Combat: Will you use any synergy sets next patch?

    Didn’t use them before outside of Trial runs every couple of weeks. Nothing will be missed.

    Maybe this is more enticing?

    who ever use bone shield wtf? on any of dps its skill slot waste, healer wont use it either, only chance for 2nd tank if you have but also it isnt using to often if this 1st tank would want to use more synergies

    I use it on my healer. Its now 100% ally health damage shield. That's 30k+/- thereabouts on a tank. Why won't I use it if its easier to pop the synergy now? That effectively negates a lot of bosses one shots or extreme aoe conditions. Even on a dps its about 17-18k damage shield. For a healer, it gives you more options aside from the stamina pool aside from dodge block or roll.

    Indeed bone shield will be perfect on healers.

    I just hope this means werewolf feeding will be easier, I wish I could test it myself but no way can I afford 70+ gigs 2X
    Hoping for more playable races.

    I just want werewolf to be viable in endgame PvE T.T (which not allowed according to PTS update 50)

    I am sure I will get suckered into trying 5-piece moondancer again. Unless it is radically improved on live, it wont last. Alkosh will likely see a small increase in use, but most good groups run it already. I see no good benefit to the tank/healer sets, as there are better sets for your group, irregardless of how well synergies function.

    With some of these changes and the direction it seems they're pushing, I'm curious if they're trying to eliminate a DPS spot and force in a Buffer/Synergist spot? If the off balance changes are what they are maybe one player to keep as many buffs up as possible will be of use?

    In pvp, probably not.

    In PvE - probably not for the most part.

    I'm a tank, so mostly I'll say no, but-
    I'll still keep Alkosh and a couple sets like that in the bank (I think I still have Lunar Bastion) for when needed. But to be honest, Alkosh uptime isn't what players think it is, even with good synergies and the set offers nothing for tanks in the way of the 2, 3, and 4 piece bonuses. DPS have plenty of options and CP for pen now and shouldn't be putting this additional stress of running a crap tanking set on the tank with all the nerfs to tanking over the last five patches. Torug's is a much better option, actually is ok in what it gives the tank and gives you great uptime on a stronger crusher. That, combined with their own pen sets and cp should be plenty. Though I still think for certain runs Alkosh could be nice to have in storage for burns.

    But with the longer cooldown to synergies all the changes to synergies actually feels like a nerf to me as a tank. I say this because the tank is usually a little separated from the group and it's always been a little easier to pick them up than when you throw a shard in the middle a ten dps trying to get it and there are also usually additional synergies like conduit and the like dropping right on you (well on the boss, but you are usually there).

    Mostly I feel like the synergy change will be helpful when I'm on dps and especially on a dps using moondancer or something.

    Nope, I'll keep using my viper/briarheart/stormfist for dungeons and toothrow/twice-fanged/selene's for trials.

    Twice-fanged in a trial but not a dungeon? I think your set choice aren't optimal there.

    Generally its VO or Hundings + TFS in a dungeon. VO + NMG/Morag Tong/Sunderflame in a trial.

    Uncertain if I like increased lockout on the use of a particular synergy, especially since there was some homoginzation that reduced the total number of synergies last year.

    However, I use them now so I would obviously still use them. That should be obvious for everyone that uses them now.
