And this is to entice me into buying this upcoming season of Crown Crates...? Yeah? I’d put this on the same level of bs as when you all gave me double S&B during double drops in VMA, or when you gave those poor people lockpicks in their event coffers. You could’ve kept that crap, and I’d have felt better. Free or not. Smfh.

Edit: I forgot to mention that that scamming Khajiit is now forbidden to set foot anywhere within my estate’s walls. I mean if I catch that ass anywhere, he’s getting strong-armed. It’s going to be a misunderstanding if I catch him again.

LOL, that would make me almost as salty as those event lockpicks and finding out that outfit slots are NOT account wide. Who the hell even is excited to get niche emotes in their crates? I havnt even bought the crown store ones as they should be base game

It's not like you got nothing though, you got a few cosmetics and pets you didn't already own. I mean if you go into these considering only the legendary apex mounts worthwhile then you're always going to consider these bad.

I got an extremely ugly pig pet, a skin that doesn't work properly on Khajiit (and I only have Khajiit characters), and an emote that should have been included in the main game at launch (I see you). I got the skin twice.

If you want to give away free stuff to entice your customers, don't throw with feces.

Then take things an extra step forward, and encourage others to avoid said crates by all means possible.

I’m going to put you all in on something I was taught by family members, and friends. Whenever you enter a gambling setting and or environment (e.g. Las Vegas, Atlantic City, etc.), strictly stick to Poker and Blackjack. As that way you have better odds having some form of success. And when you win remotely big, immediately cash out and stop. No matter if you’re feeling lucky, on a streak, or whatever. You stop, and bail. And even then, you enter into the scene with an expectations of failure. That way you’re never disappointed, and end-up crashing and burning. You go down a winner, no matter how small. And always leave with more than you started with.

I think it's a mix. Firstly whilst I am cynical enough to believe part of this is marketing to give people their first taste and get them hooked I do also think it's something ZOS wants to do for the community to make people have some fun and get them logging in for a weekend.

If you're not getting tempted it just means you've got stronger will against this kind of marketing, however if that's the case it's not aimed at you. There will be some people who will use these, be upset they didn't get X or enjoy the rush of opening crates then go on and buy more.

I'd be happier if there was a better exchange rate for crown gems, because at least then I might be able to get 1 thing that I'd like.

Yeah but all the people complaining are immune to the poison apparently (they always say they won't buy more crates).

They're just expecting to get 0.01% drops every single season because free crates means statistics don't apply.

If this is the most unlucky 3 free crates, you are a lucky man. I got the same (nearly exactly) without the coronet.

And as there was the cat I count is as a lucky draw.

I for one will never be mad about the free crates. It’s a bonus, a chance, and it only requires me to do what I would do anyway - login and play the game. So it’s really not maddening when the crates contain mostly items you immediately cash in for gems.

The bought ones are a different story though.

Those gems after a while will also let you buy something you actually want, or just skip some time/gold costs in game (riding lessons, XP scrolls etc.)

Crates suck, free crates are still sucky crates but cost you nothing and give you things you would otherwise never have.
