1. Obtain and equip a level-appropriate* shield.
2. Obtain and equip a level-appropriate one-handed weapon.
3. Walk out of whatever town or house you're in and kill one monster.
4. Slot the Puncture skill you just obtained.
5. Queue as the tank you now are**.

* Level-appropriateness not really needed
* * In the dungeon, use Puncture on the bosses every 15 seconds. Between those, run your normal DPS rotation as you see fit.

Bonus points: Craft yourself a set of heavy armor with the Health enchantment. Not really needed but you'll feel tankier.

Agreed. Or slot the undaunted skill inner fire and use it. You are now a tank. If you can't be bothered to do even that much, I hope zos bans you one day.

No tank is needed on normal dungeons.
Any class even non cp should be able to survive if you know how to play the basics by avoiding aoe and blocking

Standard silly response “it normal dungeon, everything dies easy”, if you want to be a tank be a tank or at least a hybrid tank....normal dungeons are there so people that need to learn have an avenue to practise there roles not get inconvenient by standard by passing of wait times by queuing as a tank or healer when individual cannot do basic of each role..

It's only the event that is causing the hysteria.

Jeez, I can’t believe I’ve been reluctant to play my fully-leveled, max CP tank in this event just because I rarely tank dungeons.

You will be found out in something like Bloodroot Forge, especially if the groups other DPS is lacking. Not every DD queuing in dungeon finder is max CP, with a top build, a perfect rotation and 20-30k DPS.

I'd prefer pressure be put on ZOS to change how dungeon queuing works than encourage people to find ways around it.

Yeah the dlc tougher ones would require a tank but the odds on getting those are slim.
If a fank is present they would soon be found out and replaced with a proper one

Honestly, 4 dps is definitely the way to go, as long as everyone is mostly self sufficient.

I only see the fake tank/healer thing to be a issue if it's a struggle to get through the dungeon. Then, yes, by all means, be upset. If things are melting and there's no issue of not completing the dungeon, then who honestly cares?
Tanks/healers get instaqueues pretty much, so it's not like the fake ones are taking a real spot away from one of them. Don't worry about them, if that's the issue. They are fine. You're not preventing them from practicing thier role...they still get a near instaqueue, just not in your particular group, and if your role is healer/damage, how is having a fake tank not letting you practice your own role?
It's only an issue if it's causing wipes. If not, don't let it ruin your day or make outraged posts on the forums. Complete your dungeon, get your reward, and don't think about how other people play. Try it once...see how freeing it can be. It'll lower the blood pressue, at least..

I can solo all normal dungeons on my DPS characters. I and my pals only queue in for the random xp.

Usually just me and one to two pals will queue together. Never had our fourth person ever complain about getting carried for easy xp.

This "fake tank in normal dungeon" is a non-issue, and really is a learn-to-play problem. Any DPS worth their salt can carry a normal dungeon without a tank.

I mean if someone doesnt understand that standing in the red circles is bad for their health, and that when the enemy gets white lines around them that you should block then they obviously need more practice in overland and delves.

As for more complicated mechanics, well in normal they tend to be pretty forgiving, and you for the most part can just push through anyway.

Just this. This is why people still fail at doing veteran dungeons, because nobody takes the effort to learn how to tank.

This only work if you are non CP or don't sub. As a CP level player with ESO+ I never pull this fake trick if I cannot proper tank or heal. Sadly many people still think fake roles is helping and if someone don't want to carry you, they're selfish. "You can blast thru normal DLC dungeons with DD too." Yeah, assume you have pre-group with experient players in good gear. Not all people queuing for random are.

I turned my level 25 werewolf warden into a tank by doing the same thing what the OP said. It worked. Grab a low level friend if you are 50 and don't want to queue into a DLC dungeon as a faux-tank.

Many still have problems in normals, many are fresh many just don't get the game in whole untill they do x time the same content and see how others do.

I was recently in random normal with a pug, was a DK well geared tank cp700+, the others were a mix of classes and levels, but the one who queued as templar healer was constantly taunting boss like mad with puncture, with 1 hand and shield, breaking my taunts. Finally the so called healer on my request stopped taunting boss and started playing dps with occasionaly BoE, but in a meantime one guy with the lowest health and no experience was dying there multiple times. He had no heals, no food, and healer really was an arse. Going for random in pvp tanky gears as he claimed. Wasn't kicked only because I was affraid we couldn't find a replacement soon and once I was the only tank in group again there was no more dying.

So yes, tank is still needed for a normal dungeons, for pugs. No one knows who you will meet out there.
