Shrike's Nocturnal COST

I'm honestly shocked at the price of this Costume... 2000 Crowns!?! That is obscene!!!
I've used this picture in another post before but In WHAT WORLD is this the same price as THIS!?!
I bought this costume from the Crown store for 2000 Crowns during one of these limited time sales and I would GLADLY do it again because it is basically 2 costumes in one so it is well WORTH the price and I get plenty of use out of it... Don't even try to tell me they are worth the same amount. I am beside myself in disbelief at how increasingly evident the Price Gouges are becoming...
Please, Someone, Anyone attempt to justify this for me...

It's that chest window. That right there is worth an additional 1000 Crowns. I am not sure where the other 500 Crowns they added to the price comes from.

If I may enlighten you, it's the gold trim. That's why you can't dye it, too valuable. :p

That or it's the additional long leg window at 250 a pop each side.

It certainly is shiny though! I have to preview it later.

I had every intention of buying Nocturnal Frock until I saw the pricing. I have the crowns, I just can not do it ON PRINCIPLE.

HOW CAN THIS COST AS MUCH AS A 2-in-1 Hero Costume!?!

    I do not understand.

Clearly you've never bought women's clothing before. Less fabric = higher cost is pretty standard, even if it doesn't make it revealing.

But I agree that 2,000 crowns is expensive for this costume. The texture on the fabric is nice and from what I've seen it dyes nicely except for the gold trim, but it's pretty niche and I don't think it's worth that price.

Although personally I don't think the Elven Hero costume is worth that much either. It's nicer than the Nocturnal one, but I don't think the absence of a boob window on the male version makes it into two different costumes, they're still identical other than that one thing and IMO too similar to armour and several other costumes to justify the high price.

I wear women's clothing... And the only time Less Fabric costs more IRL, is when you're buying Silk Lingerie or anything with a Better Quality Fabric... All Pixels cost the same.

I can understand 2000 crowns for a mount, a skin, or a polymorph. But 2000 crowns for a costume is just crazy. Especially one that has so many issues with dyeing and holes and whatever else people find.

I think it is 2000 because ZoS is well aware of how many people wanted this and priced it as high as they thought to get away with. But me personally think 2k, the same price as a whole dlc worth of content for a single female only costume is way out of the ballpark. I am afraid they might do the same with other known wanted items (like a crow pet I fear) if they ever turn up, pure due to knowing (some) people have been waiting for it for a long time. For me personally I would be bummed not getting it, but I would feel worse paying an in my opinion way overpriced price too.

Sales tactics. Works on us weak-minded :p . We know it's a) limited-time so it'll be gone for a long time and return for 100 gems in a crown crate, and b) it'll be fairly unique-ish because not many are unwise enough to part with 2000 crowns. Thankfully, mine were sales crowns so basically half price.

That's all part of the illusion!!! They put the crowns on sale, then deflate the value of Crowns by increasing the Price of Crown Store Items...

No, the world isn't real *insert roll eyes*. It could be argued the crowns are devalued, but it is true that the prices themselves are hugely inflated. The recent Argonian costumes were decently priced, this one however, is priced as such because of it being time-limited, and ZoS knowing how desireable it was.

You're throwing fire at the players but this is all the intention of the Devs. They know, EVERYONE knows, Sex sells. The desire for skin is what drives the price. That may not apply to you, but it does to a whole lot of other people that enjoy a good show while playing the game.

Judge the people buying this costume all you want, but in the end it's all because ZOS knows this'll make them some cash.

Its expensive but for me the customes are the only thing worth buying in crown store but this simply looks horrible.
It just is very badly designed IMO. I dont know how its possible to make so many mistakes with one item.

It’s too shiny and it is weirdly shaped. I need to stop impulse buying these customes.
I hope the designers check their display settings before they create next one.

I previewed it on my male Khajiit (just happened to be the character I was on - I don't get the fascination otherwise and I didn't wear my sibling's clothes growing up...) and it just didn't look good.

I think it's one of those that will require the proportions of your character to be just so or it won't look right.

Ach that is silly. No one here in this thread said anything to try and actually validate the price. We're making fun of it and thus supporting your argument. There is a term for it but for the life of myself I can't think of it.

I could accept the cost, however it's the fact that the product has clipping issues and holes that bothers me. Additionally it doesn't dye properly.

This happened recently with the Telvanni Magister's Outfit too. I'm hoping they go back and fix these outfits, because it's making me nervous to want to buy any in the future, since I may wind up with another item that looks good when my character is standing still in the shop, but falls apart as soon as I move or try to dye it.

The fact that alot of these store-bought costumes have these issues is disconcerting, to say the least.

Same here. I would have bought it for half that price, but that price is disgusting. The only reason it's that expensive is that when it was datamined, a bunch of people were praising it and saying they wanted it. ZOS saw that and raised the price.
It's sad we can't even be honest any more about what we like and don't like, because they'll just raise the prices on anything we say we like. On another thread, I expressed that I liked one of the upcoming mounts, and I'm already sorry I did.

I think it's one of those that will require the proportions of your character to be just so or it won't look right.

It also helps if your character is in a neutral posture, and not moving. That eliminates the underarm growth and the fact that the lower portion of the skirt is glued to the legs. The latter is unavoidable and might be fixed in the next game ZOS writes, but the former is just wrong, even in this game.

There might be something to this, as they do set prices at the last minute. However, trying to get everyone to not fawn over stuff and throw "take my money now" pictures out, is impossible.

It's honestly hard for me to stomach that continual limited time only "deals" keep coming out, and they each have issues.

The argonian costume: another limited time, broken costume that, as far as I'm aware, is still not fixed. Why would I want to throw my money at ZOS if the previous costume is still broken hoping they're fixed in the future? How often has that been the case? A lot of this stuff doesn't show up on PTS anymore so it's a done deal when people buy it (many issues only being discovered after the fact).

How many people actually go through the trouble of trying to get a refund, especially given the poor, automated customer service responses that usually give you the run around for at least a couple days before you get a real person, leaving the burden on the customer to push through, rather than on the developer for the bad product. I swear, I do more research into some of these crown items before buying than I do when purchasing real world goods like televisions and cars.

Lol. This post is so ridiculous.

Pixels are, well, pixels. It makes no difference whether you’re covered head to toe in plate armor or just wearing a g-banger. A costume is a costume and it costs whatever TF zos wants it to cost - obviously based on saleability.

The textures when compared with the elven hero costume are far superior, imo, and I would say it should be worth more.
