P.P.S. god forbid we make a system even semi decent to someone who is not a completely new player. to hell with those veterans, amirite? must stop hypothetical abuse or something at the cost of regular players, of course.

A levelling up system rewards for a veteran player?

Let me guess, crown crates goodies, ability to store everything for another alt, a new mount each time a new character is created, a new costume and pet every time a new character is created, 200 experience scrolls...
    what did I miss?

What if you worked a job and they said "only new employees get to be paid for the last month", would you be alright with that?

This is a stupid analogy. Sorry.

    As is your entire argument.

    lol
    Is it now ?
So, explain to me how it should work?

While a new player gets Sorel Horse a vet should get some alternative because obviously they already have that horse.. A new player then could ask "why I get a brown horse and a vet player gets a different one"? And it could be like that with every collectable item.
So how many collectible "alternatives" should there be to satisfy veterans who most likely have all collectibles there were to collect except those that come in (future) crown crates or future store previews hmm? It somewhat suggests that every time a new character is created there should be a new reward. After all you crate and delete characters too, no? And I don't think it's what this system is designed for.

And now explain to me how your analogy relates to the whining about collectibles/rewards in this leveling up system? Because I don't see analogy at all.

I guess it would have made more sense, if from the start, ZOS designed unique items for the leveling up rewards..and there wouldn't be be this whining now "hey, I have got this one already, gimme some new shiny thing."

    How it should work?

Simple. Link the unlocks to having obtained the level, not the act of reaching the level. That way, everyone gets the same rewards, new and veteran players alike.

Why are so many levelling rewards bound to character? My poor alt needs an inventory bonus to carry around all the potions and scrolls and stuff she can't or doesn't need to use but which cannot be banked or even used by other characters. For example, take the Attribute and Skills reset scrolls. Can't be banked, can't be used on any other character. It so happens I don't want to reset this alt, because I knew what I was doing and don't need to rebuild her. OTOH, I do have an older character I do want to rebuild. Etc.

It would be a shame to have to destroy so much stuff but otherwise it's all just using up inventory slots for the indefinite future.

If you don't want them then destroy them. Your choice here.

A couple of reasons, which was easily deduced from various information ZOS released regarding these rewards:

    1) They are aimed at new players, but more specifically, getting new players to commit. That means, getting them to play a character up to CP level, to stick with it, and not reroll over and over.

    2) They don't want people farming rewards for other toons.

Granted, some rewards like the Crown Crates are account-wide already and I know of players who are farming those with grinding and bot trains, and have reported a few bot trains, and HEY ZOS, IT'S NOT LIKE WE DIDN'T TELL YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN, but yeah, the general point of the reward system is to get people to level that toon up, and not use low level toons you can easily discard and delete to get scrolls for your other toons.

I wish I could use the scrolls on other toons too, but I get ZOS' reasons for doing it this way. And i much rather they deal with with new bot problem they created anyhow.
PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

Why would there be bot trains for the crown crates, and how exactly can you farm them? They are once per account, not per character. So 3 max, period, and thus not farmable. Nothing in them can be traded either. So no use farming them on alternative accounts for a main account if you have more (as bot trains do). Making the crown crates account wide is extremely logical to me as all the rewards that drop from the crates are account wide anyway.

I'm sure lots of players would like to bank the respec scrolls and restoration potions so they can use them on their higher level toons. And when they run short just create another character and level them up. Rinse and repeat as often as you like because you get them at fairly low level.

That's why they are character bound.

As I've already pointed out, the attribute and skills respect scrolls are level 43. People are not going to be levelling up multiple alts just to avoid earning 15k in credits. It simply is not going to happen. And that means not being able to use such rewards on other characters is churlish and short-sighted.

People may not but bots can. There's also exp scrolls and plenty of crown potions that you get.

Simply start a new character, level it up, and receive your rewards. It’s pretty simple really.

But, yes, I’m very sorry for those master crafters who have three Apex mounts at their Alliance manor ... and have to level up another character to get their Sorrel Horse and Crown consumables.

Leveling rewards are intended for new players ... therefore the scrolls are character bound.

In addition, players would just abuse the system by banking these and then deleting the character.

Nonsense. The time and effort you'd have to put it to get up the levels to get the rewards simply isn't worth it once you've got your first and only Sorrell Horse and Storage Chest. For example, the respec scrolls are level 43, for heaven's sake. You can make the 15k or so you need to respec in an hour or two. The point is they're wasted by binding them to the one character.

Nonsense. I can level a character from 1-50 in an hour or two and make 15k or more in that time.

      In your dreams, maybe.

No, in reality, could I level a character from 1-50 in a hour or two and make 15k or more in that time?

Probably more like 4+ hours and you'd be spending a lot more than you made. The fastest leveling available is getting skill points, learning enchanting and alchemy, and doing and then turning in a ton of Master Writ vouchers.
