Hundings, VO, masters daggers. I have tried many set ups with masters bow and asylum 2h, i just wasn't a fan. I decided to try hundings, viper, and masters daggers, very potent but it lacked the major expedition needed to make the escapes and successfully kite. So i tried VO in its place, and its honestly been working very well. I have great burst, my rending hits like a truck, i constantly have my major expedition buff and my sustain is great. I was able to swap siphoning strikes for siphoning attacks increasing my mag sustain as well.

i am in agreement with your choice of sets. and i sometimes run what you have listed here.
but is allways a problem for me needing fast sneak somewhere into the equation.
allways feels like im doing balancing act with choices of damage / protection / sneak speeds

I felt the same way about dw/2h for a while, but there are some skills/sets that can fix the speed problem.

i dont know if you think im new or just what but i DO NOT want those sets.

i was asking for increased sneak speeds.
Ah i thought you were talking about major expedition. If that was the case, theres options.

    that simply is not true.
there are some sets and skills and vampire abilities that can give a weak increase but do nothing for proper sneak speeds that i am asking for.
please consider the fact that i have investigated this matter completely and that i do know allot about this subject.

zenimax, please increase sneak speeds for all classes.

The vampire perk works well IMHO and w/ a buff from the bow bar ( roll dodge, escape passive ) or rapid maneuver.. but.. then fire melts you pretty freaking quick. Sigh. Sadly though I couldn't even play my Stamblade without that vampire passive. But with it ... it's almost as unplayable. I'm pretty much a free kill if someone catches me out of stealth without my rally ticking.

The stamblades that seem to consistently beat me 1v1 are the ones that use minor defile poisons and put a ton into befoul.

Defile is pretty OP atm, and because nightblades have major defile built into their burst combo, they’re pretty OP as well.

Freaking wrecks my magplar. Going to have to start running shields with that stuff out there.

My NB I have been running Hundings and shadow walker with 1 piece krahg. A quick LOS and crouch to cloak while rally and/or vigor is already ticking and Im ready to go again in a couple seconds.

Viper/Vicecannon/1 Kena/Masters bow is so money. Sure viper isn't FOTM anymore but it keeps people in execute range for a while giving you a large window for executes after the inevitable stun from some zergling spamming snipe.

Oh dang. Thank you for that. Might need to get me a Master's bow to try it out.. that's only 1 PC away from testing for me. VO sounds promising too.

I won't share my build but heres my 2 cents on the topic of DW/2H vs 2H/bow

I've learned stamblade from the start using DW/2H in PvP, and let me tell you it's so much better for learning PvP mechanics since it's an all melee playstyle. It really teaches you how to get in and out of fights using cloak and LOS since you don't have major expedition from bow. After testing with 2H/bow it feels so easy, I guess that's why it's meta just like proc sets were and yea it can feel like fighting vs an army of clones. Next time you're fighting stamblades take a mental note of how skillful 2h/bow ones are and how skillful DW/2H ones are. Whenever I'm fighting a DW/2H one I know s**t's about to go down lol. That's not to say that all 2h/bow stamblades are bad, but most are mediocre since they just copy builds from streamers/youtubers which 90% of them upload 2h/bow videos.

Also about DW+bow I don't really like this since your only heal is vigor and you lose the healing from rally and major brutality as well. Plus if you're running forward momentum you are now forced to use shuffle which might seem bread and butter for most but is really optional for those instagib builds. You also have to get major brutality from pots or flying blade which isn't ideal since you get major brut. mid-fight instead of at the start otherwise you waste the other stats from your pot.

DW/2H and 2H/Bow is a fundamentally different playstyle. Most of the argumentation you've made in your post is just ludicrous.

What exactly was ludicrous about the OP? And yes, obviously they are different playstyles but in my opinion the playstyle of 2H/DW is much harder to be efficient with and requires more understanding of game mechanics. How many snipe spammers are you seeing in Cyrodiil standing behind 20 other people who never get targetted. With 2H/DW you are always the target vs a good group as soon as you go in. That is why I mentioned that playing 2H/DW really teaches you how to go in and out without using shadow image.

