Bound aegis buff after login missing - Will be applied as I open inventory/character screen

Hi there,
not sure if this is a known issue or a feature, or maybe it's not possible inother ways:
If I activate my bound aegis armor on the sorc, logout, login again sometime:
The bound aegis is activated but the buff is missing on my char.
No glowing around the hands etc.
No buff on my char (checked via addons as the buff will be applied if I open the character screen).
It will be applied as I open the inventory or the character screen, but not before.
Is this intended to happen this way?
