First off
1. Open world PvP in PvE zones is not going to happen. They tried it. There were severe balance issues. We are not discussing that.
2. I know there are people who would not want PvE interfering with their PvP. So this would be a PvE zone.
3. Just because I am proposing a PvE idea does not mean we should abandon PvP, nor does it take anything away from it. Of course ZOS should work on it. Enough of this PvE vs PvP mentality.

PvP and PvE are completely different experiences as people here have noted. There will always be an appeal for PvP content.
So no, a PvE Cyrodil will not kill PvP, that is an exaggeration, pure and simple.
The PvE Cyrodil would have completely different rewards. It is not a system to get the benefits of PvP without doing PvP.
If people so desire, we could have two instances.
One that is purely PvE.
One that is PvP with ALOT of PvE coming in. (like Imperial City)

Because they noticed that the mere mention of PvE & Cyrodil has detracted the conversation into what problems face PvP and PvP not getting enough attention. As you have demonstrated.Cyrodiil and PvP don't come into it. So no PvPers can get upset.

Again, your point is almost entirely about problems that face PvP.
1. the Grind
2. PvP not receiving content updates
3. Player complaints about PvP performnace
That is not what this thread is about, nor does anything my idea do affect PvP or those aspects that you listed.
Especially when I specifically noted that my idea will NOT have the same rewards as PvP. That you cannot get the benefits of PvP, without doing PvP.
By your logic; you could make the argument that any new PvE content takes away from the PvP aspect of the game.
My Idea is End-Game PvE. It is massive free-form PvE. More intense and more freedom than trials. And what it brings to the table is entirely different than what PvP brings. It is a challenge for End-game PvE builds.
It won't take anything away from PvP because what it offers (both gameplay and rewards) are different than PvP.
Now you may not have to have Top of the line gear and/or rotations in PvP. BUT you certainly have to have a PvP build.
There are those who have PvE centered characters who would like more intense battles and war-type combat for PvE. We want to see the massive Daedric conflict that we saw in the trailers.
I don't want PvE content due to some form of dislike for PvP. I enjoy PvP.
What I want is to fight actual hordes of Daedra and their Titans attacking the keeps. Because facing down a Daedric Titan that has launched an attack on the fort sounds awesome.
EDIT: I was not accusing PvP players of acting like "children", "silly", or 'having temper tantrums".
I pointed out that @I_killed_Vivec argument was that while the idea was good it should not be in Cyrodil as that would upset PvP players.Because they noticed that the mere mention of PvE & Cyrodil has detracted the conversation into what problems face PvP and PvP not getting enough attention. As you have demonstrated.Cyrodiil and PvP don't come into it. So no PvPers can get upset.
This would be fine reasoning if there were separate PvP DLCs. But all PvP updates have been glued to PvE updates, so PvE players actually pay PvP too. I am fine with this to certain extent. But when saying "hands off from PvP", be prepared to pay for it then....snip...
Let's consider the fact that taking assets from PvP (Cyrodiil, IC), kinda looks like cannibalizing PvP for the sake of PvE, which doesn't look good, considering PvP doesn't receive regular updates or new content...
It may not be my argument, but I can see how that would upset players that still enjoy the content, and would like to see it flourish.
Just saying.
Have a nice day.

Cyrodiil would be a good platform for anything requiring unlimited land like in-world farmsteads. Starting from there and extending some economic structures to towns, farms/mines/mills and keeps and with daedic waves would be really interesting PvE expansion. Upgrading Cyrodiil for PvP and finally separating IC PvE/PvP at the same time would be ok and i am ready to pay for it.
Can't help if thinking is too difficult. Are you ready to pay everything PvP. Be careful what you wish for. This would be fine reasoning if there were separate PvP DLCs. I have no idea what you just said, nor I understand why you quoted me, and in what context, but if you're ready to pay for it, I guess that trumps every other argument.
Good talk.

This is exactly why Cyrodiil is not getting updates. Nobody pays for PvP. And this is why i think OP has a good idea.VaranisArano wrote: »Can't help if thinking is too difficult. I'd pay for working servers and less lag. That's about it.

It will be for people who love to always win and cant stand being killed by a real player.
NOTE:
1. This is not an option to get the benefits of PvP without doing PvP, so No AP
2. This is not an idea to Replace PvP and has Nothing to do with PvP

The idea is simple.
Everyone is on the same side, fighting massive battles against the Daedric invasion.
Imagine you hold a keep. In comes a daedric army to take your keep.
The Daedric forces would offer different tactics compared to the PvP players. While they do use many of the same weapons and items also available to PvP like siege weapons and repair.
But also some new stuff. For one they can launch scamps at you.
Like we saw here in this trailer.
Secondly, the Daedra also have other assets they can use. Not just humanoid enemies but also creatures such as Banekin, Clannfear, Harvester, Spider Daedra, Winged Twilight, Daedroth, Atronachs (think of the large Flesh Atronachs) and Daedric Titans.
For those who played Skyrim, remember Dragon attacks? Now Forts/Towns/Strongholds can be attacked by a Titans that was flying by. Large shadows will make you look up. A Daedric Titan attack may be a pre-cursor to an invading army.
Overall make the Daedric Invasion something Armies of players can participate in together. The overall idea is Craglorn but more engaging, where player WANT to get together to fight. How Imperial City is handled is a matter of debate.
Imagine these guys showing up on your doorstep with an army OR imagine them simply roaming Cyrodil. Like the bosses in Imperial City, they could wonder the vast territories. Have 1-2 located in each Alliance territory. Imagine Shadow of the Colossus type bosses wandering Cyrodil
Would love to hear what you guys think could be added to this and just on the topic in general

It's not an exaggeration, it's a predictive model based on current data, collected by players like myself over the years.
Players interested specifically in PvP don't play ESO for some very simple reasons:
1) The game is grindy, so you can't make a toon and jump in.
2) The game is not optimized, and PvP is not receiving regular updates, nor new content.
3) The forums are filled of threads lamenting bad performances, lag and loading screens, which will immediately turn a potential PvP player away.
Among the current player base there's a fair number of people convinced that PvP requires complicated rotations and top-of-the-line gear, so they convinced themselves it's not for them, based on that misconception. I personally introduced a lot of them to Cyrodiil, and they are now regularly playing it, along with their weekly trials and dungeon runs.
There are a lot of new players entering the fray just because they want to collect the skyshards and do the delves, but then stay for hours after doing so, and keep returning.
Despite that, we're losing servers. PC-EU is down to two 30-days campaigns (1 CP and 1 noCP), 1 7-days that is constantly the same color, and an under lvl50 primarily used by high levels to farm emp.
PvP is not receiving new content, it's not receiving regular updates, and it's up to a few players to go out of their way to recruit the people and get them in.
Needless to say, forum doomsayers lamenting "toxic PvP players", "endless griefing" and "getting insta-gibbed the moment you step foot in Cyrodiil" doesn't help one bit, nor getting strawmanned, or called "silly", or accused of having a "temper tantrum" when a counter-argument is presented.

I'm still up for something like this as an option.
Imagine a Cyrodil that is like a massive Dungeon or Trial Map.