How is it harder to understand the game mechanics? How is shadow image strictly for a 2h and bow build? One can learn to “get in and get out” regardless of build. That makes zero sense, as if some how playing one style stops me from going on the internet and learning the game mechanics? Plus you can slot retreating maneuvers at ANY point in either build if you want to get in and get out. I’ve played both DW/2h and 2h/bow on my NB as soon as stamina builds became viable in 1.6. Haven’t gone back to mage blade since. There is little difference between 2h/bow and DW/2h. Both have access to major expedition, bow with hasty retreat and DW with quick cloak. If you aren’t using quick cloak btw you’re doing it wrong as it’s extremely powerful tool.
A person can use forward momentum instead of rally and use shrouded dagger for major brutality and spam that, hitting THREE people, from behind others just as someone can get behind others and spam bow attacks, albeit bow with better range, but still both safe behind others none the less. Neither style takes any more or less skill that’s completely rediculous and clearly based on zero evidence. DW/2h builds to me are attractive simply because they can complete another 5 piece set bonus, which if we are going to talk in terms of what’s easier or harder, having an extra 5 pc bonus makes it easier in fact. I can do the same stuff with either build just as effectively.

DW/Bow 5x Sheer Venom 5x Hunding's 2x Selene & infused Master's Bow on off bar would still probably be my go-to if I were to play my melee stamblade. Sustain is just a matter of how much heavy attack weaving you want to do.

What really matters is being able to kill your targets fast enough and being able to heal through as much undodgeable damage as possible.

I've also had some amount of fun with 5x Morag 5x Marksman Asylum Bow/Master's Bow bow build, but that's sadly ruined by Miats addon at the moment

But ransack is faster and cheaper.

The other idea is to use heroic slash and WW as ulti

Yeah I've been playing with Shadow Walker too. Hard to nail down but.. as long as people don't figure out what you're doing going from no-resources/HP to full on everything in less than 3 - 5 secs w/ rally ticking is pretty nice.

A lot of stamblades are built for a solo, hit-and-run playstyle, but I prefer to play as a brawler in small to medium-sized groups (even raids). For that, the bow is mostly useless, so I run DW/2H, 5 heavy, 2 medium. I have good defenses with Blade Cloak and Mirage, as well as longer-lasting Shadow Barrier with heavy. Healing is covered by Vigor, Forward Momentum, and you know, healers. I also run Brawler with the Master's 2H, providing a hefty shield in scrums and some added offense.

What build do you use? I have some amazing solo builds but honestly they provide little to raids and such. Been trying to find something I can switch to when I’m bigger groups to be more than single target burst and be able to survive while standing in one spot (which goes against my instincts as an NB lol).

For gear, I use 5 Bone Pirate (jewellery, belt, hands), 5 Clever Alchemist (chest, legs, boots, nirnhoned dagger with poison enchant, infused or sharpened axe with weapon damage enchant), 2 Monster (Bloodspawn, Troll King, 1 Kena/1Veli are all good), 2H Master's Battle Axe (nirnhoned or defending, with Escapist Poison).

DW Bar: Surprise Attack/Blood Craze or Vigor/Killer's Blade/Ambush/Blade Cloak/Incapacitating Strike
    2H: Brawler/Mirage or Vigor/Manifestation of Terror/Forward Momentum, Relentless Focus/Dawnbreaker of Smiting

Typically in a raid group, I buff up with Blade Cloak, Forward Momentum, Relentless Focus, then blast into the enemy blob with a couple of Brawler swings (best if you hit three or more targets, which gives you a damage shield, hits harder than Steel Tornado, and applies a bleed). Throw down Manifestation of Terror, which sets down two traps, each of which can fear 6 targets. Maybe heavy attack, Dawnbreaker. Meanwhile, the enemy has probably been hit by a Negate and/or EotS. Switch to DW, drink a Crit/Health/Stam pot to activate Clever Alchemist, then start finishing people off with single target attacks and executes. At that point, fully buffed, insane weapon damage of almost 5K. Killer's Blade is superior to 2H Reverse Slice here, because you're still taking damage and the heal is great.

Great survivability, group contributions in the form of AoE and fears, and the ability to finish off targets once the tide of battle has turned. :D

Been playing around with a max stam build for open Cyrodiil for the last week or so. Sitting at about 41.2k stam on it right now. Mag regen is a bit low but the heals are superior and the 2H abilities are hitting like a truck. Will do some more evaluation then maybe post something up
