remove Style

Chivahle

Soul Shriven
Fairly new back to ESO, tonight when I joined a Dungeon I was told to take off my style or be kicked. I tried to ask what they meant but they were being jerks. Can someone tell me what this means and why I would remove it please.

I cannot imagine what "take off your style" means in relation to doing a dungeon, or anything really.

They are terrible players and need an elite player to carry them, so they want to make sure you're wearing endgame trials gear.

I can only assume some people are not going to like seeing a tank in a light armour costume or a healer in a heavy armour costume, but I don't know what the issue is, costumes have been around for ever anyway.

Can you post a pic of your character? We may be able to get a better idea of what they were talking about. Maybe they were the elusive ESO fashion police.

That means absolutely nothing. they were probably elitist wanna be pros that feel better if they kick someone.

Maybe it was about weapons? Now you can change a 1h or 2h to other types they might have wanted to see what you were actually using. Tho maybe not if you're a high elf sorc - you're probably mag and staff...

Seems unnecessarily petty for just a dungeon tho, don't need to be that picky even for a DLC one

Thanks guys Im a lvl 33, sorcerer and was wearing the sand kissed Salwar ensemble. as the robe I had on was horrid lol. I never even got to say Hi before they stated "remove style or kicked". I had a feeling it was my vanity costume that was the problem but only played ESO a few hours since BETA. so thought I had missed something major. I left group right away. Thanks for all the comments

All jokes aside, even the bad ones in this thread...

Are you on Console? There are some Polypmorphs that may cause some lag in combat on that platform. I have not noticed it on PC, nor have I heard anyone mention it. So, if your on PC, well, ignore those people.

I am not sure if the Polymorphs are even an issue on the consoles, maybe it was fixed, as i have not heard this mentioned again until today. Maybe it was never an issue in the first place and someone put two and two together and came up with 3.14171

But, people held on to the mistaken belief that not popping pinions until the end guaranteed a Dolmen General at the Dark Anchors. Even after devs stated categorically that Pinions have nothing to do with General Spawns. Since your new, the Dark Anchors are those circles that get big chains and lots of Deadra to fight. Generals are the super bosses for those places and have a random chance to spawn.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

My Orc Ebon wearing tank was also wearing a dress until recently - now he is in armour but I've left the flowers in his hair!!!

OP has come back and said they are level 33 - so a non vet dungeon, should not really be any issue.

I know vanity pets in trials have caused issues and people get asked to put them away, maybe a similar issue I guess.

They were probably talking about an outfit/costume that covers your armor. They wanted to see if you were wearing the "right" type for your role. No one should be asking you to do this now.

A rather useless reason to demand someone remove their costume if you ask me. Seeing what their armor looks like tells you pretty much nothing about them, even if they do happen to be wearing the current FotM BiS. I've been in many groups where someone was wearing the absolute best gear with the best build and best rotations etc. etc. and he was hands down the absolute worst performer on the team.

To tell someone to take off their style or be kicked is is about as vague as it gets and can be interpreted in any number of ways.
And saying it in such a demanding way mere moments after a person join the group without any form of explanation , I cant even begin to understand the reasoning behind it.

I wouldn't want to be in a group with poisonous people who just want to bully someone. I'd rather leave than put up with that. It looks like they were just looking for an excuse to bully other players.
You have to wonder why people like that do PUGs in the first place.

Oh wait. I just answered my own question. They do PUGs because they think it makes their wees look longer if they get to bully a new player. They do it on purpose.

This is a strange situation. Has it really become eso fashion? But maybe it was broken English and didn't like gear you were using. Then again... maybe they wanted you in nude :scream:

Either way...you have my pity. :'(

I've never been in a group that asked someone to remove their costume. I agree with you that it's totally unnecessary. And if it's a normal dungeon..well, the people asking are not as good as they think they are (not by any stretch of the imagination). My guess is that they wanted to make sure the DPS was wearing light armor, the tank was wearing heavy armor, etc.

Folks, don't leave the group. Just let them kick you. I've heard reports that if you are kicked, your 15 minute timer disappears once you leave the instance.
