    I found that's best to do normal solo or with friends for reading quests dialogues and books, otherwise just screenshot all dialogues and close them so group will not wait, so I can read them in less hectic time.
    Also, group usually wait for you if you announce in chat that's you have quest.

    Normal dungeon. I would not care about anything. If i can't complete the quest today, I'll complete it another day.
    I'll put some moderate effort in it. Grab the loot and exp bonus. Do not say anything in chat, because who cares.
    That's normal dungeon mode. NORMAL.

    I get this sort of situation a lot as a player that likes to stop and smell the roses, I merely do the first option, neutral Evil as stated, because I figured at that point the group doesn't care and the drama from talking about it anymore would be a waste of time.

    It sucks though and my most hated groups by far, give me a noob group anyday over this.

    The quest finishes at the end regardless if you did any of the objectives just pickup the quest, no need to be a sook. and chances are you've already done it on another character so why does it matter so much?

    to your first, you are correct, though some of the dungeons have long rp and if no one else waits for it to finish, you get kicked out of the dungeon before you can turn it in.

    to the second - because its a skill point and a ton of xp.

    1) Tell group BEFORE the first objective/accepting the quest "im doing the quest" and ask if they can hold up when npcs gotta do their slowass thing.

    2) just go through the dungeon anyways with the group. If you had helped them deal with the first boss its possible the quest would have skipped to the part after beating the boss.(there are a few that dont update, VoM comes to mind here and yet the npcs are soooooo slow)

    3) git gud :D:p

    What would I do (and what I actually did when encountered this type of a-holes) - Finish as much of your quest as possible, keep on finishing rest of the dungeon. Then either wait till you get to that dungeon again or queue for that specific dungeon only and continue the quest from when you ended last time [this is more efficient since even if you encounter egoistic players few times in a row, you will finish the quest at some point anyway].

    Other option is to gather 3 more friends to do the dungeon you did not finish yet.

    It is reasonable to expect there will be players that might need to complete the quest in any given pug group. If they can't be bothered to assist and are fine with wasting my time I might be inclined to waste as much of theirs as possible.

    The difficulty here though is it's a normal dungeon that can be completed easily by just about anyone with a group of any size 1-4, so not doing anything won't really effect them. Still would do nothing, let them do the work. Grab the loot and move on to the quest again since completing the dungeon will probably be faster than waiting for the 15 minute cool down.

    If in veteran mode I would seriously enjoy trolling especially if I was the healer.

    If you are doing the quest, you should tell. While there are plenty of bad people who dont give a damn, others, such asmyself, will wait for you and wont disband until you are done. Still, this requires interacting with real human beings.

    all I have to say is "welcome to ESO your late to the party".

    it's not just ESO though. There's this rush-rush mentality with some players to get it done ASAP because it's work for them.

    That's one of the reasons I like delves and public dungeons. You can go in by yourself and take as long as you like. Kill every mob if you want, loot every box if you want, read every bookcase if you want. In delves I can do the boss myself. In public dungeons I'll hang around a bit to see if others show up for the bosses (which usually happens).

    You because you had the audacity to presume three strangers would/should cater a dungeon run for you..

    sigh.

    It is a bare minimum of thought that would allow realization that:

    1-it's an MMOrpg, therefore there will be many others with slightly disparate approaches to the game.

    2-inherently there will always be people who "haven't done X" yet, and <gasp> they may show up in YOUR DUNGEON especially if <gasp> you use the (wait for it) Random Dungeon Group Finder

    3-Not being even minimally considerate to such a situation, shows once again that First World [insert insulting body partss of your choice here] are still playing this game....and haven't yet taken a chance on actual maturity as an option.

    So again, I say they aren't worth my time, and I'd leave the group.

    I've been happy and even honored to help out newbies, wait, advise. It's a nice way to welcome folks to the game and meet new friends.

    If they're that inconsiderate that they won't let you do the quest, then they'll all leave before you can actually turn the quest in, and your time will end up being wasted because of that idiotic feature that kicks people out of dungeons within seconds after the rest of the group leaves. That's happened to me before. In this case, it's best to drop out of the group and queue for another one.

    BUT if i see notice that a guy gone to the quest giver i usually slow down on the slower parts to let him finish...
    and even do the side objectives if the dungeon has some.

    That's another thing. I had a dungeon quest recently where I skipped a step because I ran forward with the group, but when I reached the next boss it autoupdated to the next step.

    theres at least one dungeon where it wont work. the step was 'wait for blah to check damage' and they ran off ahead and i didnt speak up. never advanced that quest. this was way before the event though.

    When I was new I would have dropped group and formed one with other newbies who wanted to actually fight.

    These days I'd just do the obj myself and zerg past them to whatever boss had to die for me to progress.

    In my opinion ESO shouldn't even let cp 159> in normals.

    But unless that happens (it won't) If you want to play a certain way you need to bring people along who will vote how you need them to.

    I'd leave group. I've done it before. *** 'em. If they can't slow down and let me do the quest, they don't need my help completing the dungeon. If they don't care that I would like to complete the quest of that toon for my own reason, then why should I care about them? Respect is a two-way street. I always let other people do the quest because I would like to be treated the same.

    On that note, there are dungeon I typically refuse to do with pugs because of how common it is for pugs to rush through them. And it's so dumb because it actually causes more problems and more deaths than if the group stayed together and did the dungeon at a more reasonable pace. I will occasionally sign up with one of those runs with guildies but I confess I'd much rather just chill, kill everything and not make anyone feel rushed.

    if this is your main character you could try to solo the dungeon (spec into dd if tank) or try another group. If not, then forget about quests and play for other rewards:
    - kill bosses->learn mechanics;
    - different role->gameplay diversity;
    - Undaunted passive;
    - keys, transmutes, gear, gold;
    - exp->CP.

    In the rare occasions that I decide to PUG a dungeon I usually end up doing 70-80% of the group DPS while self sustaining. I realize that 99% of the general ESO populace don't even realize that there exists a tier of gameplay they cannot or will not put in the effort to reach.

    I finish the dungeon and go back to farming zergs in Cyro for AP.
    I play how I want to.
