Hi,
I just wanted to make this post to acknowledge the lag problem that still exist in ESO. It is 2018 and ESO is about to mark 4 years anniversary.
My PC specs: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080ti, intel i7 7700k, 16GB of ram, Windows 10 pro 64 bit. 200MB Internet download Speed, 30MB upload.
I still face serious performance issues specially in Cyrodiil. You might think that I should hit at least 60 FPS considering my Graphics card right?, no you're mistaken, i get around 30 frames and the server lag is even worse. For me 60 is bad imagine the 30 FPS or below? My skills don't even work sometimes.
Instead of releasing the dragon DLC they're going to talk about on the next ESO live stream. I think they should consider a game health and performance rework DLC, wouldn't you agree?
I decided to post this because I don't see anybody caring enough about this issue, I feel like players got used to the bad performance already. We all love this game so so constructive criticism is welcome.

People have demanded system reworks or server upgrades since the game released 4 years ago. People demanded to roll back the servers to the state before the "lighting patch" that could have been partly responsible for lag increase - that didn't happen as well. People have either quit or got used to the lag in ESO's pvp. No money is to be made with Cyrodiil content/upgrades. So most likely we won't see any updates/upgrades in the future because ESO's ftp model ultimately killed of any hope for serious pvp investments - It's story DLCs which grant ZOS the big money.

i'm playing on an intel i7 7700k, 16GB of ram, Windows 10 pro 64 bit but with a GTX1060.
sometimes the game runs really good, mostly late at night, because of that i've been avoiding playing during the day, specially in big cities or places where people do duels. i think that nvidia has some kind of problem dealing with some light effects - i noticed that when the game is running well and some guys are fighting a duel with lots of effects, the frame rate drops to unbearable levels, but at the same time when i check the performance on task manager the CPU, Memory and GPU never even reaches 40% - so... i think that my PC specs should be enough to run this game, there's a lot of free Mem, CPU and GPU, and because of that i believe that some effects might be incompatible with my graphic card.
on dungeons and some trials i can play perfectly at stable 60FPS, except on falkreath hold and sanctum ophidia, i've been avoiding both too.
i wonder if anyone already found out what effects are causing those frame rate drops. it would be great if we could disable it.

What a train wreck... when will they fix this?
I pitty the devs, probably stuck between financers demanding the game be a cash cow and yet wanting to dedicate time to fixing the mess.

My lag issue is weird. it actually freezes my whole game temporarily. I thought it was ATT addon so i removed it, still does it.
Im in 3 guilds.
1. my own guild. no issues
2. trade guild with almost 500 members. Never an issue on any of the guild tabs except when ATT was running and i checked the sales tab. So i removed ATT.
3. second trade guild. If i goto guilds and select this guild, instant total freeze every single time. Then it comes good after a few seconds. If i go out of it and back in, freeze again. This is just the guild home page in the game.
Only guild #3 freezes me.
the only addons i have running are price tracker and AUI.

Has it become the norm now that in order to avoid lag and performance issue then one should avoid populated areas or play when the servers are a ghost town?
Why should that be acceptable?
If I wanted to be the only person in the game then I would have played the Witcher. The gameplay and graphics outperform most games out there.
The fact of the matter is that you are playing an online game and that means that you are there to associate with other like-minded gamers and doing content together, without any lag or performance issues.
It is sad that a company can fork out $2-5 Million dollars on a super bowl add but cannot resolve the performance issues of the actual game play.
