Anti Blob Ball Build

The infamous blob balls in Cyrodil both baffle and infuriate me. Round and round they go waiting for their Ultis ..then bombing a couple of sad sacks that get too close. That is all they accomplish.

I would really like to make an anti blob build with the new no AOE cap going in. What would be a good class/build to accomplish it?

The anti ball group builds are the melee builds which ball groups run on themselves. From range you can use Inevitable Detonation spam + Vicious Death + fire ballista / cold fire ballista.

Don't forget the other morph of soul assault. Essentially the same effect as VD but mag DMG and a 96 cost ultimate.

How? By using the same setups they do to wreck whatever Zerg you’re surfing of course.

    1. Infernal-Leap-Dragonknight: the Inev. Deto, the Fireball of the Inf. Guardian, the Leap, and Draw Essence must fire within 1 second. Equipment: Inf. Guardian, Storm Knight, VD; race Dark Elf

    2. MagSorc: Just Stun - overload gank them (combined with stun and inev. Deto), until you see that they are vulnerable/ trapped by other players, and then negate them, then Inev. Deto on at least 2 of them! Doesn´t work on MagWarden groups, but hey, if they run with MagWardens instead of MagBlades, they are harmless anyway ;)

    3. StamSorc: Dizzy-Swing the one of them left behind, and kill him. Negate- Stun them if they get trapped. Don´t forget dodge roll, quick cloak, Selene, and Bastion of the Heartland!

For all 3: Mist form through them if they get you.
Preferred fighting grounds are small keeps, as you can predict their movements there very well, and as you can also have fun watching the stupid PuGs of your own faction dieing over and over again. It´s really relaxing.

I had a bit of success with a Warden casting Permafrost then spamming Heavy attack into brawler in a tight blob group. I died to them eventually but other people finished them off and I got a 3.4K AP tick in the end so I probably did plenty of damage. I thought what build would be effective and came up with something:

    Class: stamina sorcerer
Gear: 5 Fortified Brass or Strength of the Automaton 3 Agility 2 Slimercraw Master 2H front bar Master 2W back bar (only as buff bar)

    Skills:
Front bar: Reverse Slice | Brawler | Hurricane | Streak | Bound Armaments || Dawnbreaker of Smiting
Back bar: Deadly Cloak | Shuffle | Resolving Vigor | Critical Surge | Bound Armaments || Rend

Consumables: Maximum health+stamina food, restore stamina+weapon critical+immovable potions

Surge, Hurricane, Shuffle and Blade Cload, pop potions, streak into the group to stun and spam heavy attack into brawler, then follow up with reverse slice on those who get low. Would work well in tandem with a magicka Sorcerer tank that spams restraining prison and throws a negate on them.

1): The group you fought was a bad ball group: good ball groups can´t be rooted with Restraining Prison for more than one second.
    2) Against better groups you might need Bastion of the Heartland
3): I like the "Brawler". If you use it, use the fitting monster set, which is not Slimecraw, but Infernal Guardian. The Infernal Guardian will hit them, and hit them REALLY HARD.
    4) If you don´t use Brawler, but Dizzying Swing, Selene or Stormfist are better than Infernal Guardian.

    As a general note:
I always test such builds in public dungeons. If a humanoid mob group dies within 3-4 seconds, it COULD work, if not, it´s trash. The more fire damage and the greater the defense against enemy AoE, the better.

I have had moderate success with the Unrelenting Troll build. DK chains to pull people out of the ball to places where they can't get rezzed by their mates on the pass back. Doesn't work against good groups though.

    There isn't one.

If you try to bomb, they usually run with 30k health and a ton of healing.. Sou you'd need to be able to do a 30k aoe burst. Not possible.

If you try to do it over time, you need to be able to both out heal their damage and out-damage their heals.. Again not possible.

Only way is with your own coordinated group delivering your own coordinated burst.. Which kind of means becoming the thing you hate....

You can't really do anything but fight fire with fire (ball group).

I'd say just ignore these groups. They're usually people who do nothing but play eso PVP every day so I just ignore them and don't give them the AP. When you see a group of people all with stars just assume it's pointless. Besides, they're usually just camping resources or the likes.

There was a time when blazing shields could stand in the middle of a group like that. But like everything, NERFFFFFFF!

Honestly, the worst you can do to a blob as a solo player is individually pulling the blob members off a keep wall (jump off a wall, cast pull while in air) so they cannot easily get back to the safety of their blob.

It takes a bit of luck to fish out one that isn't CC immune at the moment when the pull hits him, but other than that, there's little they can do to prevent it, and i've forced wall-circling enemy blobs out of friendly keeps this way before.

I'm not sure about the "impossible" part. An Infernal-Guardian-Dk reaches around 16-20k noncrit even in tank armor. (Leap 10k, deto 4k, Inf Guardian 3k, Vulcanic Rune 2-3k, Inhale 1 -2 k).

With a higher magic damage/ light armor, or one nasty proc set, it might not been impossible, as long as they are Vamps.
