Quite impressed with Dragon Bones DLC Update 17

In my opinion this is a very strong start into 2018 for ESO. The two dungeons seem to be very interesting, I am really looking forward to them. Tho I am pretty sure nobody really cares because we get so much other things with this update lol.

Storage in homes will allow us to store up to 360 items which is very nice. I also like the idea of being able to purchase them with Tel Var stones making Imperial City somewhat a bit more interesting for people to go to.

Skill Advisor is also a very important new system. Most new players are completely confused when they start ESO because there is so much options and things to do, so I really hope this will help the new players. Also rewarding players for leveling up seems the right way to go. I am a huge fan of everything that helps people to get to endgame faster.

Outfit System is also looking to be very promising and I do believe the prices are very fair with 100g for base motifs and 2000 for fancy motifs, previewing is possible. I do actually very much prefer this system over the transmog system.
Rich Lambert explained the hirarchy of things that overwrite each other: Costumes > Outfits > Armor. So I am pretty certain you actually can "overwrite" your Monster Helmet with an Outfit.

PTS on monday, I am looking forward to it. Let the fashion show begin!

Only thing I hope they are looking at which they did not talk about yet is the buggy Animations that were introduced with Dark Brotherhood and gotten even worse with Morrowind.

I created an article on my website summarizing both ESO Live and the Preview Article: https://alcasthq.com/dragon-bones-dlc-preview/ Once PTS goes live I will add more articles with detailed information about all the new systems.

Those prices are super reasonable! Also hoping they work in some sort of preview option. Although the jury is still out on transmogging monster sets? Any idea about that? This is the main reason I want this system and would be pretty annoying if you couldn’t.

Edit: also hoping those qol improvements contain some pretty major cyrodiil issues.

You can preview stuff yes. And as far as I understood it, you can outfit change the monster sets. Because Lambert said the hirarchy is: Costumes > Outfits > Armor

about transmog, i understood it like this: you got to the colouring table and ether you can color your armor or select motif and art of armor for every piece. so yes, monsterset should be transmogged too.

You do not change the Item itself, you technically create your own costume to put over the single Item.
So yes you can hide your monster set if you please.

Yep! I just wasn’t clear if they were extending that to monster sets. Glad to see that they are.

For me, I'm sure this is going to be one of most interesting PTS's ever. There's a lot of stuff I can play with explore and test on PTS that I'm sure I'm not going to be using much on live. There's just so much that's new.

Really hyped for Monday, even it turns out to be Tuesday.

I have high expectations as well.

Given all the information we've been provided so far the outfit system seems to be more player-friendly than so-called transmog we've been asking for for ages. I am really pleased and surprised in a positive way. Transmog would be only a one-way ticket, i.e. irreversible, while outfit system gives us an opportunity to return to the original look of an item (when we get bored) which is huge for stuff made of unique/non-craftable motifs like monster sets or maelstrom weapons.

But I would also like to have a possibility to make an outfit where e.g. a chest piece is totally hidden. Pretty much like hide helmet option we have right now. It would be a viable way to show off our hard-earned skins or tattoos and also would increase the customization options even more. Not gonna happen though I guess...

Overall I am already hyped :)

    Agreed.

Personally I would take this outfit system over traditional transmog every single day. I can't even imagine switching gear between my healers and between Meding / Worm and my support sets for Stamina between my Stamina DPS and having to remember to "sync" every single piece to the armor for that character.

I think Outfit style like they are doing is way better and way more practical.

The ONLY thing I would change, though, was to allow people to craft outfit pieces for others, just like furniture. I think it would be kind of interesting to allow that, but I understand why they did it like this.

The level up advisor is nice. When I started I looked up builds and had a guild pretty early on to help me out, but when I got my girlfriend into ESO she was very confused about builds and skills, even when reading up about them.

Overall, I'm very much looking forward to everything. However, I do wonder something about the new leveling system. It said that when you reach certain milestones, players will be rewarded with a mount or crown crates. Does this apply to people who have ALL of their character slots maxed out, or specifically new characters only? I would hope that existing characters would receive something for it as well, otherwise that will seem a little unfair to those of us that have played a little longer than others.

@DHalb91 - New characters only. The big rewards (mount, Crown Crates) are only once per account. The mount is the standard brown horse.

They'll also be selling an additional character slot for people who are 14/14 already.

Where are all these terrible rumors coming from?

More nerfs to block (which is unneeded).
More nerfs to sustain (also unneeded)
and probably more champion points (which are causing all the sustain and power creep issues.

Mr Button, Just use light amberplasm on the outfit, it's basically nothing.

Am also hyped, of the combat changes are equally nice, this update has all it needs.

I’m extremely hyped for basically everything next patch.

Since I understand the game and won’t be leveling up a new char soon, Skill Advisor+Rewards every level won’t do much for me. Still it’s a very good addition to the game.

More than that, I’m excited to see new content is staying high quality (imo) despite releasing so much of it. Huge props to ZOS!
