Is there something wrong with eclipse

I feel like it next to worthless pvp and I'm pve, I don't know why maybe the damage it does or its cost?

I love this skill in PvE. Set it on a Mob or two and they just kill themselves, or almost kill themselves. But it does not reflect all attacks so there is that.

I am not sure about PvP, not being one, but I would think players would choose attacks that are not reflected, like Melee I imagine.

It’s ok in PvP but I stopped using it because it’s just ok lol. And it seemingly doesn’t work on people with immovablilty, even though it’s not really a cc, or it just bugs out sometimes.

The best use I've seen is when I used Soul Assault and they eclipsed me.

When I was looking dueling tournaments on ESO Blob's channel, i've seen some plars using eclipse against mDK. Worked pretty well.

I guess they eclipsed you first and then you SA'ed, coz vice versa is kinda impossible due to CC immunity during SA

When I was looking dueling tournaments on ESO Blob's channel, i've seen some plars using eclipse against mDK. Worked pretty well.

Not very well though. Instant break free makes skill useless. Only real power is against newbs, who are killing themselves. Also usefull to predict burst and cast eclipse to spoil it, but this is not a reliable counter to any burst, it requires some luck.

Depends on what you are doing.

Eclipse is the ultimate Noob-killer, but utterly worthless against anyone who knows what it does. If you use this skill on a good player, you are just giving them free CC immunity, without actually getting a stun on that person.

But open world, beating on potatatoes? Most awesome skill ever. It is so fun casting this on the NB that just ambushed in on you, and just watch him kill himself, and then hatewhisper you afterwards, saying you are a cheater.

It’s a real pain in the ass to break free from in PvP.

While a normal CC forces an opponent to waste one global cool down to break free, eclipse usually forces them to waste two because of how long the damn animation takes to show up and the fact that it does t interior what the receiver is doing so they have to finish that and then afterwards break free.In theory it sounds useless but in reality the thing is just hard to shake off.

For example if you’re half way done with a channeled attack like flurry or dizzy and you get CCs with a regular stun you’ll immediately break free and use the GCD on break free instead of the channel. If you were doing the same thing and an eclipse gets put on you, you have to either wait until after the skill finishes or block cancel it... either way you can’t break free until the NEXT global cool down because your channel was interrupted by you, not your opponent.

What? Soul Assault is a DoT and should not be affected by Eclipse? Are you sure that this is what happened? Also, as someone else pointed out, Eclipse would have needed to be cast before you activated SA, since you have immunity.

I understand what you're saying but I never had a problem with instant reaction to remove Eclipse. But laggy-laggy CC break indeed makes Eclipse more dangerous. Anyway damage proc isn't too high, you can receive 1-2 ticks and feel good.
