Why are those with the Duelist title the most salty when you beat them?

When dueling , it seems like the most whispers and the most hate comes from those with that title when you win against them.. what gives ?

They probably "earned" their titles by having someone die repeatedly.

Or spamming duel invites against PVE toons around undaunted enclaves.

You can tell a lot by a persons Title.

If you run Duelist, it is probably because you want people to think you are a super good 1v1 fighter, in which case, they'd be salty if they lose to someone they see as lesser.

I just run Standard Bearer because I want people to think that I have standards.

I play a character called "Gives Me Wood Elf" because I am a mature and sensible person.

Still don't understand why people care about things people say when their characters are killed.

You killed them, you earned the right to ignore them. B)

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Back before proc sets were introduced there were certain setups that were considered completely unfair in a dueling situation. Believe it or not, encase and dk talons actually use to be considered unfair due to resource limitations. So anyone who attended duels for the sole purpose to win through these means were often the topic of insults and complaints.

Fast forward. Now everyone cheeses their butts off in non tournement duels and with that came an increase of player egos. There are people who've just started pvping, using the most broken Stam setup possible, that are wrecking most players regardless of skill.

They get the title and fight someone who's either better at being cheesy or someone who is so insanely good that they seem to ignore meta completely and steam roll anyone, and they just can't handle that they might not be the all star gamer the wanted so badly to believe they were.

I get salty at the game tbh. I dueled a good friend and great player on his magdk while he was testing zaan. In duels you can't really out maneuver the beam without being in danger of going out of bounds, so he empowered leaps me, zaan procs, talons me, I roll dodge and zaan ticks for 7.5k during the roll and decimates me. After I complained we had a good laugh about it, because we both understand that the skill gap for this game shrank long ago.
