Black Rose vs. Shacklebreaker

I did a short comparison and some calculations after hearing a lot of praise about Shacklebreaker and a lot of hate for post-nerf Black Rose. Some are saying that Black Rose is pure trash now, but I think maybe the meta crowd retired this set a bit prematurely. While I understand that part of Shacklebreaker's appeal is that it's craftable and good for both stam and magicka classes, let's just focus on the numbers for its sustain and bonus potential...

Black Rose
mag/stam regen: 488/sec potential (assuming you are getting beat on a lot and you are wearing all 7 pieces, you restore 1953 every 4 sec)
stat bonus: 1096 stam, 1096 mag, 1206 health (Edit: my bad, Esosets.com was wrong)
damage: 154 weapon/spell damage
-also: extra 10% health regen (not exactly a deal-maker but it's something)

Shacklebreaker
mag/stam regen: 454/sec potential (the 129 plus the constitution passive with all 7 pieces)
stat bonus: 2000 stam, 2000 mag
damage: 129 weapon/spell damage

Putting them side by side, it looks like Shacklebreaker only really wins out in the max stat bonus department. It's great for having a more well-rounded magicka/stamina pool, and probably a different story if you are going 5/1/1, but aside from that its bonuses aren't as high. Correct me if I'm wrong with my calculations. I'm working from wiki tool tips so they may be outdated. Can anyone confirm that these numbers are legit?

Blackrose gives both Stam and Mag.

So in the end you basically trade 1k Stam and Mag for 1k Health. The 1k Health has pretty limited use unless you need to reach a certain health level.

Yea you've got the wrong stats for black rose here. It gives stamina, magicka, and health for the 2/3/4 pc bonuses and spell&weapon damage plus the constitution boost for the 5 pc.

My question is; why not both? The key is black rose can be run with jewelry.

I think with the further nerfs to reduced block cost black rose becomes more valuable, especially on a hybrid tank (warden in my case) who uses both a shield and frost staff to split block costs between magicka and stamina

Shacklebreaker is basically a more flexible, offensive version of black rose

look at constitution again. its 108 per heave piece. so 756 every 4 seconds with 7 pieces. thats 189/s.
black rose gives a whooping 66/s for mag and stam. that is, IF you get hit.
not good if you need to los, are out of combat or not the target.
Black Rose has been *** since the Constitution nerf.

Yeah. But if you're using heavy and want to build tanky with great sustain, it's still up there among the good sets.

I still like black rose. Its not going to give as much as a full magicka or stamina recovery bonus because it does both, and it works while holding block (your recovery wont). Still a great set for tanks imo, especially those who aren't playing a certain class that can spam ult for resources
