Which sorc ultimate do you use?

As a magsorc in pve the only magsorc ultimate I use is overload and that's just for the spell damage slot passive. The destruction ultimate is my main ultimate.
What do you use on your magsorc?

Overload

I know its not best but i am so used to my 3rd skill bar that i really cant part with it.
Iuse destro ult on the other bar.

Atronach

I use both overload and atro now. Can't go wrong with a third bar and the atro is awesome feeling to call down and 25% more DPS for the other dps for 8 seconds is nothing to sneeze at.

The primary thing I look for from an ultimate is 100% uptime passives.

My pet magsorc already has the daedric summoning passive from her pets so she double slots the Mages Guild ultimate - that one is not a bad ultimate but the reason she slots it is for the passives of having a MG skill slotted.

My bow/bow stamsorc double slots Flawless Dawnbreaker - again, not a bad ultimate but she primarily slots it for the FG passives. In her case, double slotting the storm atronach for its passives would be another viable choice.

I use Atronach on flags or choke points. Little buff and removal of AoE caps has finally made my favourite ability more viable. I love playing my Storm Mage type sorc and calling down Atronach makes me feel fully immersed (especially the AoE morph - it looks like it could shatter mountains! )

I alternate between Negate and Overload. I very rarely use Atronarch.

Stam Sorc here, so a bit off on what you were asking, but I Use Overload anyways. It seems people have this idea that it’s very bad on a Stam build, especially the heavy attacks.

I’m still somewhat learning the game and getting better, but my set up does very well I think. 2H with DE buff bar. Overload heavy attacks as a ultimate sink that does amazing AoE clearing while preserving my dawnbreaker for immediate use. And the option for occasional strong range damage when forced away from my target.

in pvp overload can hit 12k per second. You can literally kill anyone if you attack without being noticed because by the time they get hit, two projectiles are already in the air.

not to talk about the utility a 3rd bar can provide. So i would have voted Overload without a doubt for pvp, but i don't play that bullshift.

My sorce tend to go that way, some use their own favorite ulti, but must switch around as needed. And often also use weapon and guild ultis as well...

I've been on a dmg mitigation kick lately, trying to work that more into my builds and since the last update, I've been leveling up a sorc toon, my first sorc that hasn't been deleted before level 20, and I love negate, even in pve. Especially when my lowbie sorc is at stage 4 vampirism and I'm still not sure what i'm doing with this class and I just some annoying boss to stop hurting me so much.

Once he's a fully fledged toon with all his proper skills I might not use Negate as much in pve, but he's destined for Cyro at some point, which was the whole point of this toon anyhow--to be a pvp Negate champion.

Yes, starting to like sorcerer healing especially then the balls work better with patch.
360 degree emergency heal, high damage, 10 second shield, very good resource management.

Thank you for your input, I never though about this - i will certainly consider that.

My sorc is specifically a lightning mage so she uses overload and elemental storm, no pets/familiars

Sorc Ults suck in PvE. Meteor/Ele Rage all day.

You have Negate Magic for the extremely specific scenarios where it might be needed (gargoyles in vHRC HM, 2nd boss vMA, etc), but besides that Overload and Storm Atronach are generally terrible.

I’m still playing CWC though..... idk if anything changes in Dragon Bones. Apparently the Storm Atro has become desireable alongside the newest Destro Ult nerf.

Stam sorc player here weighing in.

All 3 have their uses.

Storm Atronach is actually super underrated as a pve DPS ult. The Tooltip damage on it for me is about 117k vs Dawnbreaker which comes out at 30k. In a long single target fight, Storm Atro is probably the best ultimate you can use.

Overload is either a super potent skill if you build around it, or a third bar. I've moved away from it recently due to bar swap feeling like trash right now, but having access to a plethora of utility skills at any time is great.

Negate is a new flavour of the month for me. I've been running it over overload in pvp for a bit now, and it feels super good. The cost is a bit hefty, but the healing is great, and it's ability to shut down aggression is second to none. Also it ruins Magplar's and Mag DKs days.
