I would love to test stuff out but Im not going to spend days leveling a character or farming gear. So where is the instruction manual on the PTS ? If there is a link some where that would be sufficient explanation.

✭✭✭✭✭It’s easy. You install PTS, select it in the launcher, and login. Without character copies you can choose templates in the character creation screen that already have all skill lines maxed out and get most sets and all the crafting stuff. So you can test things out rather easily, although some crucial sets are missing.
2 weeks into the PTS characters are copied from live, with NA getting the first copies usually. You then can choose between your live characters or you can create a template as stated above. feyii✭✭✭✭It's mainly straight forward, but the box to make a new character a template is easily overlooked. So when you want to create a template character, check the top left corner in the character creation window. There is a dropdown, which is initially set to default. Default means you create a character just as on live, starting at level 1. But for each PTS cycle you will also have one or more (depending on what needs to be tested) templates to choose from. Select one before modifying anything else on your test character.1
