What is the justification of "50" Transmute Crystals!!!

PS4 NA 30-day just ended. I was around rank 10,000 since the load screens prevented me from playing, my alliance was 3rd place and I was tier 3(maxed) end of campaign rewards.

I got 100 transmute crystals. 50 from 1 piece of mail, 50 from the other.

Nice, enjoy PvP. I've started doing some small scale with friends. We wound up in REALLY ridiculous situations we, somehow, survived through. I was lucky on Saturday to get another RoTW with 5 crystals in it, after I had gotten my daily.

50 crystals is nothing, even if you don't PvP. All it takes is a few hours of grinding.

Compare this to the previous system, which took hundreds of hours of grinding to get your preferred trait.

If you were unlucky before, ~50 runs is a blessing. If you were already lucky, the system is not intended to make it even easier for you.

You are doing it wrong (if you have more than 1 character that is), jump in pvp on a strong character get a few RotW in your mailbox and open up 1 on each character instead of all of them on the same character. Rinse and repeat every 24 hours

I think its great. Instead of running vma 10k times, I run it 5 times (to get the type of weapon I need) and then run 20 dungeons and a few days of pvp and I have the perfect weapon for life.

It's what players always wanted and I love it.

I've completed vMA about 25-30 times now and still have never gotten a fire staff of any trait.

I do have about ten 2H weapons though.

I've also gotten more crystals in 20 minutes of PVP than 5 hours of vMA.

I wish crystals were tradable. I could make heaps of cash, and casuals or players short on time could transmute without the grind. The current system seems half-baked to me.

They could do that.
The way I see it though, is that transmutation is aimed at bind on pickup gear, the gear that drops in dungeons and arenas. The only way to get this gear is to do the dungeons anyway.

Of course you can transmute bind on equip gear. But you can also buy this gear, in the correct trait, from traders or random players.

I like how the geodes drop. It's good for PvE and PvP.
Besides if geodes dropped from nodes the drop rate would be low. By the time you collected 50 this way you probably would have farmed 1000 nodes.

Yeah, it doesn't consume the trait stone as far as I know.

I thought you did have to have the item and use it. I retraited to nirn the other day and couldn’t select nirnhoned as I didn’t have the potent crux; I could after I bought one, though. I’ll have to see if it consumed it, but I definitely had to at least have one in my possession before choosing.

It is the reward people for doing the content.... you cannot believe how quickly I got to 100 crystals.. then I had to scramble to find something to transmute so I could go back to doing content.

Now this new event I am nearly at the cap agian... and there is still 5 days until the research is done so I can transmute the thing I really want to transmute.

I think the transmute crystal gathering rate and the cost is pretty much perfect.

Someone who only has one or very few toons or doesn't do any pvp may be at a disadvantage but even so they will start to add up quickly. First random of the day get you stones. Veteran pledges HM clears get you I think 1 to 10. Weekly trial boxes is 5 and it's same on normal. If you pvp a lot and still enjoy pve then gg....like seriously I am running out of things to transmute.
