Sunderflame neck

Is there some specific version of CoA or boss this drops from?

I've been farming it for weeks and haven't seen one. Tried chest farming - none yet. Tried asking group i was with for vet coa1/2 - none yet.

Can anyone confirm where they've seen it drop?

Yes they drop - got way more of this than BSW neck.

No unique version of it drops so it's chest farming or from the last boss.

And they drop from both CoA 1 and 2 - best to run part 1.

Btw. do you farm chests with the cp passive?

If you don't get PTSD at the mention of CoA, you're doing it wrong.

I can confirm it exists, and you can keep farming CoA I, drops from there as well.

If I can offer a piece of advice, make sure you have the treasure hunter passive (75 points in the tree) and farm chests, they can drop jewelry and it can be faster than actually doing the bosses.

haha and no i don't have ptsd from mentioning coa. I actually don't mind doing it. I had no issues getting my bsw gear but for some reason this sunderflame neck won't pop up

It always does.... but this isn't my first terrible RNG rodeo
I will persevere!

Go farm for embershield and embershield only, that way the game will give you everything but embershield I am a firm believer the game knows what you are farming and makes it tough to get those items. When i farmed BSW a long time ago i probably accumulated enough sunderflame to outfit a 12 man raid and hardly received the BSW items i needed LOL

But to answer your question the only place i have seen the necklace drop has been the final boss (even though i know it can come from chest), but it is extremely rare.

We've been farming for a sunderflame neck as well. CoA jewelry seems especially brutal. Took me 21 runs for a BSW neck. I'm expecting the same for the Sunderflame.

This is true but I think the game knows when you try to trick it - you actually have to give it up for real..... that is when it drops every time

Didn't realize Apos still played. Last I talked to him he went all "wannabe elitist" on me. I don't really tolerate elitists too well, especially when they are bad at games in general lol.

Feeling the same with this bone-pirate necklace I'm looking for. It's amazing how skewed the RNG is in this game. About 20% of my drops from the last boss are Bone-pirate resto staves. This isn't real RNG at all. It's weighted and it sucks.

Don't fret, it'll drop. I've gotten 3 in the grind I did a few weeks ago.

I can do that. I've actually been back since last May. Took a small Destiny 2 break, but that didn't last long. Man that game is baaaaaaaaaaaad.

No unique Sunder neck, so only chests and final boss. Hopefully it will follow the gold sunder rings that were in the vendor a few weeks ago.

Got mine from my tank in Vet CoA 1 or 2 last boss. Seems to me that tanks and healers get DPS gear and DPS get tank/healer gear far more often than DPS get DPS gear and tan/healer get their sets.

One other question about this... related to chest farming.

Did something change in there? i've only been finding 1 or MAYBE 2 chests now. Should there be more? am i just missing a bunch?

This is normal.

Use this thread to help you with chest locations and strats to get to them. It's how I farmed all of my BSW gear last year.

Farm those heavy sacks and loot the urns! The urns will drop furnishing and heavy sacks is just $$$$.

This is normal.

Farm those heavy sacks and loot the urns! The urns will drop furnishing and heavy sacks is just $$$$.

ahh ok.. i think that's the same map i was using. I just didn't know if only seeing 1 or 2 chests was the usual now.

Nope, it's normal. To give you some perspective; When I farmed for Bone Pirate and Lich. It was normal to get 1 chest, sometimes 2 before the second boss.

I spent weeks farming for it. Hundreds of chest farm runs. Had something like 11 BSW necks and 9 whatever that other useless set is called necks drop, never had a Sunderflame neck drop. Finally got someone to chest farm with me and got the neck in about 30 minutes.

But I managed to get an Infused dagger and an axe I could transmute in like 6 runs.

Jewelry (non-unique) is chests or final boss only. Just do the chest farm.

Yup, when I was farming BSW I got mostly Sunderflame and Embershield. I got rid of the Sunderflame stuff, which was stupid of me, since a few months later I made a StamDK. Now I get mostly BSW and Embershield.

the cp passive does only improve quality not drop rate no? and drops in normal dungeons are always blue no?

i have sf amulet - but it does seem to me - might be really subjective - that amulets and shields have very low drop rates... i don't know if jewlery is their own table or shields are lumped in with the other aparel etc...

LOL same, I was having problems getting bone pirate necklace. I did so many runs on normal around 40 and i said **** this and went chest farming solo in vet mode. I ultimately got the necklace on my 12th run or so and on purple. My advice is just hunt for chests. **** normal and the bosses when it comes to farming bone pirate jewelry. I Also got three purple rings during the chest farm which they rarely even dropped when i was farming the bosses on normal. Just go vet and farm chests, if you are a nightblade the better and cloak trough everything.
