Razor-Edged Mandible

So, working towards the Chitin Accumulator achievement and for my next trohpy i need to find a Razor-Edged Mandible and as far as i'm aware i can get these from Shalks in Stonefalls, which is where ive been farming them for the last 4 ******* hours. Ive already got about half the achievements related to collecting trophies so i know how horrible they are to grind but even compared to other mobs this seems insanely rare and im honestly beginning to doubt that i am farming the right creatures. If anyone else has got this achievement or even just this specific trophy then could they tell me where they got it from and how long it took cause at this point i have earned an extra 500 beetle scuttle to 0 Razor-Edged Mandible, would really appreciate an answer on this please.

I've gotten at least half a dozen of those just from just playing normally but when I'm farming for certain trophies I never get what I am looking for. Do you have Morrowind? There are some places there to farm shalk beetles. I got three drops from just questing in the area.

I gave up in farming the monster trophies a long time ago. Way too much time invested and never getting the trophy I am looking for. I'm sure I will complete them in 10 years by just playing the game. Lol.

Not just shalks.. I get em quite regularly when farming beetle scuttle in Alik'r desert, loads of Assasin Beetles that literally respawn within a minute after killing them, very close to Morwhas (think thats how you spell it) Bounty wayshrine in the south west of the zone..

I decided to farm where you said and it still took another 2.5 hours of farming the bloody things but ive just got it so big thanks for that. Managed to get 712 Beetle Scuttle in the time in took to get one Razor-Edged Mandible and got it at the Rain Catcher Fields in south west Aliki'r from an Assassin Beetle. Hopefully that information is helpful to someone else, thanks guys.

4 hours? I've spent almost a week farming ghosts for the residue on one of my characters. I think at one time I stopped selling the Ectoplasm and managed to accumulate like 600 of them.

Yes. I must be crazy. I'm doing these achievements on all of my characters.

Still at the ghosts on my main... so far, no luck, despite several multi-hour farming expeditions.

I truly wish they would add something to the game you could use to raise your trophy drop chances for hunting trips... 's why I suggested a guild around that once: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/387560/additional-guild-ideas-mk-ii
...but some item that raises your trophy drop chances to, say, 5% or 10% for an hour... something that takes some other rare stuff to craft (much like psijic ambriosia), but would be worth it for those missing that one last pit for their collections, but are constantly denied by the gods of the die roll...

Those achieves are a pain. There'll be one that I'll get over and over again on an alt but have never gotten on my main even once, despite having far more hours playing her. RNG is a curse.

Ha, i'm farming Buzzing Spine right now. I've got two achievements left to finish now and getting some of these items has been much easier then others. As long as this took i got a Magnificent Bat Pelt on the very first group of bats i killed, took about 5 seconds in total whereas ive been farming for Buzzing Spine for about the last two and a half hours, go figure.

Spent days trying for a Wraith Shackle on my tank; it dropped again a couple of days later on a daily delve.

Spent days trying for the Scaly Durzog Hide on my main, was on the verge of giving up when it dropped while doing a random normal (Fungal 1).

Also, there are some places where these things seemingly have a higher chance at a drop. Seldom have I been through vDSA without a Multifaceted Eye in my pocket. Last time it even came with an extra Malformed Kagouti Tusk completely for free.

And when a vMA chest drops a Crackling Lodestone when there are no Storm Atronachs at all in there? Puzzling that.
