What are you finding effective for PvP in terms of builds/sets/skills etc? I've experimented a lot with different sets and thus far I've had the most luck with 2 different set-ups and I've tried a TON of different set combinations. So far the most effective one for me has been.

Race: Khajiit
Stage 4 Vamp for the speed passives. Melt vs. fire tho. I freaking MELT.
Mundus: Shadow
7 Medium: Viper/Vicecannon/[Selene's or Velidreth]
Usually either 2H/DW or 2H/Bow. I prefer 2H/Bow for Cyro and 2H/DW for BGs. Sits at approx 31k stam, 2100wpn dmg, 2100 regen w/ Dubious. Less sustain but hits like a Mac truck.

OR
Mundus: The Tower
7 Medium: Viper / Bone Pirate / w/ a random bow. Sits at approx 36k stam, 2200 WPN dmg, 2400 regen w/ dubious. Great for sprinting around , sneaking, vigor etc. Not as bursty as previous build but feels a lot more well rounded.

Main bar: Ambush, Surprise attack, Killer's Blade, [ Changeable: Camo Hunter, Blade Cloak, Flying Blade ( DW ) , Shadowy Disguise ( Higher crit , synergizes w/ Vicecannon.. or doesn't.. depending on how you look at it. )

Backbar: Vigor, Rally, Executioner, Camo Hunter, Shuffle.

Poison: Damage Health IX
Inc cost of Stam abilities 30% for 4.3s(?)
Inc cost of Mag abilities 30% for 4.3s
1,600 dmg /s for 4 s.

Been through a TON of different combos. What's working for you right now? Any heavy armor hunters out there? I'm at undaunted 5, so unable to run 5/1/1 atm but I do have Clever Alch, Hundings and Eternal Hunt ready for the 5/1/1 build for testing once undaunted is up to 9.

Reminder: This thread is for players of Nightblades. Not trollers of Nightblades. If you decide to try to troll this post in any way, you hereby agree that you're a potato.. and potatoes are dum.

The stamblades that seem to consistently beat me 1v1 are the ones that use minor defile poisons and put a ton into befoul.

Defile is pretty OP atm, and because nightblades have major defile built into their burst combo, they’re pretty OP as well.

No mate. Its complete garbage. If you want to run 2h and bow run either eternal hunt, bonepirate or shackle with 3 agility a masters bow and a asylum 2h with a monster set of your choice. Preferably bloodspawn/selenes or trollking.

I don’t know why you’re telling me what to use, I’ve never used viper, even when it was “good”.

The OP uses viper. I’m just telling you it’s not garbage, because he is using two high damage dots for pressure.

Considering I've experimented with Spriggans, Hundings, Eternal Hunt, Leviathan, Shadow Walker, Impregnable, Bone Pirate, Agility and Shield Breaker.. and after extensive testing through different set combinations and builds... came up with what has been working best? No. It's not garbage. Consider trying to add a little more to the conversation.

I had 30 points into defile at one point and it really does help especially when trying to focus down someone spamming BOL. Ty for reminding me to throw some points back into it @_@ Also running Damage Health Potion IX. Forgot to mention that, big part of the build.

The only reason I run 2H is for Rally. Otherwise It'd be dual wield / bow all day. 2H feels* so clunky for weaving light attacks. DW = Way better burst damage.

i am in agreement with your choice of sets. and i sometimes run what you have listed here.
but is allways a problem for me needing fast sneak somewhere into the equation.
allways feels like im doing balancing act with choices of damage / protection / sneak speeds

I am still playing around with a few sets but ive found this set up to work pretty good

3 x agility (healthy or robust) 5 x automaton 2 x troll king all impenetrable all medium
    two-hander asylum + Master bow

Stage 4 vampire for ganking and stealth movement speed

Pretty good all round stats with good ult return and healing from troll king(even as vampire).

Ah thank you. Automaton is one I haven't gotten to try yet. Same with Sword Singer and the other 2H focus one. I also haven't had the opportunity to try out 2x trollking as I only have 1 pc right now, but def interested in that too. I also run Stage 4 Vamp ( updating post ) otherwise the sneak speeds would be unbearable.

They just have no thought outside of the meta and what others feed them to use. I find it hilarious yet sad.

I won't share my build but heres my 2 cents on the topic of DW/2H vs 2H/bow

I've learned stamblade from the start using DW/2H in PvP, and let me tell you it's so much better for learning PvP mechanics since it's an all melee playstyle. It really teaches you how to get in and out of fights using cloak and LOS since you don't have major expedition from bow. After testing with 2H/bow it feels so easy, I guess that's why it's meta just like proc sets were and yea it can feel like fighting vs an army of clones. Next time you're fighting stamblades take a mental note of how skillful 2h/bow ones are and how skillful DW/2H ones are. Whenever I'm fighting a DW/2H one I know s**t's about to go down lol. That's not to say that all 2h/bow stamblades are bad, but most are mediocre since they just copy builds from streamers/youtubers which 90% of them upload 2h/bow videos.

Also about DW+bow I don't really like this since your only heal is vigor and you lose the healing from rally and major brutality as well. Plus if you're running forward momentum you are now forced to use shuffle which might seem bread and butter for most but is really optional for those instagib builds. You also have to get major brutality from pots or flying blade which isn't ideal since you get major brut. mid-fight instead of at the start otherwise you waste the other stats from your pot.

You see more 2h/bow because it's just honestly more effective. Infused Masters bow is just too good.

I have 3 stamblades. Orc redguars and wood elf. Have played every class on the game extensively, ive forgetten more about stamblade than most people even know..if you want a DW build then.rum bonepirates spriggans. Use 1 mag regen glyph. Go 5 medium 2 heavy if possible. Drop vamp because everyone uses fire staffs as casters or dawnbreaker as stam builds. Also if you can ,change race from khajit. Oh and drop viper. Its complete garbage.

What exactly was ludicrous about the OP? And yes, obviously they are different playstyles but in my opinion the playstyle of 2H/DW is much harder to be efficient with and requires more understanding of game mechanics. How many snipe spammers are you seeing in Cyrodiil standing behind 20 other people who never get targetted. With 2H/DW you are always the target vs a good group as soon as you go in. That is why I mentioned that playing 2H/DW really teaches you how to go in and out without using shadow image.
