what are the least skilled ppl u see from the finder like?

    Plenty of people can be less than ideal to play with... those who try to skip as much as possible are a pet peeve of mine and it is true less that 50% of people fit the most generic description of their role but these are common video game issues not unique to ESO so I've learned to brush it off.

    I think the only real issue I've had is with bosses with heavy vampiric mechanics... luckily there aren't many but quite a few times my wife had to wait for people to rage quit because they didn't understand they were feeding the boss endless health so we could just finish the dungeon literally having it be easier with two people. Would be less of an issue if they'd talk but I play on console so most people are mutes XD

    That said we try and laugh it off hardly adult problems lol.

    I was a CP 290 healer and had a 690 dps bow user. I'm a decent enough healer. I've kept people alive in PvP through destro ults and healed through numerous dungeon boss mechanics. I've also failed a lot at my job and I'll admit that, but this 690 did not know his build from a boulder. I watched a lvl 300 CP sorc out dps this guy by 10k+ and nearly lost it. I now have a severe distrust of bow users unless I've played with them before or I know them personally.

    Communication is critical, dropped an normal dungeon today, first time since the dungeon event, random normal on templar healer got darkshade 2, fake tank but that is an benefit in darkshade 2. However the fake tank managed to die all the time with 18 K health.
    Another had 11K I tried to get him to eat food but he did not respond, at all not even to trade invites, he did not die however so I might go on had not group dps was horrible I did 40% of damage as healer with 3 DD.
    Darkshade 2 is an pug breaker like RoM and CoS.
    Horrible dps and no communication no thanks.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    I pug almost exclusively as a healer, except for a few times that I've duoed w/ Darcy and she's healed. Therefore, every pug I'm in is at least competently healed. :)

    I wouldn't say we always have real tanks -- sometimes the "tank" is 2hed when he's not in werewolf form -- but I rarely take all THAT much aggro, except in random-aggro fights or ones where I'm doing >50% of the DPS (which are however not uncommon).

    I've had plenty of bow-only DPS, but so be it.

    So basically, my bad groups are bad enough to laugh about, but not bad enough to get me upset. Indeed, healing can be more fun when I have the challenge of carrying a bad group.

    I'm not surprised ZOS ignored your suggestion to let people have a search option that only includes people above a certain CP level. Or to put it the other way, your suggestion for a search option to exclude everyone below a certain CP level.

    We can go through all the reasons why such an exclusionary option is fundamentally flawed:
    A. High CP level is no guarantee of skill and dungeon experience/Low CP is no guarantee of lack of skill and dungeon inexperience in any given role
    B. The game already limits players from certain dungeons due to level/CP level. ESO stops excluding players at CP 160, the gear cap. These limits changed with Clockwork City to better reflect actual dungeon difficulty.
    C. Given the option to exclude lower-level players, players will do so, preventing those lower-level players from gaining the skills and experience they need to successfully complete those dungeons.
    D. Above CP 160 at the gear cap, every benefit from subsequent CP is a matter of degree, not the difference between succeeding and failing in a veteran dungeon.

    But ultimately what it comes down to is that ZOS wisely ignored your desire to segregate players by CP level because allowing players to be excluded when their gear/skill/experience should allow them to complete the content is bad for business. Moreover, it wouldn't even have the effect you want. If players are de facto excluded until CP 500, those players will absolutely grind via skyreach or dolmens up to CP 500 before waltzing into dungeons just as ignorant as before because CP level is no guarantor of experience and/or skill.

    So thanks for playing the latest version of "If only we could exclude [everyone who doesn't match up to my arbitrary standards], everything would be better" game. Then, consider that ZOS is providing a game that has to allow everyone from newbie, to noob, to scrub, to casual, to hardcore, to elitist, to all play and have fun most of the time. And now, you see why ZOS ignored your perhaps well-intentioned but ultimately foolish suggestion.

    P.S. If you have certain standards for a group like for Vet BF, ZOS has the solution for you! Search in zone chat, guild chat, or your friend list for 3 other people above CP 500 to make a premade group that meets your standards! Its easy. If you want to use the random groupfinder you are going to end up with random teammates who fit the minimum requirements of the dungeon. So if you aren't okay with getting random teammates of random CP levels and random skill levels with random amounts of experience, save everyone some nerve cells and a good mood by making a pre-made group.

    Given the option to exclude lower-level or lower CP players in the automatic search group, players will do so. Then, instead of the burden of finding special groups that meet their standards being placed on the players who want to mandate groups of above a certain level of CP, that burden will be placed on the lower CP players to find groups in the first place.

