Meteor vs Destro Ult

Running a mag sorc pve. Debating between Destro Ult and Ice Comet. Currently run lightning staff and netches touch. Which one do you use and why?

I've heard Shooting Star is better single target but I always parse higher with the destro ulti.

Use the greater storm atro, it is amazing now, lasts for 28 seconds now, wish more sorcs ran it while I was on my Stam dps, 25% more DPS for 8 seconds is no joke. Not sure if it will scale with netch but it ought to, ultis scale on whatever is higher. For trash fights have the destro ulti on your back bar though.

If you are running Netches Touch then go with Destro ulti, as the spell damage isn't going to buff Meteor.

If all things are equal, Meteor is overall higher single target damage if you are front barring it, as it is going to buff your magicka pool through mages guild passives, as well as dealing about 10% more single target damage than Elemental Rage.

Meteor also has a 20% lower cost, and will refund a portion of Ultimate on cast as well.

So if you want to burn down a boss that tends to stay stationary with no ads, then go with Meteor, otherwise Destro Ult with it's larger area is going to be better.

This. Destro ult or suppression field for aoe, greater atronach for single target.

I've actually been running Atro on my Stam Sorc. Mostly been using it if I am starting a boss fight and I have the ulti ready, otherwise I just go with Dawnbreaker.

I still want to see what the difference in damage is between the two, because Atro feels pretty good.

Just from very unclean and quick parsing the atro on stam sorc simply feels as good as ballista. And thats before considering it looks cool, gives 8% max health during it and the major berserk synergy...
plus little backbar stam regen if not using bound armor

I'm already running Bound Armour for the stam and Heavy attack damage, given that is currently the best you can run on Stam Sorc. I'm just wondering how it stacks up in the execute phase with implosion.

I used shooting star while farming to cp720, on my magicka sorc I could literally drop it twice in less than 10 seconds.

It appears the AoE cap removal also increases the ultimate gain. You get 12 ult per target hit but I think it previously only applied to the first 6 targets that took full dmg.

In some fights there are a lot of adds and if you can hit a couple meteor becomes a very cheap ult that deals good dmg.

Im staying away from atronach because I want the aoe. But what im getting so far leans on meteor and the shooting star morph for ult gain.

You can have both. Atro on one bar, the destro ulti or fire comet on the other.

With the fighters guild passive you get 9 ulti when killing undead, daedra or a werewolf, so that is prolly why your seemed to be generatong more ulti then normal, as you seem to know.

Yeah, maybe I just killed 11 daedra (99 ult) and hit 6 targets (72 ult) and got the next Shooting Star ready.

i really can't recommend the ulti enough now, it is better at single target then either of the one the op is asking about and it feels so cool while you are at it. i don't really have a meta build and it was doing 3-7k dps on bosses in dungoens i was running.

Ice Comet deal more damage vs bosses. I dont have problem with adds cause not use destro ultimate.

Fire dmg gets buffed more than frost, usually there's a DKs that debuffs the boss with Engulfing Flames which buffs fire dmg by 10%. Fire dmg can also cause burning so dmg wise I would still prefer Shooting Star tbh.
