Toxic people in dungeon group finder

ok so I have a level 28 dragonknight, I have a shield and a sword and have many one handed and armor skills, sadly recently I keep getting kicked from dungeon groups and/or a high level people always rage quits instantly or even insulting me directly by saying I should get cancer or some extremely toxic words. I created this character so I can actually play dungeon feature in this game but unfortunately I will never able to do that, I mean whats the harm? Its not like I'm a complete newbie to this game and I have a fairly good info about dungeons and game itself. Do I get attention to mobs too much in dungeons? In other words, am I pull monsters too much? But isnt this a Tank supposed to do?

I keep getting 20min deserter time because everyone leaving the group because of that one elitist person, ESO is the only game I have this type of problem, and I apologise for my broken english.
I hope I made myself clear and hopefully you understand

People suck. They're everywhere, and they won't go away. The best thing to do is shrug it off, understand they're likely unhappy people who will never get ahead in life, they will reap what they've sown, and just move on being thankful that you're not unhinged enough to lose your mind over a video game.

Pity them, and protect yourself and your circle.

If its a Normal dungeon, anyone griefing you is an idiot. Any decent higher level character can easily pull anyone thru.

Of you are rocking up to a trial, or vet dungeon hard mode then yep unless ur a tank if you have a shield you will get odd looks.

Best solution. Don't PUG. Play dungeons with mates, or get in a guild that supports progession and learn That way, they will.have crafters too.

Maybe post region / platform here and bet you get invites.

If this is happening consistently there must be more to this story. You say you're a level 28 tank, queuing as a tank into non vet dungeons (obviously as you're not vet) and you are constantly getting rage from other players and getting kicked? Is there any chance you're doing something else to anger them? If you can't think of anything else that might be annoying these players then you have the worst run of bad luck running into horrible people that I've ever heard in my lifetime.

At any rate, I highly recommend finding a like minded guild and try avoiding the group finder whenever possible. It really is the better way to run dungeons if it's at all possible.

Are you dying a lot, or are they raging at you simply for being low level? Since you're only level 28, you're not queuing into vet dungeons, so... if people are running normals and they're in the CP range, then they're raging at you because they're bad players. Normal dungeons are stupidly easy to solo once you're around CP200 or so. If the people raging at you are also low level, then you might be doing something wrong:

To be fair, I still run normals sometimes because I just want some dice rolls on the body pieces and weapons, and don't feel like paying attention to the dungeon.

Then you get the guys in normals who think it's SERIOUS BUIZNEZZ. Which... no, it's really not. It's a normal. Combined with, "yes, I really am a healer, I've got more healing than I need to keep your sorry *** breathing even when you stand in stupid, because it's normal."

And, yes, I once had someone go off on me for being a stam healer in normal. Spores, Vigor, Grove, and some DPS to make our lives less painful... yeah, I got this covered.

Its funny the level of garbage players you can find in random normals.
When I was leveling my StamWarden, I was running randoms as a tank. I found myself frequently being 50% of the DPS, even with 2 DPS at max CP.
If you are holding agro and stacking mobs, you shouldn't be getting that level of grief.

Yeah, pretty much. I still see this on my Sorc and Warden Tanks when I queue. I can't get my DK tank's damage up to 6k+, but, I've never been really solid on that class. To be fair... I usually just run the bear on my Warden tank because I can't be bothered to slot different ultimates.

Thanks for the replies, I just now completed a normal dungeon and surprisingly everything went fine and normal. I guess I got matched with some angry folks over and over. This time I got no mad insults from anyone and everyone said "bb" "thx for the run" so we all left the group in peace when its completed

I guess its a bad luck, I will try to play more and see how it goes

Yeah, I queue as a tank a lot, including on lowbies (I've only got one endgame tank), and I've rarely seen hate on them. My healers on the other hand... that's another story.

Anyway, joke's on them. I may look like a level 32, but I'm secretly a 720, just like that 221 wishes they were, before they rage quit anyway.

