Shor NA - Is anybody out there?

I have to wonder if the PVP system is broken when I see this map night after night?

f1ilbo.png

I am a relative newbie to PVP and I decided to make an AD toon. The trolls are most likely going to say 'big mistake' and run their mouths with unhelpful remarks but it seems to me that it is a problem. Every night I come to Cyrodill in the hope of completing a few more of the achievements and knocking over a delve or skyshard but with the lack of players on the AD side it makes life a bit rough to say the least. It would be great if the PVP was a bit more balanced.

Any realistic suggestions from anyone that isn't a troll on what can be done to fix the problem or should I just make an EP toon and join the horde as it seems as though this is what everyone else is doing?

There’s an entire thread in Shor that will give you a lot of insight on the coming and going on.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/378190/shor-pc-na-official-discussion#latest

But the problem there is; while the smaller pop allows for some less Zerg gameplay at times; it’s ripe for the picking for any ball group or greater numbers to run over the entire campaign and on weekends; that’s going to happen with overflow from vivec. Particularly with EP which has population advantages in general.

I’d favor dynamic pop lock to where you could not load in more than a certain percentage more than the lowest campaign. Then sell faction change tokens limited to once a month. Then lock players to only one faction per campaign again. Encourage us to self balance or not get in.

The only advice I could give. Big mistake if you did this, with campaign locks; long ago. I've learned the hard way, but I did my best to try to unite everyone to there respective factions. To help balance the game. I know old news is old, but the past still repeats itself. I can see it in you pic. When 1St Scourge ended (DC) when 2 ND Scourge reborn, I to thought I would enjoy being with EP (due to talking with EP EMP) and have everything. But having everything was not meant for me. Thus I left EP, I went to AD.

Thus many moons and suns come and gone, many times I went back AD/EP. But you know something, because I cared what other people think about me. It's why I not stayed AD. But this time, I will stop caring what other people think of me. I'll do what I want to do. But enough of me, that was the only advice I can give. As you could see what I mean about, bad idea when we had campaign locks long ago. But for you right now, what does your heart say? What does your inner voice tells you within? What do you feel comfortable with? In honestly just be you. If you want to help hurting alliance(s), like I did for 2+ in both 1St and 2ND Scourge PS4 EU.

Then by all means go do it, make your alliance strong. Just remember you can't please everyone. Until recently I've learned that the hard way. Don't let it and everyone emotions eat you up inside. Have fun with Game. If you want to play all 3 sides, go ahead. Many won't like it. But all it matters is you and you alone.

That's right, no one else, so have fun and do what feels best for you. Hopefully your campaign will be better, I know Monster Hunter recently came out and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, will be released in February 2018. (I been testing it since summer of last year) I'll be getting the Kingdom Come: Deliverance, I pre-order it. So many other PvPers might to. But with new dlc expansion for eso coming here soon. Maps would be full or not to. Just depends, but please be you and do what you want. Please don't repeat my past mistake. Especially wanting to please everyone.

That map looks right to me! Blood for the Pact!

But, seriously, that usually changes later in the day as AD starts coming out and taking some of the keeps back. Maybe you just play at the wrong time.

I am gonna guess that based upon some names in the Shor thread the majority of AD has come to Sotha Sil to find " Good Fights" with the other 70 "Small Mans" that just happen to be travelling in the same direction most of the time.

Probably to raise the emp again.

Shor is fairly balanced during NA prime time, but EP dominates it off hours.

This is slightly different than Sotha where at different times of the day different factions tend to be strongest. Sometimes DC misses their turn though.

Come to Vivec! We have a pretty balanced population and semi-organized PVP going on most hours of the day...until you hit primetime and we get long queues and lots of lag. But I love it and wouldn't have it any other way (unless ZOS fixed the lag and then it'd be perfect).

My EP guild no longer plays on Shor because we'd dominate the map without organized opposition and that's no fun for anyone.

I really do not want to jump on the purple army bandwagon but a friend suggested to me that there are a lot of players that have both EP and DC toons and they swap between said toons when no more keeps are available for the taking. Thus when the map is completely red they jump on blue toons and capture keeps back from EP. Why? Transmute Crystals!

I know they are fixing the drops on the Transmute Crystals in the next update which I will miss as well but hopefully it will take away the blatant farming and encourage players to stick to one faction. I honestly do not think having Transmute Crystals as a reward in Cyrodill is a good idea at all. If anything they need to up the rewards in the dungeons and other areas. I could talk about the Transmute Crystal RNG but I will leave that for another discussion.

In the meantime I will continue to play as an AD but I do hope that the balancing issues are addressed.

Shor just has the problems of a low pop campaign.

Not enough guilds stick around the clock. A proper raid can come in and flip the map, then leaves because it's bored and there are no fights. Even when it is poplocked, strangely. The emp farming guilds know they just have to wait a couple hours for the Vivec queue to be more tolerable and for the Vivec-designed raids to leave and flip the map again. EP just happens to have the most people completely unashamed to PvDoor the map at the moment. I've seen them attack all the back keeps unopposed just to get AP so their favorite can get #1, and then come to the emp ring.

Doesn't help that half the time I'm about to leave a keep there's about 5-6 DC dueling another 5-6 ADs/EPs and not caring about the objectives, or buying siege.

Don’t beleive it. Every faction has its team mashup theories. Yes people do faction swap but most don’t just to flip keeps. There might just be a handful of bad players/groups who do this in a Shor at least. Or possibly a bigger zerg guild. But generally no. And actually the map is either yellow or red off hours and very rarely blue. So if any factions are swapping to face roll the map when it’s empty it’s AD/EP.