    In essence, you want it to be easier for you to find groups of higher CP players using the groupfinder and don't care that your suggestion would make it markedly harder for lower CP players to find groups at all. And then you wonder why ZOS didn't implement your solution.

    The way the game works, random players can join for any dungeon that ZOS deems them capable of completing. That way, everyone who meets the minimum requirements can find a group for that dungeon. Its called "Groupfinder".
    Normal dungeons unlock progressively, with the version II and DLC dungoens all unlocking at LVL 45
    Veteran Dungeons unlock at LVL 50
    Veteran DLC dungeons, Vet Crypt of Hearts 2 and Vet Fungal Grotto 2 unlock at CP 160.

    If you have further requirements, like "my group must have above CP 500" you can use your guilds, friends, and zone chat to form a group or you can mercilessly kick anyone from the random teammates selected by group finder who doesn't meet your requirements. But that effort is on you.

    You've yet to give a good reason why ZOS should redesign the groupfinder to allow players to exclude swaths of the game population based on nothing more than player prejudice towards an arbitrary number of CP that is an imperfect measure of player skill to begin with.

    My new least skilled person is a dps I just attempted Vet CoA 2 with. 410ish, roughly 65 CP higher than me, and the guy didn't know the mechanics. I did Vet CoA 2 at 300 and my highest DPS was ~520, so I knew it would be a struggle bus. I did not expect him to have absolutely 0 idea of the dungeon layout or mechanics. Plus the fact he was using tri-stat recovery food with 12k health and running 0 shields didn't help at all. As a healer, all I ask is for 1 damage shield, stay close to me during high damage phases, and PLEASE DO NOT stand in the giant AoE. Please!!

    There are like tons of 30k+ dps builds out there, you can be a copy cat and easily do the 75% of the claimed value with *** tier animation cancel. And even with garbage tier animation cancel, 25k on mag sorc and 30k on stam dk can be achieved easily.

    Well, I had 700cp+ sorc dd in my group today at vWGT. He had sword/board front bar and 36k health. The funny thing happened at the first boss when he died pretty much instantly to the boss's special attack and was most of the fight down. Nobody else died in that fight.

    Lot of clueless people in group finder groups. And what I've seen a lot of quite decent high cp level players (not even tanks) doesn't seem to know the basic combat mechanics of block telegraph (yellow star burst effect) and interrupt telegraph (red star burst effect).

    Some of that's on normal dungeons not being all that difficult for most tanks. If you've got a properly built tank, you can survive most normal dungeon telegraphs pretty easily without worrying about interrupting or blocking the heavy attacks. So tanks who run normals can learn to ignore those signals.

    Then tanks hit the point where it does matter - usually at the normal DLC dungeons and Veteran dungeons, and then they start going "wait, what am I supposed to be looking for?" Its not necessarily that they don't know how to block or interrupt, its that they don't know the signal for it or more likely, have been ignoring those signals because the mechanics don't matter as much on normal. Then they hit Vet and all of a sudden they have to pay attention to those yellow lines on Selene or her bear will one-shot them.

    I know that when I run Vet dungeons for the first time on my tank, it feels like a trial-and-error process of finding out which things can I survive if I mess up or lag behind thanks to lag and which attacks I absolutely have to respect because they'll kill me if I'm not right on top of them. Its not that I can't block/interrupt or do the mechanic, its that there's a big difference between those mechanics on normal where I learned them and those mechanics on vet.

    lol, that's why he runs 36k health and S&B...because he dies all the time

    Pity. He'd probably survive a lot better with 18k health and using his Ward skill.

    Why would you not kick low lvl underskilled players?

    Because this way they never have the opportunity to learn and become better players? Honestly, I'm playing ESO for a month now (I have years of experience with other MMOs), but right now I'm tempted to never ever go into a dungeon. Since I passionately hate PvP too, I'm left too few options...

    I hope you won't let nay-sayers drive you away from doing group dungeons. I started doing them after a long period of playing the game solo because I was pretty scared of playing with other random players and not knowing what to do. Fortunately, I started doing normal dungeons with my friends and some helpful guildmates and I've come to really enjoy them. It definitely takes some practice to learn the mechanics and to become comfortable with your role, and if you are having fun with overland questing I certainly wouldn't say you have to jump into group dungeons. But they can be a lot of fun too and most groups will be very understanding and helpful if its your first time in the group dungeon. Some of the most fun and satisfying runs I've had have been with players who were new to the dungeon and learning the mechanics.
