Greetings Gamers!
I share a frustration that has been expressed in multiple threads; why is limited time swag exclusive?
I believe that this is a business decision, and I feel that this short scenario shows the model working in favor of generating that impulse buy.
I wander through one-third tamriel, and ocasionally see a tigeresque sench mount that makes me green with envy. “How did you get that mount?” “It was a reward for being subscribed...........”
A few months pass: I log into the test server to play with motifs, and a new Senche is in the crownstore: Dro’M Athra Senche. I ride it , falling in love with the first mounting animation and wait with bated breath for it to hit the crownstore.
Time passes: There it is, the mount I desire with all my sench loving heart, 2000 Crowns (or was it 4,000?) for a limited time.
I thought to myself “that is far too expensive for something that only provides style. It is so cool though.... and I will never have the chance again... but I didn’t budget for this expense.... it will taunt me for the rest of my ESO days! If I cut out some food items and turn up the A/C a few degrees for the month, I’ll have enough to buy the crowns.”
And I bought that awsome Senche on the last hour it was up.
I would have bought it anyway. I just would have saved for it instead of cutting up my budget and ruining steak night if I could.
But, that is the heart of why I think swag is exclusive. They want that pressure on us, the crown shoppers, when they come out with new swag.
