VMA RNG FIX

92td1
92td1
I haven't ran it a whole lot I pretty much got the weapon I wanted from it without to many runs. The reason for this thread and forgive me if its been discussed before(I did a quick search first) but I have some others in my guild that have LITERALLY ran vma over 100 times and still don't have the weapon they are trying to get. The RNG in that place is horrible for some people. The proposed fix was 1 of two things. Either limit what reward you get based on class entry (no S&B if your running it on a mage class), OR within the VMA area before you enter the arena to allow you to trade in the reward you don't want for a vouchers/stones/ tokens to the merchant (make it take 20-30 runs/tokens or something) or whatever to then allow you to BUY the piece you do want with the correct trait. There are a lot of people of people that simply don't want to run VMA any more because they never get what they want out of it.

Yes, we are. I'm simply talking weapon family changes. Some guild mates keep getting S&B or 2h when they want a staff. Am i correct that you can't transmog into a different weapon family?

The second one would be a good idea, the first.... no, that would ruin build diversity.

I never fell for "oh sorc is a mage class, templar is a warrior class yada yada yada" ALL the classes are mage classes, just whether you want to be a battlemage, a mage mage, a ranger mage or a assassin mage or so on and so on.

Stamina builds are a different story of course but even those don't fall in the shoehorning.

Exactly. Transmute it. It can be done either in Clockwork City or at a station in someone's house. Fix the bad trait and be done with it. :)

You're telling me they've run "LITERALLY ran vma over 100 times" and still no staff of the appropriate element has dropped? If so, then I'm really sorry for them -- that's awful luck.

I have a friend i run with all the time. He's run it 50-100 times - zero lightning staves.
It took me 100+ to get a sharpened inferno (back when you couldn't just trait change) 60+ just to get ANY lightning staff.

RNG is still crap in there even just to obtain the correct TYPE of item.

This is what I'm talking about. Like I said I was fairy lucky. I got a sharp inferno my third run. Others, not so lucky, I feel for them lol.

Took me a little less than a year to get a lightning staff in any trait.

I bought Orsinium during the anniversary event, I got my first lightning staff a couple weeks after the next year's anniversary event, despite getting the weekly mails from the leaderboard as well and double loot from the event.

I have a friend that moved from Xbox that used to run vMA every day, and had a nervous breakdown when a friend he was teaching how to run vMA got a sharpened lightning staff one before he did.

On the other hand, I have bows for all my stamina toons, multiple greatswords, mauls and axes, a bunch or DW weapons, and countless shields. I even keep a spare greatsword on my magicka NB.

I still don't have a single fire staff.

Transmutation is cool, but you still need to get the correct weapon.

I've run vMA exactly 18 times. This is a tiny sample I know. Including a double drop from the events and the weekly, I have:

    5 Mauls
    3 Inferno staves
    3 Bows
    2 Axes
    2 Resto staves
    2 Swords
    1 Battleaxe
    1 Greatsword
    1 Lightning staff
    1 Frost staff
    1 Dagger

Again, tiny sample. But it feels a bit lopsided already.

I've always said that VMA and the other raids should have a list of end rewards so you can pick what you want. Adding into it a token reward and you need 20 tokens to purchase that item sound like a way to keep the raid alive. Extend that to Dungeons as well but with it being 5 tokens per item since you usually need 5.

Yes, I also know people(myself included) still trying to get a moondancer staff. @ZOS_GinaBruno . Please ask the devs to look into something like this. This endless RNG game is getting old and at least this would give us something to work towards instead of "maybe" getting a staff eventually.
