Lotro had a wardrobe feature in which you could equip any choice of gear, then save that look as your own personal "costume". That's the best and simplest way to do it, IMO.

This is the definition of underwhelming. You can turn an item to a new style. Only for yourself though. Assuming it’s bound and the currency too. In terms of a quality of life upgrade it’s like polishing a turd.

Real quality of life upgrades would be increase house item capacity, customise house, mount, pet and even item colours.

Allow for synergy experiments between furnishing recipes.

Allow for some style mats to be combined or upgraded into Chrysopoeia (making gold through particle acceleration).

Allow for horses to carry a second player in Cyrillic who can snipe at players trying to gank you.

    Make voice chat work.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. All I want to do is to be able to intrinsically CHANGE the appearance of each piece of armor from one motif to another. From the Russian translation, this sounds like it could be something else... like some kind of overlay plastered on top of your armor, without actually modifying anything. I don't want Costumes 2.0!
yes, the data sounds a bit like costumes 2.0 rather than style change. To me the system sounds like lot more work than simple wow style transmogrification and less flexible.
    Har 3 request for system
    1) out of weight for armor, this probably works here, would not work with simple style transform.
    2) using lower level gear, fear it would not work as you need to know style not use gear as template.
    3) recolor the pieces, also fear this will not work or would require an separate process
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Agree 100%. Loved that system.

You basically have a virtual closet with "outfits" in them.
You get a couple outfit slots by default; can buy more from the store.

Open up Outfit 1: drag *any armor in the game* into each slot and it makes a copy (you can also dye each piece).

The cosmetic set you create sits on top of your actual gear and is visible anywhere but PvP zones.

Not everything needs a grind attached (for the record I generally don't mind grinds) to it and this is an example of a terrific QoL feature that should be open to all.

I'm sure they're well down the road to whatever they are going to do, but I really hope they took a look at LOTRO's setup. They got it right IMO.

How nice would it be if they simply added an "Alter" option to crafting stations? No gimmick, nothing to farm, just a way to make your character look the way you want assuming you know the style you're trying to create. I know, of course, that this would be too much to ask.

From what it looks like, and previous design decisions, It does seem like this is something that adds value to the crafting Motif's, considering you would have to have the Motif you would like to change your outfit too. Pretty spot on ZOS, thank you.

This is exactly what I don't want.

    1) We already have a costume system, we don't need another one.

    2) What we do need is a system to change the motif of a piece of gear.

    3) This motif change system does NOT need to be complicated. Why not just right click on it?

Why is this so hard for y'all to understand? An ugly monster shoulder is still ugly in spirit even when a fake costume is plastered over it. I don't want to wear fake costumes into battle, even if they look like real armor. What I do want is to wear my real armor that has been modified to a different motif!

I like the way this sounds, so it seems that you will basically create costumes for your character using known motifs as the template, I really like this. I think knowing a style should have allowed this from the start. AD motif is awesome but when wearing drop sets it doesn't matter, can't wear what I want anyway. This way we can make our own "costumes" from known motifs, gives a lot of freedom.

Your idea is a really good one, which I have no problem with.

Yes, we already have a costume system, but it's 1 piece and we can't create costumes. What I'm describing from LOTRO is the ability to take any 7 pieces of armor (head, legs, chest, etc) and turn them into a "costume" of your own creation. You could store multiple costumes (and edit them) + buy more slots from their store. You could even dye each cloned item.

I like that idea also. Opinions. We've all got one. <3

Spell Crafting is never happening. Any spell crafting system with enough versatility to make it worth using would be impossible to balance. Any spell crafting system that is balanced will be so restricted in functionality that it would render the entire system pointless.

It's a cool concept, but I'm worried that Spellcrafting is going to fall into this weird inbetween place. What I mean, is that it'll be too watered down so that it doesn't break the game. So, in essence, restrictive enough so that it doesn't break the game but then because it is so restrictive it's then like ...'Why did we bother then?" Does that make sense?

From that I get with style templates this sounds more like of an sort of costume creator or costume slots than changing style of armor

    I really hope not.

Or if so, I hope that you can dye each piece individually. The "costume" versions or armor sets are crappy to dye (one piece's "trim" is another pieces' "middle")
