Theme or plot after Planemeld and the Daedric Triad

The main storylines so far involve Molag Bal's attempt to take Nirn and a long-game con we don't quite understand that was set up between Clavicus Vile, Nocturnal, and Mephala. Once their plan has been fully exposed/foiled, what about the next big thing?

Share what you *think* will happen next and/or what you *hope* happens next.

A few of the many possibilities include:

- a larger Daedric conflict growing out of the first two plotlines in which players have to choose a side
- a return of Molag Bal from a different angle than the planemeld, either as an antagonist or as an ally of convenience (this can tie in with the above or stand alone)
- a threat from a race/group of races near Tamriel such as the Sload
- a threat from within Tamriel from some forgotten or neglected source (e.g. an intact and newly awakened Ehlnofey, a deadly plague, etc.)
- a non-Daedric extraplanar entity of great power, such as a forgetten Et'Ada or a wayward Magne Ge
- loss of contact with/priestly power from one or more Aedra
- a plea for help from a race well-outside of Tamriel, either known (like a group from Akavir) or unknown continent or island chain
- as a spin on the one just above but from outside of Nirn: the arrival of a floating island or city from another plane with a mysterious race, or, being called to such a place on another plane
- and so on, and so on

Again, those are just a fraction of the possibilities.

So where would you like to see the story go next?

For what it's worth, I would prefer something without Daedra (or as least without the Princes being in the foreground), focusing on mortal races and threats, more of an exploration/conquest and politics/intrigue affair.

    - a threat from a race/group of races near Tamriel such as the Sload

Spinning off from this: a threat from a reanimated Mannimarco and the Sload, and we're going to see Vanus Galerion's final battle and death as a part of it.

I concur we kind of need to get away from Daedric invasions; I'm already starting to wonder how there is anything left of Nirn by the time Tiber Septim shows up.

I feel like molag was meant to lead into an anti hero role. Just read some of his quotes at dolmena, and the end of story. Basically how he says that you could help him, and there are far worse masters than him.

It may have been a twisted attempt to save nirn by merging it with himself so that he can protect it. Very much like Sotha Sil's own plan. More caring about the final outcome than the side consequences.

Meridia cult in the Hammerfell Chapter going above and beyond to wipe out Nercomancy and attempts to summon their Prince to Nirn. We get to interact with Sir Cadwell again during the whole process, as well as Skordo and Gabriela, who is desperately trying to save the weakened Darien.

Murkmire will probably end up being akin to CWC and preludes to all of this in a vague warning from the Hist about Meridia plans.

Sload's invasion will most likely be a focus of next DLC in the form of a dungeon and Maormer as mini zone DLC later in the year (or the other way round) to close up the Summerset story. When you think about it. There isn't really that much about Sload or Maormer in the main quest for this chapter.

As for the next chapter in 2019...I can only guess, as they haven't left as many obvious clues. We will most likely get a big hint in the Q4 DLC later this year.

Murkmire is still a good bet for a location for a chapter, but as for the story...?
Everything is wrapped up pretty well. Molag Bal's warning at the end of the original storyline about trying to save Nirn from "worse masters than I" is explained. Darien's story is finished (at least the Darien we met questing in Rivenspire). The Prophet's final warning and the associated chain of events with the Daedric triad are at an end. Even the prophecy about Naryu's daughter (trying to) destroy the world given at the end of the Sweetroll Killer questline from the Gold Coast zone is complete. It's a clean slate for the writers in terms of any large narrative.

I suppose one thing that could be viewed as "left open" as a stepping stone to a larger story is answering what happened to Meridia, but they don't need to. They can just leave it alone and say that she eventually recovered.

Not that I pvp all that much but I'd love to see an expansion to the three banners war, maybe more story focused on what the alliances leaders are planning in the long run. I kind of envision 3 new 2 faction only zones around the main body of cyrodiil, to the west the Colovian highlands where battles are fought between AD & DC, east the Nibenay Valley for AD & EP, and north the Jerall Mountains for DC & EP. Could be fun?

Sure. And it would allow for more interaction/quests...
[A]dd a quest-giver for each faction in the capital cities that are availably ONLY after doing your home faction's storyline for each of the spy groups (the Ring of Daggers, Eyes of the Queen, or Hidden Armigers). These are unique to each faction, so if you want to do the EP spy dailies then you need to roll an EP toon. Each faction's primary concerns and identities can be explored with these quests. And it isn't all or even mostly about messing with other factions ("steal the plans for X"). These quests can give insights into treaties, trade deals, bandit problems, and other internal political stuff.

These kinds of things can help set factions apart in the minds of players so that you can better differentiate and choose a faction. This then spills over into the Alliance War as well, and gives additional context and motivation to shout "For the Pact", "For the Queen", or "For the Covenant!"

Summerset end hints at something involving Meridia. It hints that Meridia is more sinister than initially believed.

I also heard a guard dialogue gives hints to this but I have not personally beaten Summerset yet to confirm this.

The new Auroran stuff also may be a hint that we will see her Auroran daedra later on proper. We technically see one in the game already, but its just a golden saint model.

Why would Meridia be all that bad? Her father is Magnus. If I had to choose one Daedra to live with on nirn, I would rather have Meridia than Molag Bal. At least she likes sunlight, everyone can still go to the beach. Shes kind if like an over protective controlling mother. Not a psychopathic, sado-masochistic, torturing *** that likes miserable freezing darkness.

I'd prefer something more grounded in the everyday world of Tamriel, a political/war/invasion type of plotline, perhaps something to negotiate an end to the Alliance War.

But enough for a while with the daedra and end-of-the-world plotlines.
I find it to be a returning problem in many franchises, be it games, books, tv shows etc.; a kind of "apocalyptic fatigue" that sets in when writers continually threaten all out doom. It loses its impact.

Just a thought... In the lore it says Meridia was out cast from Aetherius for "consorting with daedra." Thats when she became a Daedric prince.
Wouldnt it be funny if when she was young and stupid at the dawn of creation and had a thing for "bad boys", the daedra she consorted with was Molag bal. And now theyre eachothers ex from hell.

Murkmire could be a standalone story like Wrothgar where we could get a Mortal or Hist or smth not daedric related antagonist or antagonist group like a villanious Argonian tribe like the one in Mazzatun or a Cult of Sithis which try to end the world in their own way (an off shoot of DB maybe)
