then I would go there. For me the game is more about where my friends are than having to grind/level again. We are always going to have to grind/level/farm something some where, may as well do it with your friends to mitigate the boredom :)

Sort of in a similar situation as the OP.... mainly its the add-on's that I envy the most.

Is the $39.99 PC version of Summerset (WHAT"S IN THE BOX!!!, sorry ...always reminds me of 7even) the one that includes base game, morrowind, and Summerset, and allows you to start with morrowind immediately?

Also, is there much of a difference playing the game through Steam or not ?

I would be tempted to start off with a Warden, since it still feels fresh and I never really used the one I had on Xb1.

My main issue (and its not exactly logical) would be to have to do the research all over again for crafting....that drove me crazy.

    Thanks

No, that is not true at all.....with the exception of Miat's add-ons, which have been greatly disabled finally.

PC is superior in every way. A console, with ANY game, can never match a PC in performance or flexibility.
