I have 12 toons. Only 4 are vamps and I have no plans for any more right now. But I do give out bites free to anyone, so I guess I'm part of the problem. lol

PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

One sorc is a vamp just to see how it works. Doesn't look too bad on him.

But was with guildies in IC & they were all vamp nbs, even if stam based. My poor normal nb was frequently left behind as they sprinted off in sneak. But not going to turn him as don't want him to be a vamp. Don't care about the stam regen.

As a Dunmer MagDK, I love vampires. Come, burn in my cleansing fire.

as a dunmer vampire nightblade you'll never see my coming, and ill be more resistant to the fire than your average vamp anyway

    1. Werewolf needs to have a portion of its passives (and penalties) apply in human form.
    2. Vampire is fine.
    3. We need a third skill line for non-monsters to take that Vampires and Werewolves are locked out of.

None of my characters are vampires, and I intend to keep it that way.

I don't like vampire because of how it seems to be used as a de facto enhancement without much of a major drawback. The passives and the mist form appear pretty good.

I think it'd be better if vampires had a more noticeable drawback that isn't visual or by having vampire are not able to access another exclusive skill line for non-vampires.

no major drawback? I've literally played a vampire since I started the game in 2015, and I have to ask: do you have any idea what their fire susceptibility, and reduced HP regen feels like? It's literally like playing on a harder mode, especially if you're a stam build. And the perks are all utilitarian. Granted the active abilities are good for pvp in that they have stun/cc effects, but im pretty sure all are interruptable/breakable. But the truth of the matter is that many peopel run undaunted abilities, as well as utilize fire dmg-- both of which are gonna put a vampire out in a short amount of time.

YOu wanna talk about ez-mode, let's take a long hard look at lycanthropy.

The answer to this problem of yours is literally "Double Bloody Mara". Pop a few before fire-intensive dungeons, and enjoy that bonus stamina/magicka recovery everywhere else. The Undeath Passive is also, frankly, godly in its own right.

HP regen is a bad joke unless you are building around it.

There really isn't a downside to running vamp except aesthetics. Play without vampire for a while and realize how much lower your sustain is before you go spouting ***.

Werewolf is literally garbage unless you are playing a very specific monster-centric build. Even then it's not very good in end-game trials, and it's fairly mediocre in PvP since everyone and their grandmother runs poisons and dawnbreaker. I can literally count the number of werewolves that have killed me on one hand, and most of them are from when I was playing with a lowbie friend as a lowbie myself when neither of us had any idea what we were doing.

Let's even just compare the number of vampires who have completed vMA flawless to the number of flawless werewolves! Oh, wait, the entire leaderboard is nearly all vampires while the first recorded werewolf-only flawless clear was less than a month ago.

I cured my last vamp in my magblade this past weekend. Magdk really hurt. But if I took my Stamplar magplar again; there’s not a lot of options.

I have 15 maxed out guys, only one is a vamp and that's just so that I have at least one vamp. Even my dk tank isn't a vamp despite all the "meta". There are appealing things about it, but not enough to sway me into widespread use.

As for making a "good" build, sounds more like people once again asking for benefits without drawbacks - no vampire looks or different penalties, etc. Chances are, if they made a "good alternative" to vampires, you would not get vampire abilities with it, but completely different ones.

Seriously, who is left that isn't a vampire?

is there any chance we can get some inherently non evil variants of this like say acolytes of Stendarr or Arkay or something comparable without having to be a vampire.

    Its out of control.

    Feel free to discuss.

    1. Not all of my raid characters are vamps. Yes, it’s min max/max but most don’t really mom/max.

    2. There isn’t going to be a second line like this if any type. Besides, aren’t required to be evil. Rivenspire’s main story is about a group of vampires that are not evil and work to help the area.

I've already spoken ad nauseum about how Vampires need to be redesigned to be more of a thing you need to accommodate for in your build than just simple no brainer stats that work with literally every build ever.

Make the downsides more extreme, make the upsides more powerful if you build for them. Fill out the active skills. Make it feel like you're playing a vampire when you're playing a vampire.

The problem with vampires is that it gives too many strong passives and abilities. Want to PVP as a Templar? You have no escape or disengage so you need vampire mistform!

Want to have enough sustain as a tank? You need 10% supernatural recovery!

Want to take less damage you need undeath!

It's far too strong. A fair compromise would be just taking 100% flame damage and making it unable to be mitigated. So, you'd basically have to heal through all fire damage you took (if you could).

The benefits outweigh the detriments heavily. That and it's for sale for convenience on the crown store.

You see so many vamps in PvP because of the over abundance of ridiculous roots and snares...like literally every skill has a snare attached to it, and if your a magic build that’s not a Sorc,if you want to be able to move you need Mist Form

That is a huge part of it. Stam can drop snares all day long from two different weapon lines. For mag toons skills that remove harmfull effects such as mutagen or suspend them, like cloak, do nothing for snares. Mist form is almost required kit. Just bad game design on ZOS part. The extra fire damage cost associated with vamp really is a minor thing compared to what all you get. Zos has vassilated occasionally on this but for most of the games history vamp has been well worth it much to the annoyance of players who do not want to look like their rotting. ZOS could make a fortune selling a skin that makes you not look like a vamp when you are one.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Does anyone give out bites or know how I can be turn into a Vamp on Xbox Na server? If so lmk in a message or something and we will figure out how to meet up in game. I'm a new playing running both a sorcerer as well as a DK that are both magic builds so I would just like to experiment with the skill line as I'm learning the rest of the game.