I run normals for the random daily bonus, and trust me, I know what you're talking about. :D Someone once raged at me for doing TOO MUCH DPS in normal CoH1. This was back in the days when I was only managing 20k DPS unbuffed. I'll never forget it: "you @$&ing sorc, I'm not looking to do a speed run."

I mean... it's normal CoH1, FFS. What did he want me to do? Light attack my way through the whole dungeon?

Judging by their last statement that it's the tank's job to get aggro it sounds like they're queuing up as a DPS with a one hand and shield equipped. I have two thoughts on this:

    1. One hand and shield is not a typical DPS weapon and this may be causing people to think you are not prepared for your role. (Although you don't need crazy DPS for normals anyway).

    2. If you are accidentally using the first ability from the one hand and shield skill line then you may be unintentionally pulling aggro. This could also be a source of frustration for others.

Honestly, I've PUG'ed a ton (used to only PUG exclusively) and never had that toxic experiences.

The most toxic run I've been in was when I was healing in a vet Pledge run and a CP capped tank was cussing out a DD because he was under CP160 doing a vet Pledge. When told to drop it and to just continue, he simply went afk. The other DD was also at CP cap and was doing 35k+ dps so we ended up completing the vet pledge on hard mode without the tank with little difficulty. (I believe the pledge was vet Elden Hollow II)

I've been running a ton of PUG random normals in recent days on my mDK that I'm levelling and I've not had any toxic experiences whatsoever. Most are just really silent, but that's it.
    Kiss the chaos.

It's funny you should mention that. A couple guildies and I got matched with a sorc in COH1 the other day who was using an ice staff and a bow, and light attacking everything... I was putting out about 6-8k on my tank, and soaking up about a quarter of the DPS.

On one hand, I feel kinda bad for them, because they were barely even seeing the bosses, on the other, I was pulling 25% of the damage on the tank.

Just saying people were a lot better before one tamerial and the buff to mobs health.

Now with level or skill adviser in such this issue above shouldn't be happening? The player should be confident enough to go into a random dungeons at least on normal. So now we should wonder what's going on still?

The only way to handle these problems would be to limit level visibility.

Not exactly the problem you described, but I tried to tackle something very similar in a thread before: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/394212/zos-please-detox-this-game-a-little-bit-show-other-peoples-cp-up-to-a-maximum-of-160

To be fair, it looks like that thread got locked because it degenerated into a flamewar. I'm not going to bother picking through it and trying to assign blame; that'd be pointless. However, it is something that was probably looked at and read by developers, even if they didn't comment.

Worth remembering, because of their status as developers, weighing in on a thread has vastly different consequences than if you or I snark off on a topic. You're more likely to get answers if you ask, "why this decision?" as opposed to when you make suggestions. In those cases, the most you can expect to see is a, "lurk."

EDIT: Also, with respect, the people who are looking for scapegoats wouldn't be deterred by being unable to see someone's CR. They'd simply latch onto other factors. Like, "do you have X title equipped or not," "what's your PvP rank," or "do you have rare and expensive motifs equipped to your outfit?"

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me to see people setting that as their de facto prereq for stuff like vBRF or vFH, flipping out at anyone who isn't wearing Dreadhorn or Bloodforged outfits.

While, the goal is good, some people are just going to be walking garbage fires, no matter what you do.

SAME EXACT happened to me! I was healing, the very lowbie DPS was dpsing, and a high DPS and I did it - I interrupted the adds he killed the boss, HM, the tank was AFK but stayed in group AND lol eventually DIED not even in the dungeon where we were - and we had no deaths but his death AWAY from the dungeon, even cost us the no deaths! xD I think the lowbie even got the speed clear IIRC.

    Funny coincidence!

Are you actually queuing as a tank? If your role is DPS but you're acting as a tank, that's bad.

Otherwise -- are you holding bosses in one place, facing one direction (which is not pointed at the rest of your group)? If you run around with them chasing you, that's usually bad too.
