I'm wondering you guys satisfied with side quests in the game? I don't mean big or important ones. You know there are lot of side quests on different zones but most of them not really rewarding. They giving small XP reward, sometimes worthless items. What do you think?

I think they add colour to the game. There are some side quests that I look forward to on every character.

Meanwhile there's a quest that I refuse to do after I did it the second time because the choices make me mad (and I'm ok with that)

i like them, but to be honest, i stopped bothering with them because the xp is pathetic. you get more exp killing a few mobs out in the wild then spending 30 minutes running all over the place and getting 1k xp and a green item you will just sell

I'm exactly saying that. They can be more engaging, more rewarding. I really like doing quests on MMORPGs but only If they give me a good story or XP. As I seen it lot of TESO quests don't have this qualification.

I personally would like to see more side quests in the game. It's a RPG for crying out loud. You roll into town and only one family has a problem? I'm looking at you Balmora. I would like to see more, how we are out of healing supplies - go get x herbs, pack of nix has been troubling travels - go kill x nix hounds, and my daughter/son has been missing for days, they head down to get mushrooms - go look for X.

Also, an easy way to add more content to the game, would be to add repeatable and daily quests to each zone. Here is an idea that I thought would be kind of cool. Each zone would have 3 areas that would offer 1 daily and 3 repeatable quests. Each daily would offer some gold and exp and each repeatable would offer a little less gold and exp. If you ran 3 dailies in one zone and 7 repeatable quests you would get a reward of the worthy. This reward would of consist of 1 piece of gear from the zone's dungeon loot table, randomly selected. If you did 10 more repeatable quests in zone, you would get a second reward of the worthy, which would consist of 2 pieces of gear from the group dungeon's loot tables, randomly selected. After two rewards you would not be able to get any more rewards of the worth from that zone.

For example: In Rivenspire, The Oldgate could be one daily. Dailies could be, kill x number of zombies from Hinault Farm or kill x number of zombies in Moira's Hope. Repeatable for the area could be, 1. go collect weapons from Hinault Farm. 2. go collect gear from Moira's Hope. 3. go collect x number of x nods.

Fell's Run, Northpoint, Camp Ranmrith, and Shornhelm could be possible locations for dailies.

Basically I like the side quests but I agree the xp should be better.

I think it would be great to have more side quests related to the main story line in a zone and would unlock once you finished the main quests. They could put more depth into the story, maybe contain some lore about the npc's you worked with before. Or some clean-up quests where you can drive your enemies out of a place once and for all, as long as they aren't delves of course. Something like clearing the cultists out of the mine in Balmora after you finished the Vvardenfell quest line. Or help rebuild Firsthold in Auridon when you finished the Dominion quests. Helping npc's reopen their shops and chase after some remaining daedra. Just small optional side quests to conlude the story.

I think the side quests are fine. Most of them aren't amazing, being pretty standard RPG fare that I'm familiar with from Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind.

maybe change the loot pool and add things like furnishings. Not recipes but actually furnishings

    make the loot useful.

I like them, but most are just really short 'fetch' quests. The side quests in this game could certainly be longer.

I like the side quests. For those that play for the exploration and story, they give a reason and something to do in the areas they are in. I think they help in exploration completionism. I do agree that their xp and item rewards are rather light, some more xp would help those leveling by questing. I noticed that the Morrowind release gave more detailed and longer quests that required traversing over a larger area than the old side-quests but some areas were then left empty, with not even a fetch quest or something.

I like them for the additional lore, stories and depth they add to a zone - you get to know people better and find out more about what's going on in each map by doing them than if you only did the main story. I don't care how much XP they give - before One Tamriel I was always over-levelled for what I was doing, so the last thing I needed was more XP, and now it doesn't matter because everything scales. Same with items, if I get a useful drop it's great but if not I can use it for trait research or break it down for crafting materials and make something I can use.

But I also like that you don't need to do them, it gives me the choice to customise each characters experience.

I do like some of the side quests but it would be nice from ZOS to have a small team who is adding more side quests slowly so you have to go back to the long forgotten areas plus new players can have more and more quests.

But to be honest bit overwhelmed by the quests if you own the DLCs + Chapter(s).

The quests themselves are fine. ESO has a ton of really great stories in its quests. The only issue I have is how long it takes to do every one of them. I can't dedicate that amount of time anymore. I've done it more than once already. I don't feel like I am missing out by skipping most side quests since I have done them all at least once, some more than that. I think my first play though took something like a year, because I did every single quest, and I was doing a lot of crafting and researching traits, and then I started a second character for some reason so was back and forth between the two. It was just too long to want to do it again anytime soon.

The thing is, you have to complete a specific number of quests per zone to gain the achievements and titles.

Side quests, by there vary nature, are not complex. Also, while the Exp/Gold/Loot is low, most side quests are at a quest hub, so your covering the same ground as the quest for that town or area anyway.

Could they be fleshed out, sure. Could there be more of them, sure. Should they offer huge amounts of Exp? Probably not, as taken in aggregate with all the other quests in the hub, it all adds up.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Did try to finish up quests for achievement in Cyrodiil and noticed that most quests forces you to travel long distance to fetch items or deliver a message/item. Stories in Cyrodiil seem not be on the same level as in PvE zones.

I suppose it is to provide easy targets for PvP players. On that note I only got ganked once while finishing up the second phase on dolmen.

Why couldn't Zeni have made Cyrodiil to a zone where there would be a timer for complete deadric invasion each week where all alliances could work against each other or choose to coop like the main plot in story line for rest of Tamriel? That way both PvE and PvP would have an objective related to story lines in ESO.

the one thing i would like is a separation between what the main alliance story line is, and what is a side quest.

That way you know which ones offer the progression and skill points.

sometimes i get side tracked (pun intended) and dont know where i left off.

Satisfied? Not sure if I'm "satisfied" with them only because they're repetitive and serve no purpose other than gain exp/trinkets.

More times than not, I find them as a chore, not something I'm eager to do. There are exceptions. Some quests are quite memorable and enjoyable.

The Festival of Baan Dar is one of them. Not thrilling by any means, but I love doing it every time I alt.

I'm here for the story in the first place, and mostly I satisfied with both main and side parts of it. Some of the side quests are great, some are not so great, but overall I like them. Now, when I finished literally all solo quests on my main, the game feels kinda empty to me.
