When they start a fight and start losing, they run away before I can kill them
    *I get ganked

*initializing anti-gank counter measures, pop corrosive armor & go ham

*nb cloaks at %15 hp and I keep getting him out of cloak with volatile armor

*I'm watching the miss miss miss ticks from all my dots and start to get annoyed

*my magicka runs out, corrosive armor runs out, nb pops cloak again and disappears...

PS to that Stamblade : IF YOU'RE READING THIS I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL KILL YOU!

I have played most pvp mmo titles of the past 20 years and was always favoring rogue/thief classes. I personally think the way ESO implemented stealth is the most forgiving, noob friendly way I've ever seen it done.

In other games there was so much burden on the stealther to maximize outcome out of the precious few second stealth-cd on rather long cooldowns, so much trouble to avoid being stealth-debuffed (unable to get into stealth again), so much art in avoiding ae damage (which wouldve brought you instantly out of stealth) and getting close to your opponent in a very limited timeframe to make your move.

Eso has nothing like that, instead stealth/cloak can be spammed, back to back with no cooldown or drawback (it even used to be a build-in purge - hilarious). Eso, unlike other games, puts all the burden of revealing and countering the stealther on the guy being attacked by the stealther, whereas other games put much more burden on the stealther to even being able to setup his next move.

So, from a cross-game POV, I find that the NB's class skill floor (entry level) is far too low, it's tools too forgiving and therefore I have issues respecting NBs in this game. But hate towards them? Nah.

    * Adds another option.....

Mainly because Incap-strike and NB-fear is very unreliable to break free from. Fear can be animationcancelled (In my opinion it should work more like the werewolf fear where it´s a slow delay on the fear) so it´ll take quite some time before you realised what happened. Incapstrike also have some weird delay in it´s stun (and it´s not latency issues) where my character freezes half a second before I get stunned to the ground. In my opinion the stun should get removed from incapstrike unless ZOS manage to fix so you can reliably break free from it

Nightblades are pure cowards that run from the 1st sign of resistance and attempt to reset a fight whenever they detect trouble; its a cheap cheese ball class that promotes cheap cheese ball tactics...

Once upon a time they were the most hated class in the game for me and I died against them frequently...

Nowadays I still dislike them, but they are now my favorite class to fight against as I've become better at killing them than any other class in the game; now I kill them far more than I die to them...

Now I use a combo of Immovable/Detection Pots, Purifying Light, and strong undodgable AoE's; this melts most Nightblades into a satisfying mound of goo...

    I love crushing Nightblades nowadays...

    :)

*signals to every other NB on the server* This guy loves crushing you - be sure to mark and murder at every available opportunity!

Oh - and be sure to run away and reset the fight because he absolutelky loves that too.

    Where's the

"They can't survive for 5 seconds in PvP with the worthless cloak & all this undodgeable damage around and ZOS clearly hates them"

    option?

Nightblades are arguably the best solo pvp class out there though, both mag and stam (if shade ever gets fixed)...

Wtb "magblade is life" option please!

Magicka can be strong if built properly, since they don't die that fast with Harness/Healing Ward slotted.

But stamina... let's just say I haven't met a single rollerblade or gankblade that would live more than 20 seconds against my magicka DK in 1v1.

Troll King gets them very close to that 20 seconds, but you just can't survive persistent undodgeable damage, volatile armors that break cloak every time & gap closers whenever you port to shade (if you live long enough to put one down & create distance to it).
It's a mission impossible - god forbid you run something like DW/Bow or Bow/Bow without Rally... dead in <5 seconds.

...and that's just a 1v1 scenario, imagine running to that undodgeable damage in 1vX. That's what you have to put up with on stamblade - I'd love to play mine but it's just way too frustrating at the moment.

The only way to really survive on stamblade (or any stam build really) is the Troll King+Heavy/S&B meta dueling setup, which isn't that viable in open world.

I have four nightblades. Really not sure why people hate them. They are easy to counter. Most nightblades are very predictable. Most people die to NB because they panic. They know the stealth is coming, they are scared of it, they get put on their heels from the up front burst and they make mistakes or start button mashing and then get feared and its over. Then they get pissed because they know they panicked and made a stupid mistake and want to project their anger on the NB who killed them lol. The ones who play it cool and play defense well are the biggest threat to an NB.

There are a lot of PVP players who don't seem to realise they are in an open ended RPG, and would find they have a better time simply playing something like Chivalry. Although, even then they would probably cry about archers being able to headshot them.

It's war. You can't expect every fight to be a stand-up brawl with fair odds. If you have no counter to ganking you will be ganked. And ganking is harder to do than you think it is in the first place. I tried and never succeeded much.

Frankly nightblades kinda suck, the only thing we have is the cloak. If you hate them you must be unimaginably bad.

With their cloak they are the one of the hardest classes of finishing off.... its doable but a good nightblade that failed a gank will with ease disappear and leave until its safe to try and gank again. Annoying fricking things. I prefer the nightblades that are built for bombing and other, I only really hate the ganking cloakers.

I love Nightblades, and in particular Magblades.

What do I hate dislike? People who are afraid to die and go all heavy armor and tanky build (and still can dish out to much damage for my taste) so other armor types (mainly LA) are useless to go toe on toe with them and they still complain about NB's when they need to flee.

People want your help at the most inappropriate times. If you see me hiding in stealth don't run toward me when you start to get zerged down I'm not going to help you and die. That's really selfish of you.

    I think you misinterpret that.

People do that because everyone knows NBs are hated and given the chance most people will change target to an exposed pesky sneaking coward.

I do it all the time. NBs are the best mhb in the game. I don´t want your help. I want you to die so i can live.

@DDuke you can´t really reference your own build that you also use in duels as "the norm" in cyrodiil. You´re one of 3 DKs total that have chains slotted maybe - against any DK without a gapcloser (not arguing if that´s idiotic or not here) NB is fine.

A nb built for open world (meaning not maximum dmg but rather enough magrec + defense) is the most survivable solo class atm and also best at killing potatos.

I’d ask ZOS the same question. Freakin everything breaks cloak, shadow image bugged to hell, fear nerfed. A class that relies completely on evasion and misdirection gets its most powerful tools nerfed and broken. And then people *** and moan when you use cloak to gain the upper hand, force crit heals and strikes. Grow up, plenty of good players can still trash me even if I use cloak. If you can’t beat a NB then they’re either really good or you suck. It’s the same as every other class, no more or less advantages than anyone else. And I say this after playing as both stam and magblade and fighting against them as various stam and mag classes. My respect for people who use cloak very well has only increased.

    Indeed,

Let's instead talk about shield stacking streaking sorcs or HA unkillable uber DK tanks. Those are the real *** who actually think they are good players whilst it's their setup that is good.

So I was grouping with a Mag NB the other day.

I was about to die - I was on my stamden and had a few people chasing me and I was taking a lot of dmg. Then the Mag MB cast healing ward on me, which allowed me to heal up, turn around, and DB + shalks + reverse slice the people following me.

I was so happy. I’d never grouped with a mag Nb that uses teamwork before. I’d never been saved by a NB before!

New thoughts went through my head: Maybe I was wrong! Maybe nightblades can be good team players!
