I married my RL girlfriend's character at launch. Then I married my girlfriend in real life last year.

Of course now, we NEVER play the married characters. Honestly, the xp bonus isn't worth losing a set bonus.

Married my real life wife.
Due a mess up by Steam she lost her account.
Got a new account direct with Zos and re-married my wife.
After playing a bit and learning a lot we deleted those toons.
I hold the rings in my bank.

As mentioned by others - these days I would not sacrifice the set bonus for a ring of mara.

@Turelus Yup. Some same here. I’ve been married twice... The first person ended-up quitting ESO. The second person and I ended-up having a falling out of sorts. So yeah... Lol. Single life currently.

I usually play by myself (unless I'm doing a group activity like trials), so it wouldn't be practical to get hitched to someone else.

I considered it when my boyfriend bought the game and got the Imperial edition with the scrolls, but he never really started playing and now he isn't my boyfriend anymore, so that idea never went anywhere.

I've had the scroll for almost 2 years sitting in my inventory, wont use it after I learned it takes a ring slot. If they changed that to be an accessory I'd do it.

I won't waste ring slot for small 10% exp boost, honestly it should be changed entirely and has some other benefits like cooking more meals etc.

This is probably going to sound stupid to most young people but here I go.

Marriage to me is a very sacred thing. I do not take it lightly. I understand we are talking about a fake thing in a game, but unless my wife played the game(which she does not) I would feel morally wrong about marrying in a game even though it is not a real thing. It feels wrong to me which normally means (at least for me ) it is wrong.

I agree with your point - I don’t feel RL attached to anything in game - but for a time I hated to ‘suicide’ at enemy keeps to get to a target keep more quickly. I got over it though. ;-)
