Should outfit dying cost gold?

While I am happy with the gold sink for outfit styles, I personal find the idea that gold is needed to dye outfits is a bit absurd.
Thoughts?

Regular crafted outfits are still free to dye, yes?
Costumes are free to dye if you have ESO+.

As far as I know, its only the new outfit slot costume(s) that you have to pay to dye and that's been a "feature" of the system since it launched on the PTS.

    Please rephrase your question/answer format.

You ask "Should it cost gold" and possible answers are "Yes it should be free" which is the opposite "yes" answer to the question as stated, and "No I" which isn't even a sentence.

Seems fine. You can still go about it the old way and dye your existing armor for free. And costumes. So you don't HAVE to use the new system, but if you so choose - it makes sense to cost gold.

your question "Should outfit dying cost gold?"

I voted "no", no gold should be required to dye, but you have screwed up answers...
the "yes" option says "Yes, outfit dying should continue to be free" o.O

It costs enough time and effort to earn those dyes and motifs. It shouldn't cost anything. The high cost of using the more rare motifs is literally like a slam to people like me, that have spent many hours pickpocketing, farming, and doing dailies to earn the motifs or earn the money to buy them. What benefit is there to being a crafter if you still have to pay for the outfit?

Dying should be free, but it is not, so whatever.

Changing your Armor should cost gold.

You already have to do work to get the dyes, it's ridiculous you have to pay to use them as well.

    Dyeing should be costfree!

    (PS. Poll is rather unclear)

It's my blood and I'll clean it myself. Do you know what magic users can do with blood? It isn't pretty. I think dying anything should be free since the dyes themselves all cost time or money to acquire. It's like double taxation.

I didn't answer the poll because the answers are both wrong.

Well, we're probably lucky it costs gold instead of crowns.

If the breakdown of the component costs of an outfit weren't shown, you wouldn't be complaining at all. It's only because you're comparing the cost of the dying part of an outfit against the cost of dying a costume. The latter remains free, other the time and effort in earning the dyes, of course.

I don't have a problem with a part of the outfit's gold cost be allotted to dying. You pay a cost for each element, some of which are higher than others because you picked a fancier motif for that piece. Why shouldn't extra fancy - a different colour - be another extra cost?

If they'd made it cost gold to dye a costume, then I'd complain. But including a price as part of the new outfit system is OK. My characters will build an outfit if they're not satisfied with just a costume, and stick with it. It doesn't need re-making because I can use higher-level gear, or because the meta just changed. It's cosmetic-only, so if I like it, I can keep it.

As far as costumes go, if you have eso+ they are free to dye.
