Gambling is a form of entertainment. It is a great time every time I have been to Vegas. I plan on what I will spend on Gambling and stretch that out for the entire trip. Normally you win small amounts to keep going and it is all in good fun.
I use this example becasue this is the same thing. Opening crown crates is fun. I enjoy it. I use a pre-defined amount of money that fits in my budget and enjoy it.
It is better to know you limits and plan these kinds of entertainments out and stick to that plan. You will remove the stress involved and relive yourself of some in the process becasue you are enjoying yourself.
Good luck
It's roughly a 0.2-0.3% chance to get a specific Apex mount like you were trying to do.
That means if you bought 1000 crates, you'd have a 92% chance of the specific mount dropping.

Dude, $40 is 15 Crown Crates. With $40, you can buy numerous games out there that are essentially “bundles” which include multiple games all-in-one.
For example, you could buy Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy. That includes the first 3 Crash Bandicoot games, completely remastered in 1080p/4K. And I believe at 60fps. Not a fan of platforming? Pick-up Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 Remix. That game consists of the entire Kingdom Hearts line-up (the first 6 games), minus 2.8 and Kingdom Hearts 3. KH3 having not been released yet, by the way. And 2.8 is the prologue to 3, which came after the 1.5+2.5 HD bundle. And naturally, it too is again at 1080p/4K at 60fps.
Mind you, those are all just examples. There are so many games out there that you can pick-up for $40, that are absolute steals for their price. And even better, there is no RNG involved about what you’re getting. Or little cosmetic bonus. N’ah. I’m talking entire games that bundled onto 1 disc (or download if going about digital purchasing), that will certainly keep you more entertained than a mount or vanity pet.

I'm kind of curious... someone playing ESO and you think they'd be interested in other types of non-sword & sorcery or non-MMO games? Personally, I play only a certain type of game, currently there are no other types of these games on the market. I'm not a 'game hopper' and I much prefer games that have no end, which is why I enjoy ESO. Not everyone who plays games likes to play ANY game that comes along, there are many of us here who are playing ESO solely because of what it offers and because there are no other games currently offering the same things on the gaming market.

There's your problem.
Here the thing, these things are optional. There is not reason to get frustrated. Stop buying them. Why continue to do something that is causing you stress when you do not have to.

I do hope governments around the globe do implement some laws regarding "lootboxes".
Or at least the gaming industry in general agrees on some rules.
My suggestion:
Every game offering lootboxes must implement a mechanic that caps the money a single person will eventually have to spend to get each and every single item by amount X per year (or fiscal year).
If there's more than one "season" of lootboxes, amount X has to be split by the number of seasons.
The implementation may be like ESO's gems, or rigging the numbers.. in its most extreme form granting every item the customer did not get so far inside his final lootbox before going over the cap.
Improvements welcome!

Good advice. This is pretty much what I do when I gamble. Never been to Vegas myself. However, there is a Casino here locally I never stepped foot in. I hope to experience what it's like to be in a Casino at least once or twice in my lifetime.
Yes, because more government control is a good thing.

In some situations yes. There are regulations in place to make sure that casinos do not abuse vulnerable people, that vulnerable people can not get their hands on too much alcohol, that children can not become brides, nor can be abused... Or are you against that too?
