shadow cloak on a healer

Recently respected my nightblade tank to a healer/magblade. I have a flex spot open on the resto staff bar and I'm wondering how well shadow cloak would work for healing ad an emergency defense button to drop aggro on enemies. My templar healer can always stand in channeled focus and spam heals or biting jabs to stay alive, but the night blade is a bit squished when he pulls aggro. Thinking if I can mix shadow cloak in with healing when that happens it'll keep enemies off of me.

Thoughts? Or would it be better just to slot another buff or something there?

A Nightblade doesn't have less resistances then a Templar, as you get major resistance buffs via passives. I guess better slot something that helps your group or a shield.

it's pretty worthless for a healer IMHO. You'd be better off slotting HEALING WARD or somesuch on that slot and not worrying about the agro, and offering yer team some protection instead.

I don't know about shadow cloak, but are you running refreshing path? That grants the major defensive buffs with the right passive, which should help a bit. What skills are you running? I feel short on slots on my NB healer.

I did a little bit of testing with this on an off-meta nb healer build. I'd heard that all of your HOT's and DOT's will crit while shadowy disguise is active. I combined that with the stygian set for another +20% spell damage while invisible.

I hoped that I would be able to use invisibility to give defence and increase my damage and healing. In practice I found it was really inefficient. Most trash fights don't last long enough to get all dots and hots up, and too many things break cloak.

For getting aggro to drop in emergencies I've found cloak is relatively inconsistent compared to something like Mass Hysteria, which is incidentally terribly fun in duels, and also has the side benefit of inflicting minor maim for team support.

Yeah, healing Ward will do you better than shadow cloak, it will help your survivability and when you aren't in trouble, your team's.

Pve wise, healing ward def over cloak. The absorb shield with how strong nb hots are equals a garunteed 1 button life saver.

Also note that templars are not in anyway inherently more tanky than nbs.
