What did YOU get in your free Scalecaller Crown Crates ?

I should not have mentioned how having an XP scroll as a legendary item was a total troll move. I sure enough got one. To add to the troll, I think t only converted to 13 crown gems.

For reference, the RoM motif book I got on the other account is worth 33 if I chose to convert it. I'm on the fence about that conversion.

I also got a dragon priest mask on my alt account that looks pretty cool.

Everything else is bad tattoos, head decorations, and consumables. RNG wise, I ended up well above the average numbers in terms of how many higher level items I got on both accounts. However, the RoM motif book is the only good item. I will probably convert it to gems at some point since I don't really care about the motif and it is not worth investing in motifs to improve master writs given their low value and the fact I have 1.5k of them stacked up. My last free crates felt better with a nice looking outfit and tattoo I like even if these actually yielded more high level items. I have 80 or so gems though so I may get a mount next time around. Hopefully they do a ftp event and I get enough gems to maybe snag the elk this time around.

Whilst you're not wrong I think you're misunderstanding why people are disappointed. If anyone expected gold weapons and armour from crown crates they were seriously misinformed because the crates have never included useable equipment (and I think there would be a major uproar on the forum if they did).

But a lot of people like cosmetic items too and could be very happy with the crates if they got cosmetic items they like. But cosmetics are highly subjective so the chances of getting stuff you like the look of from a box of random items is pretty low, which means the majority of people, even ones who like cosmetics, are going to be disappointed.

I'd rather get something besides trash in the collectibles department. Though, these crates are a great reminder that I'm not missing out because I can't afford to buy them. And confirmation that our results are indeed "tweaked" by our previous purches. I've spent a LOT on other seasons when I had more income. Hm.... wonder why I get only trash?

Well by that logic I should be getting amazing drops, since I've never bought a crown crate. But I only ever get trash from the free ones. Best/rarest I've ever gotten was a pet from the 100 gem category which I already had. Everything else was consumables and items from the 16 gem category I never use.

RNGesus was not on my side. (must not of liked my throne joke) A headpiece, an emote, a research scroll, potions and poisons. Sadly I can't get rid of the first two but the rest traded back for 20+ gems.

I'm mildly disappointed that I'm about 40 gems short of being able to buy the elk mount, that would be a good use for the gems I've been saving up.

I know it was sold directly, but it was absurdly expensive (worked out about £24 if I remember correctly). I like the mount but not that much. But if I was able to get it free it would be great.

Got a 5 card draw with Frostbane Guar, I see you there, and the spooky levitating rune thing plus the gems for the rest so all in did alright.

Haven't really paid attention to these sorts of events before, but I played all weekend with two characters and got one total. My wife has one character and played half as much as me and she got two!? Someone said I might've played too much, but that seems odd.

my partner did get a 5th card in one of the crates... a tapestry/banner thing he didn't even want.
oh well. I got a flame senche in one of the free fire atro crates and he got a black camel, masked bear and flame bear.

Sat here with a smirk expecting more disappointment and trash... pulled a few xp scrolls, lots of potions/poisons/meals... and then a big white elk mount and full Mazzatun motif. Which is especially nice as I rarely do group content and didn't have any pages of that on my crafter.

But the really bad thing that followed... immediately I was consumed with adrenaline, excitement, and a need to open more. These things may not meet the definition of gambling from a social stand point, but they absolutely have the potential from a psychological perspective.

I half expected ZOS staff to bust in here, remove all clocks, block out all natural light, and start bringing me free drinks. Maybe even comp me a dinner while they were at it to.

I am happy with my 3 crates. I got several Gold Coast experience scrolls, several poisons, several riding lessons, and a mastiff. My new alt that I built to level up with the build advisor will use all this. Ok, maybe not the mastiff, I'm not a fan of the non-combat pets, but I do see others traveling around with them.

well I was at work and looking at other peoples hauls and i called it that i would get that ugly face tattoo…yep first crate.

then my second crate was an anomaly, i got and extra card! but strangely all it yielded was 2 tiaras and the vest outfit, so 3 mid level items off the second crate. 3rd crate repeats, so gems basically

but once these crates hit for real i have enough hems to grab something decent.
